Protein Powder?

DD has been advised to have some protein shakes (3x 20g a day - am, pm & after her busiest/hardest class)

So we bought some 'Optimum Nutrition Lean Whey'

& the blasted child doesn't like it - it's not chocolatey enough in water & too chocolatey for adding to her smoothies (despite the spinach!! yuk!!)

So can she add it to milk & add more milkshake powder to make it chocolateyer & what should I buy next time that is a better flavour?

Protein supplements will only cause her to bulk in conjunction with heavy lifting so don't worry about that. Presumably the physic has told her to use them to promote muscle repair and recovery from such a heavy exercise schedule. However, if she's concerned about weight gain she should just mix them with water.

I use Progenex Recovery. It's very good and the peanut butter-chocolate is delicious but it's expensive.

Tbh they all have "that" taste to them, because they can only mask so well. I think it's just one of those things she has to accept.

It's quite confusing as dance doesn't map on to normal sports very well

She mustn't gain any bulk or weight, she has masses of high impact energy expenditure & yet her weekly exercise is over 30 hours of aerobic

Maintaining her weight is a massive problem - exacerbated by her retainer which means it's hard to snack - she is dreading going back to college

GNC has sachets of several brands.

I like to put a strawberry flavour powder in Greek yogurt.

Www.myprotein.com is where I was talking about, sorry, I meant to link and totally forgot. I just use Impact Whey Protein, from the description it looks like it might be the kind of thing your Dd is looking for but I'm not an expert on all the types.

I think we need to do a bit more research - the physo made the suggestion but I think we need more info

We really struggled chosing one as so many were for weight loss or bulking up

Ididn'tsee any sachets at either Boots or Holland & Barrett - where else should we look?

Myprotein sell sachets in some of their types of protein so you can try a few flavours before you buy a big lot. I have chocolate nut flavour just now which is just like Nutella and sticky toffee pudding flavour which is nice too.

Thanks Ami - she loves coconut milk so that may work

Try adding into milk or sweetened almond milk. It tastes alot better.
