Okay, it's not just 30 Day Shred anymore but if you would like to log your daily JM fix and get some tips and tricks from fellow Shredders, step this way.

30DSL1D2. Cardio slightly easier than yesterday but omg my arms hurt! Which is better - heavier weights but less movement or full movement with lighter weights? Eg side lunges I can't lift weight up to my eyes.
Toizzy what is mfp? Sorry - novice!
Thinking of combining with Cto5k. I got to w4 then went on holiday but back now. Too much or should I go for it?

Bimblepops · 17/07/2014 23:00

30DS L2, D10, done - hurrah! Day 25 overall.

Off on holiday tomorrow. Will try to get 3/4 shred's in, prob stick with L2, as I remember finding it harder than L3. Then get onto L3 when I get home.

OublietteBravo · 17/07/2014 21:57

I'm feeling very proud of myself. I really didn't want to, and was all ready with a series of excuses ('it's too hot', 'I'm tired', etc.). However I got a grip and I've just done 30DS L2D6 (albeit following Anita a bit more than usual).

tabulahrasa · 17/07/2014 17:37

No shred today...I went fruit picking instead, I don't even feel guilty, lol, I have fruit and it was fun, so there.

I did walk about 3 miles though (not exaggerating about how long it took to pick fruit, we took lunch and went for a walk).

Toizzy · 17/07/2014 14:32

hi
today was d5 of 30 ds lvl 1.The first two days i actually felt a bit ill after doing it, shaky legs and could hardly lift my arms in the shower to wash my hair!
It's actually making me feel better now, feel like I've got a lot more energy in the day . I'm doing it combined with mfp to lose leftover baby weight and to get back to my once upon a time sporty self !

OwlCapone · 17/07/2014 14:25

Nooooo, not odd at all :o

kaymondo · 17/07/2014 13:33

30DS L3 D1 done - I think I might die!!! Going on holiday on sat so only got another couple of days to hit it hard - unless I download L3 on my iPad and take it to the gym on hols with headphones (or do you think people will think I'm a bit odd when I start doing rock star jumps in the middle of the room Grin).

Chococroc · 17/07/2014 12:28

30 DS L2 Day 10 done this morning, followed by a bike ride so not too bad!

Onto level 3 tomorrow, think I'll checks it out this evening so I know what to expect

ShadowsShadowsEverywhere · 17/07/2014 12:23

Argh. I'd got really complacent about my diastasis having healed and stopped doing all my transverse exercises along side the work outs. I've woken up this morning with that tell tale bulge and a 1.5cm separation.

Let that be a warning to anyone who has had diastasis recti before. You need to keep doing the transverse exercises for ever. I'd got down to a few maintenance exercises daily and now I'm going to have to go right back to three times a day exercises to get the separation closed. It's my own stupid fault for thinking that the gap closing meant it was gone forever. Clearly it doesn't work like that.

I'm thinking ill sub in transverse exercises for all the ab circuits and also try and fit in two 15 min sessions during the day. On the plus side all the ab work has strengthened everything else, my tummy is firm when I yank it in and doesn't have that post baby jelly wobble it had before. So I think if I can get the transverse strong again it'll haul everything in and should look better than it did before. Just hope I can reverse it in the two weeks I have before holiday!!!

Bimblepops · 17/07/2014 12:13

I gave myself a rest day yesterday, to give my right quad a chance to recover. Back to it today though - probably not until this evening once the kids are in bed though.

OwlCapone · 17/07/2014 10:24

I always have a big jar of roasted nuts to snack on. I buy natural nuts and roast them myself so they have no salt. Problem is, they are full of calories.

yadahyadah · 17/07/2014 10:11

On the plank twist things check you are doing it right - I found with crow push ups that I was doing a lot wrong and not feeling it. Here is a link from you know who.

In other news, I have been reading about MUFAs which are fats that send a signal to your liver to start burning stored - especially stubborn - fat. Does anyone have any experience of these babies and easy ways to stuff your diet with them without really having to get all lentil knitter about life?

flowerpower had a similar blip after day 1, keep at it, I promise after day 3 you'll start wanting to do it. (Before then, grit your teeth, it's worth it)

I think I find the plank twists (and all the plank moves) hard because I've had my lower back muscles removed, so all the pressure of balancing in that position goes straight to my spine. I'm keeping going with the plank cardio moves, 5 and then drop and straight back up, but no can do on the twists.

