Anyone fancy joining me for a quick 30 day shred before Christmas?

I've never done it before but am feeling pretty bleugh at the moment and could do with a pick-up. I think it will help me to watch what I'm eating a bit in the run-up to Christmas too.

I've no idea if I will actually manage a whole 30 days but probably more likely to if someone else is spurring me on! Anyone up for it?

I agree, I don't think shredding with a pulled calf would be a great idea unfortunately! I'd give yourself a proper rest for a few days tbh.

Day off from work today so I braved Banish Fat Boost Metabolism...I haven't done this one much at all (and not in ages) because I have vague memories of wanting to throw up by the end. But I did it without dying today, hurray!

SoupDragon · 25/11/2016 10:19

I think most of the cardio would be out with a pulled calf apart from the "punches"

Some of the strength moves with weights would be fine - the one where you lie on the floor and lift the weight for example. Some of the other ones without lunges might be OK. Abs are probably fine.

MissWillaCather · 25/11/2016 10:04

Another day, another shred, level 2 this time. Mixing it up so don't get bored.

I struggle with the breathing too, especially as my small dog likes to sit on my stomach in the crunches 😀

I think shredding with a pulled calf could be a mistake. What about an abs workout?

Won't be doing over weekend as I am away. Could try running, but it's just so bloody cold.

AuntieStella · 24/11/2016 20:42

I've pulled a calf running, so won't be doing that for a few days.

Those who have started The Shred - would it be insane to try to do this instead? Or at least try most of it, but skip the bits that hurt the calf?

BrassicaBabe · 24/11/2016 20:33

Day 2. Done. The kids joined in (DTs). So cute. Yelled at DH (well, breathed heavily between star jumps) for coming in with his camera app!Angry

DeliciousIrony · 24/11/2016 19:25

The pain does get better, honestly Smile

Having said that, I tried Yoga Inferno L1 today for the first time and found it fairly brutal. I am definitely not a graceful person, and a total newbie to Yoga, which probably doesn't help. I'm not sure how I feel about this one, I wanted a good all-rounder DVD but it felt much more like a lower body workout as my quads were in bits.

AND, there was no cool-down at the end, just a bloody long pep-talk from Jillian, but I felt the need to do some good stretching anyway.

indigox · 24/11/2016 15:39

I'm still aching from the 7 minutes I did before hurting myself, I dread to think how bad it would be if I'd finished the whole thing, even my shoulder/chest muscles hurt.

BrassicaBabe · 24/11/2016 15:09

Had a 2.5 hour car journey today. When I came to the end I nearly couldn't get out of the car!! Ouch!

busyrascal · 24/11/2016 13:08

That's what I'm worried about Miss Willa!

I just did day 4 of level and found it HARD I think because of previous aches! I think I'll start finding it ok just in time to move up to the next level.

Also, does anyone else struggle to time their breathing properly? I feel like my default is to breathe in the opposite way to that which Jillian recommends and I have to really concentrate to get it right.

Ok, I've shredded. Decided to try a level 3 today- mmm, quite a leap!

SoupDragon · 23/11/2016 23:05

No way am I doing photos :o

MissWillaCather · 23/11/2016 21:30

Yes, just because she can shovel in sweets and still have a flat toned belly...it will catch up with her one day, mark my words...

Could I risk a before pic...?? Maybe..

🍷Here's to being ripped by Christmas

BrassicaBabe · 23/11/2016 21:21

Bugger, mean we shall see!! Pesky fat fingers! Although see my earlier pelvic floor comment and maybe the original is closer to itBlush

BrassicaBabe · 23/11/2016 21:20

We're all going to be ripped by xmas misswilla. What does your DD know? Grin

I wasted 10 mins looking through google images of before/after shred. There are some funny ones there. Couldn't spot the difference on quite a few!

Before I started today I took my own measurements and personal "before" pic. We shall wee...!

busyrascal · 23/11/2016 21:06

Sounds like a plan delicious!

Just done day 3. Weirdly it's my chest muscles that ache the most...or is that normal??

DeliciousIrony · 23/11/2016 20:44

Killer Abs L1 done today, it certainly sneaks some tricky moves in there! And 10 mins hula hooping. Aiming to do another 20 Jillian workouts before Christmas, so about 5 per week...then I can drown myself in wine and chocolate Wink

MissWillaCather · 23/11/2016 17:09

Hello, can I join too? Started last Thursday as I couldn't face running in the freezing weather 😳

Class today, so shred again tomorrow. Have told dd I will be ripped by Christmas- she laughed! Quite rightly, but need to do something as the great outdoors is too cold for me just now.

indigox · 23/11/2016 16:10

It's not as bad today so I'm going to try again tomorrow and do the squats without the hand weights.

BrassicaBabe · 23/11/2016 11:40

Lol. That said my legs are shaking so much I can barely get down the stairs and I can hardly hold a pen!! Grin

BrassicaBabe · 23/11/2016 11:22

Well I managed Day 1. Hard but didn't kill me.

Qu...will this 30 days also sort the pelvic floor problem that was evident!! Blush

GColdtimer · 23/11/2016 09:19

Indigo, did you ice it and give it a massage? Rest today, it might be ok tomorrow. I find when that happens to me I find a workout that doesn't need that muscle. Like a 15 min abs workout so I feel I have done something.

GColdtimer · 23/11/2016 09:17

Day 1 done, straight after school run. No messing! It was fine, thanks for thread. Good luck everyone.

Thecontentedcat · 23/11/2016 08:00

I'm in day 1, tonight

Pinkvici22 · 23/11/2016 07:58

So it should be day 4 for me today but I've only done the Shred once! I'll try to get back on track tonight - life getting in the way again Angry

DeliciousIrony · 23/11/2016 07:56

Ouch indigo, I have done that before with the Shred it with Weights workout, it's really put me off that DVD! Hope you recover soon.

Brassica Congrats on the weight loss! I am far from a fitness freak, but think that having exercise to focus on helps to spur on motivation, particularly on non-fasting days.

Busy My DP is banned from being in the room while I shred! ALthough you could always invite him to join you and see how he likes it...
