what do you wear under gym/runnih leggings?

Sorry if this is one of those annoying questions.

I wear knickers under mine, and have a massively noticeable line. Glancing around the gym the other day I noticed no one else does. Am I doing it wrong?

I know I'm about to be flamed as a pervert or vain bitch or something. I'm honestly not, just more self concious. Am I making a gym faux pas? I know, I shouldn't care really and on ones looking. Apart from me.

I wear normal knickers or some special anti-chafe knickers if it's a more strenuous workout. I don't really care about VPL in the gym or running.

Anglaise1 · 03/12/2015 20:48

Pants under shorts, capris or tights when running. I've never noticed VPL on anyone I run with and no-one else has commented in the club (although comments are made if someone has put on a few kilos as it shows in the arse area straight away).
I run a lot and it is far more important to be comfortable and run well than worry about how I look.

Freya888 · 03/12/2015 12:37

I wear sports bra and some thong ( i feel much comfy in it). And of course a good pair of leggings. U can wear also sports pants.

ThursdayLastWeek · 29/10/2015 15:36

Just normal knickers.
VPL be damned.

I think everything would be too.....damp...to go without entirely.

ragged · 29/10/2015 15:29

I wear long shorts like these for exercise including running, I'd overheat in minutes if I wore leggings... can sometimes do it on the bike on long rides on very cold days. Then my feet & hands still freeze, of course.

chrome100 · 28/10/2015 12:36

I don't wear knickers because it's a waste to wear a pair for an hour's run and then wash them.

I wear leggings without knickers for two runs and then was them.

sarahyoung1996 · 19/10/2015 16:32

No knickers here. Just leggings with a proper gusset.

BuggersMuddle · 13/10/2015 20:47

Pants. I have some Panache shorts that came with my sports bra, so I tend to wear them for running.

Cheapy M&S no VPL shorts otherwise.

lavendersun · 13/10/2015 20:46

Bridget Jones style pants for anything physical here. I no longer go to the gym but have a rowing machine and x trainer at home, cycle and ride my horse.

John Lewis up to your armpits cotton knickers work for me!

lighteningirl · 13/10/2015 20:41

Nada but I wear proper gym leggings with a gusset

MuttonDressedAsGoose · 07/10/2015 07:34

I wear the no vpl knickers from Asda. The gusset is cotton enough not to get too swampy and they're comfortable. Otherwise, I try to always wear cotton knickers as I'm very sensitive to chaffing and, um, damp. But the no vpl pants don't bother me at all.

Pippioddstocking · 30/09/2015 22:38

Seamless knickers and a tenna lady here too :)

Greenteandchives · 30/09/2015 22:33

Nothing. But I do make sure my bottoms are decent quality and have a proper gusset! Smile

Glitteryfrog · 30/09/2015 22:26

Pants.
I really don't care about vpl in the gym.
My sweaty face and hair is more offensive.

bishboschone · 29/09/2015 16:54

I wear my usual knickers which are a g string , I don't like knicker lines in any trousers .

Curiouserandcuriouser30 · 29/09/2015 16:47

carrie I do that too! Except I do it because at a friend's DD's school music and dance show several years ago, one of the performers (older, 16ish) did a dance that ended with her sort of bending over onto the floor, bum facing the audience. As she bent down, her leggings became see-through, and the whole audience did a simultaneous thing. Poor girl. I always hope no one ever told her!

OP I also wear massive granny pants, VPL be damned!

Branleuse · 29/09/2015 16:36

:D at the tena lady

carrie74 · 29/09/2015 11:11

My normal pants, and definitely have a VPL but don't really care. I wasn't impressed however when I caught a backwards glance of my backside while doing a child pose at the end of a PT session and realised the pattern of my pants was VERY visible. It made shopping for running bottoms a whole different matter (bending over in changing rooms in extreme positions to see if they became see through).

BikeRunSki · 25/09/2015 22:44

Nothing

backwardpossom · 25/09/2015 22:40

Tena lady...

MotherOfFlagons · 25/09/2015 09:21

I bought some special pants from Sweaty Betty because I was finding wearing normal knickers uncomfortable, but didn't want to go commando. They're very good, they don't chafe, get stuck up my bum or show underneath my leggings. They are pricey, but there's likely a cheaper alternative somewhere.

MrsMook · 25/09/2015 09:05

Close fitted pants and a Tena lady Grin

suzannecaravan · 23/09/2015 09:41

chainmail

BlueChampagne · 21/09/2015 13:20

I'm with TreeHuggerMum1

User543212345 · 21/09/2015 12:41

I go commando, unless I'm adventure racing as having to run 7km of a 10km race with my bum hanging out is not an experience I wish to repeat. Pants just end up giving me a wedgie/chafing under exercise clothes.
