Is there a general running thread?

I am pretty new to running (started in Septmember) but have some pretty ambitious targets in 2014 (10k and half marathon) so looking for other runners to advice, kick up the backside and generally chat about all things running.

I have seen a few couch to 5k threads but I didn't get on with that so can't use those threads so thought a thread for all runners whether they are new to it or experienced runners would be good?

how long did it take you to get from nothing too capable of half marathon?

Eau - are you doing the small Cambridge one on 2 March, as opposed to the bigger one a week later? Just nosey, because another MNer and I are doing the smaller one

Reading or Silverstone? I'm doing a local one in Cambs, it's fairly small but only down the road from me.

Eau - half marathon not til septmeber, Manchester 10k in May first.

OhOh - thanks will have a look, there are no parkruns near me so hadn't looked closely at the thread.

Sirzy there's a fairly long running parkrunning thread - but we chat about all things running, not just parkruns. Come and join us! Some of us are doing 10Ks and half marathons next year as well.

And a spin-off has just started with a plan for a MN 10K next year

There was ages ago. There's a half marathon thread knocking around somewhere too. But I'm always up for a new running thread!
