For C25K graduates who are taking the next step!

W10R1 this morning, 3x15min runs with minute walks in between. I wasn't at all sure I was going to finish but I did, checked MapMyRun & saw I'd done 6.3K.

Hadn't realised I could run that far!

Good tip on the Vaseline my DH uses it his emmm nipples to stop rubbing Smile

Have you tried normal in air headphones but change the bud bit to the smallest cover, I've got some which are really small and if I feed the wire under my t shirt & tuck abit wire under bra strap they don't fall out at all.

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 31/05/2017 06:16

Just remembered something else. In the last couple of k I was sweating a lot & my shorts started chafing my thighs. I saw a tip on one of the marathon threads about applying Vaseline or a roll-on anywhere that's likely to happen & it seems like a good idea!

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 30/05/2017 22:41

I use these with fins. One of them will fall out occasionally but they're generally pretty good.

Or you could go for overear?

shortaris1 · 30/05/2017 22:34

Thanks a lot.

Any headphone recommendations? I've tried loads but they fall out.I have very small ears!

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 30/05/2017 18:45

I'll do that when I get started, Ski, thanks! Hope your back feels better soon.

SkiBike007 · 30/05/2017 16:45

Empress Come join the swimming for fitness thread on hereSmile they have inspired me too. I've been trying for the last 4yrs to teach myself frontcrawl and I've finally just nailed it in the last month Grin its great for cross training with the running. I struggled to find googles that I could wear and after the aquasphere recommendation on the thread I bought some and they are perfectGrin ...sorry back to running, I'm not out today as back sore so will just have a walk later I think.
Hope you can get your foot/ankle sorted shortaris

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 30/05/2017 08:15

Cheers Shortaris.

Hope you manage to sort out your ankle for Sunday.

The best parts, apart from running through sprinklers, were when people were shouting my name - it's a real boost so well worth sticking your name on your top.

shortaris1 · 30/05/2017 06:05

Well done Empress, rest and relax today!

Did 4 lovely flat miles yesterday but my foot hurt at the end and this is what caused the ankle pain the last time so iced it immediately and its loads better today. May see a friends osteo if I can get in or opt for tape for Sunday.

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 29/05/2017 23:10

Thank you Kanye. Flowers

KanyesLunchbox · 29/05/2017 22:43

Well done, Empress. No doubt your lovely friend and her lovely husband are incredibly proud of you. (As we and hopefully you are too!) I hope you have a restful day tomorrow, take care of yourself.

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 29/05/2017 20:33

Thanks Ski. I'm going to give myself June off & then take up swimming.

SkiBike007 · 29/05/2017 20:26

Fab empress hugely draining for you emotionally well done. Hope you can rest up tom.

My legs were stiff after yesterday run so went swimming today which was a big help

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 29/05/2017 19:20

Grin I bet it was!

littlemissM92 · 29/05/2017 18:04

Well done empress! I dragged my self out at 5pm and did a 6.2k in ththe pouring rain was quite nice x

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 29/05/2017 17:13

Thanks Kanye and Ski, and Ski, good on you!

On the bus home after waving my friend's husband off. I'm so glad I've got tomorrow off work, I'm bloody shattered!

But it was great. If humid. There was a line of sprinklers halfway round which was an inspired idea. And Ski, put your name on your top and people will shout it.

SkiBike007 · 29/05/2017 10:49

You inspired me and I have paid my money & sign up for a 10k race for life in July Smile

SkiBike007 · 29/05/2017 10:48

Go go go empress and enjoy it Star

KanyesLunchbox · 29/05/2017 10:12

Sending good vibes, Empress!

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 29/05/2017 09:26

I'm standing on the start line doing my warmup.

I can do this!

I'll report back once it's all over...

shortaris1 · 29/05/2017 08:46

Morning all, my runs next Sunday so I'm very excited! Sorry if I confused you with the date. Barriers up for mine too Empress

Well done Ski that's fab!

pink I went out on Friday but I was just too hot! Saturday was easier, 15 minutes out in humidity then 15 mins back in torrential rain! Off to run in a minute, before I change my mind.

Nice work Kanye

Pinkvici22 · 28/05/2017 22:25

Hi all

Haven't checked in in a while but can see everyone's doing great! I managed 10K last weekend (walking and running), but have struggled this week in the heat.

Did 5k this morning (mostly ran and did it in 32 mins).

Off on holiday tomorrow....and.....I'm taking my running kitShock

KanyesLunchbox · 28/05/2017 22:21

Hi Gin!

Phew.. I just managed 8k without any walk breaks not even the really boring long stretches I hate. It was slow but fairly steady and comfortable even at the end. I think I just might survive the 10k next week. Smile

Looking forward to hearing this weekend's 10k reports 🏅

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 28/05/2017 08:32

Welcome to the thread, Gin.

littlemissM92 · 28/05/2017 08:27

Yes ski!!!!

Ginorchoc · 28/05/2017 08:19

Joining for training tips, I've a 10k in July and only just did my first parkrun yesterday which was a struggle really hot so had to walk/run. Good luck the 10k runner today.
