American Idiot, the whole album

imip · 14/01/2014 19:43

My running days are long behind me (8 years, in fact); but my all time fave was Grey Cells Green by Neds Atomic Dustbin.

...and Kylie and Beyonce. This used to be on a first generation iPod.

Contemplating running again, so will watch with interest!

pootlebug · 14/01/2014 19:40

Just got an ipod shuffle for running with so watching this with interest....already some great suggestions.

I find Halo is great for running. I feel strong and my stride increases when it's playing. (might have something to do with it being on the radio when I was pushing out DD2 last summer)

eurochick · 14/01/2014 19:33

I like to run to dance. The Running Trax compilations are pretty good.

Sunshineonsea · 14/01/2014 19:31

I would never have thought of some of these especially ones like fix you or halo as I would've deemed them to slow but I will give them a go

Gotta Feeling - Black eyed peas
Fix You = Coldplay

BitOutOfPractice · 14/01/2014 18:47

Oh yes Human by the Killers is great

cece · 14/01/2014 18:37

I find I always run fast to Beyoncé - Halo and Kylie - Slow for some odd reason, I think I lengthen my stride or something.

MarshaBrady · 14/01/2014 18:35

The Killers
The Pixies - esp Bag Boy
Gossip
Ting Tings

I'm a podcast-er.
Something funny usually, then you've done more than you think because you're distracted!

TwatWeevil · 14/01/2014 18:33

Galvanize by the Chemical Brothers is a good one. I save it for the toughest bit of my run, so I dig deeper.

And Daft Punk - One More Time.

Muse - Knights of Cydonia. Just makes me feel epic and invincible.

The original Keane version of 'Somewhere only we know' has a brilliant beat to get you paced at the start of a run.

yankeecandlebabypowder · 14/01/2014 18:28

oh I have a lot but most are cheesy & embarrassing.

But I love there as they have a good beat!

1 - Mr Brightside - The Killers
2 - Somebody told me - The Killers
3 - Human - The Killers
4 - C'mon C'mon - One Direction
5 - anything by the Phonics

Sunshineonsea · 14/01/2014 17:18

These are great and will be downloaded shortly Smile
Keep the suggestions coming though

The ting tings first album. Every song bar one (that I skip) has a good beat for running to.

BitOutOfPractice · 14/01/2014 16:22

Hey Yah: Outcast
Wake me up before you go-go: Wham. I know it's naff but try it!
The Boys Are Back in Town: Thin Lizzy
$1,000,000: Barenaked ladies
Black and Gold: Sam Sparro

Hanginggardenofboobylon · 14/01/2014 16:19

What about something like Pendulum or chase & status. I find the heavier the bear the better for running.
I also listen to a lot of trance gatecrasher/gods kitchen compilations in the gym.

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 14/01/2014 15:48

I like a total mixture, but indie anthems mainly
A minha menina
Blister in the sun
Numb
Tequila
bit of beyonce
Then just put it all on shuffle.