Ooh just looked back and I'm on d4 of 30DSL2, woo hoo, thought it was D3. Little bonus. Not bad given that DS had me up every 2 hrs last night!

ImogenQuy · 17/07/2014 07:04

I had an unscheduled rest day yesterday - I was just too shattered to get out of bed in time to do the DVD. RI30 L2D8 done this morning, but it was too hot to do full cardio circuits: I did one minute of each and lay down and panted for the other minute.

I really hate this, to be honest (and L2 of RI30 is particularly evil and painful): I keep going because I want to be fitter. This thread is good for motivation.

I think those plank twists are genuinely quite easy - apart from my shoulders I didn't really feel them anywhere.

OwlCapone · 17/07/2014 06:57

Well done :) It gets easier surprisingly quickly!

flowerpowergirl · 17/07/2014 03:47

I have finally done it 30DS L1D1. Am in awe of the rest of you. Longest 20 mins of my life. Pleeeeease send me some encouragement. I really need it!

ShadowsShadowsEverywhere · 16/07/2014 22:13

I'm really tired, like bone achingly tired. I started and actually had to stop. I couldn't stop yawning and then I dropped a weight on my foot. Not good. Bed methinks and start again tomorrow.

macnab · 16/07/2014 21:32

Just checking in again to confirm that I did indeed shred this evening! Level 2 Day 7 for me. I did bicycle crunches instead of plank ones. And the leg work killed me tonight all those squats my thighs are still burning!

OublietteBravo I feel the same, it is ideal for me as a working mum. Its perfect for anyone who is short on time or housebound!

OublietteBravo · 16/07/2014 20:39

Just done 30DS L2D5.

Shadows I think I might be a bit addicted too. I'm already wondering which JM DVD to try next, and I'm only half way through 30DS. I love the fact that it fits in with my lifestyle (DH commutes, so I need to be at home with DC). I started a thread asking for recommendations about how to fit exercise in at home, and someone suggested 30DS. I was really skeptical about trying an exercise DVD - but I'm so glad I did - I'm definitely a convert!

I'm not sure I'm doing the plank twists right - they seem much easier than the other abs exercises.

ShadowsShadowsEverywhere · 16/07/2014 18:35

I fell over twice doing those twisty jumps last night Owl.

And those plank twists - I don't think I can be doing them right. I don't feel anything. What I'm doing when I do them, I could do all day iyswim? I don't really know how I can do it any differently though, it's not exactly a complex move is it?

I will be shredding when DCs in bed. I'm having to keep them separate ATM as they keep fighting over the slide.

tabulahrasa · 16/07/2014 18:34

I don't mind skaters...on my old rug anyway, lol, because I figure it's effort over style on those, but the twists took me the whole level last time to get anything like coordinated enough for them to feel effective.

The plank twists, I always felt like my hips were wrong or something, but, I could feel them on my stomach so I stuck with them.

OwlCapone · 16/07/2014 17:03

I feel more of an idiot doing the twisty things that are paired with the skaters :)

macnab · 16/07/2014 16:55

Hi everyone. Well I didn't shred yesterday evening because I had to go out unexpectedly and it was just too late when I got back. In keeping with my mental attitude to 'rest days' I scoffed a starbar on the way home Blush Having said that, my right shin is still quite sore, even today so probably no harm to have rested it. I'm still going to shred this evening though, but will wear my runners because I'd been doing it barefoot and I wonder if that's what has caused the pain in my shins.

I can't stand those plank twists in fact it feels very uncomfortable when I do them, like I'm not doing them right or something is going to pop out! So I am going to do bicycle crunches instead too, I do feel them working so will stick with them.

The skater move just makes me feel like a big eejit! Its a bit too 'dancey' for my liking - I have very poor coordination at the best of times so this move puts me right off!

I'm posting now, telling you all that I'm going to shred later, so that I will HAVE to come back later or tomorrow and confirm that I did. Otherwise that would be lying and that would be bad.

This thread is good for making me stick with it Smile

OwlCapone · 16/07/2014 16:20

30DS L2 done again. I even managed a set of utterly crap walking press ups. So hot though!
