Juneathon 2016 - anyone want to join us?

Basic premis: try to do 30 min exercise every day in June.

Any kind of exercise: walking, running, swimming, climbing, dancing, circuits - the choice is yours!

From experience, every day can be a bit much. So feel free to join in even if you don't think you can manage this. Last year I aimed for 5 days per week, which worked well for me.

If you want to start before June, there is a thread here

An hour of fairly pacey Ashtanga. I am sooooo inflexible. It's actually quite funny.

OublietteBravo · 28/06/2016 20:36

Day 28: Ri30 L3D3 & 6W6P L2 (but only a single circuit, because I'm feeling tired).

Great to see so many of you sticking with it. I can't believe we only have a couple of days of June left.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. DH didn't let me move all weekend and I sat with my foot up. Then I got very bored.
It felt ok today so I did a Pump class with light weights.

Zame · 28/06/2016 14:13

30 minutes on the cross trainer and a few minutes on the Ski machine and rowing machine followed up with a walk . I'm getting back on it after a weekend of stuffing my face :)

Tsotofamily · 28/06/2016 13:50

50 min dog walk done.

keyser well done on the run

KeyserSophie · 28/06/2016 13:34

7.5km hill run with a friend. It was soggy but quite pleasant running in the rain but it still being warm.

blodynmawr · 28/06/2016 07:14

Not very good last week - did some daily walks but no Jillian.
Back on KBFF this week though.
17 / 20.

OublietteBravo · 27/06/2016 20:48

Day 27: 6W6P L2. Had to force myself to do it - not much motivation today.

Elephant hope ur ankle is on the mend.

Not had the energy to do much the last week, sleepless nights are really taking my energy, anyway 40 mins out with the dogs this morning. Might attempt a walk after dinner tonight I'm hoping it will help move her down even more Grin
Have a dog walk planned with friend in morning so hopefully rain stays away

KeyserSophie · 27/06/2016 09:38

As predicted, yesterday was a write off. Today did upper body session with my PT. My pull ups were damn good if I do say so myself Grin. Celebrated by eating 3 mini muffins (fail!).

Zame · 27/06/2016 09:26

Well done oubliette! No official exercise for me yesterday but I did a fair bit of walking so not a total fail. I'm considering my options for today 1) go back to bed and be lazy all day after a hectic weekend 2) go to the gym or 3) swim. So far 1) is winning but I'll feel differently after a couple of coffees

OublietteBravo · 26/06/2016 10:04

Day 26: NMTZ. I decided to get my workout over and done with, rather than waiting until the evening.

Another half hour workout for me this morning. Well done Oubliette!

KeyserSophie · 26/06/2016 01:41

Yesterday: 10k on the treadmill as the sun is too burny

Today: too hungover to move so it's not looking good.

OublietteBravo · 25/06/2016 21:49

Day 25: 6W6P L2.

(150/150 - I'm officially half way to my target of exercising on 300 days in 2016 Smile)

No exercise yesterday, but a half hour workout this morning. I'm also going to try to fit in a walk before the day is out.

Oh no elephant, make sure you rest it properly.

Zame · 25/06/2016 08:18

Very bad luck elephant, sorry to hear that.
Did loads of walking yesterday and a 5k jog this morning which probably wasn't the best idea.'I'll be walking loads again today

OublietteBravo · 24/06/2016 22:20

Elephant Sad - what rotten luck.

Day 24: NMTZ.

Well, fuck. Got 23/23 and sprained my ankle playing badminton on day 24. I'm really cross.

Zame · 23/06/2016 22:05

10 minutes on the rowing machine, 30 minutes on the elliptical (doesn't seem designed for short arses) , and 30minutes of swimming which I really enjoyed as the pool wasn't too busy

OublietteBravo · 23/06/2016 21:16

Well done everyone - only another week to go!

Day 23: Ri30 L2D2 & Killer Abs L1D4. Very humid again, and I'm feeling quite tired now I'm done.

So, no exercise yesterday but 35 mins walking this evening.

ElephantMug · 23/06/2016 12:06

Keyser, I'm not surprised that the KB swings are tough at 24kg!
I couldn't make it to the gym today but this thread inspired me to an hour long sort of circuit workout at home. KB swings (12kg only!) 20kg squats, lunges, dips, press ups, TRX rows and the dreaded burpees. I kind of made it up as I went but got v. sweaty so must have been doing something right.

KeyserSophie · 23/06/2016 08:24

Elephant I dont mind burpees too much but the kettlebells are the bit I dread. Just having to get your weight forward at exactly the right moment so the KB doesnt pull you over backwards.

Session with PT this morning. I cant squat below parallel atm as trying to rehab my hip, so we had to improvise

  • single leg reverse stepped lunges 4 sets at 16kg (mobility drill)
  • back squat to bench 4 sets of 10 @40-50kg
  • single leg Romanian deadlifts 4x10@25kg
  • overhead wall ball throw downs (max power) 4x 10 @8kg
  • ergo sprints (max power) 4x 20 secs
OublietteBravo · 22/06/2016 20:56

Day 22: back to NMTZ (I think this is my favourite circuit right now).
