Logging my daily JM fix and getting advice and motivation has been great over the past two months so here is a thread for all those of you who want to do the same again or for the first time. Come on, summer's nearly here and your butt's got Jillian's name on it Smile

I'm even OK with mountain climbers now. Squat thrusts OTOH... don't think I'm ever going to be flexible enough for those. (I'm 53 so I don't expect total miracles! Grin)

StuntNun · 07/05/2014 08:13

Sorry that should have read eight days on level 1. Serious sleep dep here sideways glance at the amazing non-sleeping toddler.

StuntNun · 07/05/2014 08:13

I like plank jacks too Errol... now that I can do them! I'm still not keen on mountain climbers though.

Private I actually have two more days of shred as I only did two days on level 1. When I'm done with my 30 days I'm going to cycle through the levels for a bit of variation and mix it up with kettlebells and Pilates in between. I had a few days off over Easter and decided to ease myself back in with level 1 only I realised level 1 was still an awesome workout for me because I was following Natalie more apart from the dreaded press-ups and using heavier weights than the first time round.

ThePowerOfMe · 07/05/2014 07:46

I've just got back into it (again!) I've had a break for a week and I think I'm meant to be on L1D6 but I'm going to count it as L1D3.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/05/2014 22:43

I actually like plank jacks .... I think when I first did L2 I was just so pleased that there weren't any regular press-ups that I was happy with the planky things!

MsIngaFewmarbles · 06/05/2014 22:12

Well done fubble :)

Well done fubble :)

PrivateBenjamin · 06/05/2014 21:35

Oooh what are you going to do next StuntNun? You've almost graduated from the shred!

PrivateBenjamin · 06/05/2014 21:32

Ok Leesmum I'll take one for the team tomorrow and report back Wink

I might swap my 2kg weights for tins of beans though.

StuntNun · 06/05/2014 21:29

D'oh typo that should be L3D9!

StuntNun · 06/05/2014 21:28

30DS L2D9 done but I'm knackered today after a hard day of baby-wrangling so I followed Anita on two exercises I normally follow Natalie for.

Level 2 is a step up from level 1 but it's more fun too. When you get to the plank jacks you will cry and fall over but by the time you get to level 3 they will be a whole lot easier so it's a satisfying progression each day too.

leesmum · 06/05/2014 21:28

Well done Fubble

Fubble · 06/05/2014 21:20

So just finished 30DS L1D1. I was so fed up procrastinating that tonight I just did it.
Ow, ow and ooh the shakes is how I feel just about now!! Confused

BUT the important thing is I did it. Now to keep going. I've really been enjoying reading peoples stories on here - it's a real encouragement/kick in the backside Wink

yadahyadah · 06/05/2014 21:20

areyoufeelinglucky you can either do it tomorrow and break through the pain barrier or you can leave it a day to give your body time to heal. Have you come to Rin30 new or off the back of Shred? I think most of the JM experts on the thread equate L1 of Ripped with L3 of Shred, so if you are doing it from scratch, take it easy on yourself or switch to Shred which you can get level1 of on youtube. Good luck from a fellow abs dodger.

AreYouFeelingLucky · 06/05/2014 21:09

I did the first day of Ripped in 30 today. It hurt. I couldn't keep up with the cardio a lot of the time, and some of the sit ups hurt! I'm severely lacking stomach tone at the moment, though.

When do I repeat? I presume tomorrow, but it doesn't actually say :s

leesmum · 06/05/2014 20:50

Private i must have missed your post...you can let us know tomorrow how it goes Grin good luck!

leesmum · 06/05/2014 20:49

Better you and i are on the same stage, i did 30DS L1 D9 today so only 1 more day on L1, i think im ready for a change but have heard a lot of comments about how hard L2 is!!! but i'm also sick of hearing "Abs like these don't come for free" ....please tell me she doesn't keep saying this in L2 and L3 too!

PrivateBenjamin · 06/05/2014 20:45

I did L1D10 today. I've heard horrible things about level 2. Will I be completely immobilised by pain the day after? Cause I have to drive to work so need my arms and legs to work. If it's going to kill me I'll just do Level 1 until Friday then I can recover at the weekend.

BetterWithCheese · 06/05/2014 20:29

Did 30DS L1D8 yesterday and D9 today. I wasn't even planning on doing it today but I really wanted to-how very bizarre. I'm sure level 2 will kill that enthusiasm Grin.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/05/2014 17:12

G&T - well, after I'd done Ri30 I went back to shred but using bigger weights more of the time and more natalie.

You could try NMTZ - you don't have to do the whole thing, you could pick different combinations of the circuits to fit the time you want to spend.

GandTnow · 06/05/2014 16:53

Just done level 4 of Ripped - ha ha ha!

So hard and much faster than the other levels, still a bit shaky!

Don't know what to try next. I've done shred and really love the fact that it is only 20 mins - any suggestions?

GwladysFrightandthePups · 06/05/2014 11:35

The baby keeps wanting to stand and be bounced on my knee - he doesn't seem to understand that mummy's too knackered for that today! You'd think he'd be a little more considerate, after all, it's his fault I'm in this mess...!

tabulahrasa · 06/05/2014 11:32

The first time I did it, I literally couldn't walk for days, well I mean I could, but only comically Hmm. There's no way I could do it again while I couldn't move, so I waited until I could and tried again. It's never been like that since, occasionally a tiny bit achy, but not like that.

Babesh · 06/05/2014 11:24

I ached dreadfully on day 2 and have been fine since other than a pleasant I have used my muscles feeling. Honestly day two was awful I was incredibly crabby and coukd barely pick my toddler up!

AmeliaToppingLovesShopping · 06/05/2014 11:02

Saying that my shoulders are really aching today, stupid planks! :)
