Hi everyone. I thought we could do with a new shiny thread.

All runners are welcome here :)

A massive well done to all runners this week. I managed to get out today and did 3.5 miles in 32 minutes. It made me feel slightly less guilty about missing parkrun on Saturday (although it is the first since August so not too bad).

Northampton MN park run - fabulous plan!!! Dates? Do we want to make it a magic mile week blathers?

drama I am there at Northampton most weeks, as long as my DCs stay healthy - thank you all for the get well soons for DS1 folks, he is still hacking away with cough so docs tomorrow I think :(

Let's get organised, looking forward to a run tomorrow !

Blatherskite · 10/11/2013 17:00

I'm definitely up for a Northampton MN parkrun :)

OhFourFiftyNineThirtyFive · 10/11/2013 16:46

Hello dramaqueen and welcome back to running!

Looks like all we need now is a date for a Northampton parkrun meet-up with lego, Blathers, you and me (and anyone else who wants to come Grin).

dramaqueen · 10/11/2013 16:13

Hello, I hope you don't mind me gate-crashing but I keep meaning to go to the Northampton park run (as it's my home run) and would love to meet other mumsnetters there. I am returning from a year of injury but have just run 5 miles so am feeling chuffed with myself.

OhFourFiftyNineThirtyFive · 10/11/2013 16:05

Glad you had a good time IsThat. I think you should try to sweet-talk MIL so you can parkrun next week Smile.

DH is out running Grin Grin Grin. This is MASSIVE for him - he knackered his knee about this time last year during a marathon, hardly ran between then and surgery in May, then had horrible complications all through the summer which led to lots of muscle wastage and loss of residual fitness. He was only given the all-clear to run again a week or two ago, and is only gently jogging (on the grass rather than the paths) in the park opposite our house, but he looks good and it feels like a huge step for him.

IsThatTrue · 09/11/2013 19:25

Well done everyone on your runs today :) especially blathers who is now in the 50 club! Envy

We had a great time at Harry Potter world the kids all behaved even ds2 (11mo) mostly.

I really missed parkrun though. I wonder if I can convince mil to have ds2 next sat so I can run?

Well done Iwish! And especially well done for running in the cold and wet!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 09/11/2013 18:10

I managed 31.47 for my debut at Parkrunning today which I'm fairly happy with.

It poured down for the entire time and was only 6 degrees. I think I surprised my colleagues by turning up on such a cold and wet day!

I'm hoping to get along there every 4-6 weeks. DH has an activity that this clashes with so more often than that is probably unrealistic.

Northampton would be too far for me I'm afraid.

OhFourFiftyNineThirtyFive · 09/11/2013 17:17

Well done cinnamon! Blokey sounds like a nightmare - I do hate spitting with a passion.

Glad you had a good one Knackerelli Smile. Balance in everything Smile.

Blathers - I think you had gone off to offer your yummy cake around. Sorry I didn't say goodbye properly - I only had enough dosh on me to pay for an hour (that's how I knew it was 9:03 when I was parking Grin) and I suddenly felt chilly.

So - how about a Northampton parkrun before the end of the year Smile?

Knackerelli · 09/11/2013 14:56

Congrats everyone, and well done to blathers on your 50th! Did a slow one today but as I hadn't run much in the last 3 weeks, and last night had a couple of glasses of wine with a friend, that's really ok!

cinnamongreyhound · 09/11/2013 13:19

Thank you, official time was 26m 33 so 15sec quicker :) actually had some bloke, who has already told me I had an advantage running with my dog (clearly he hasn't ha to stop and pick up poo in a parkrun!), look behind at me and say 'oh you're still there then' same bloke proceeded to spit every 30sec at my feet, run across in front of me and twice speed up so I couldn't pass him :( not quite the parkrun spirit!

Well done Blatherskite and wem and had to laugh at OhFourFiftyNineThirtyFive still being in the car park at 9.03!

wem · 09/11/2013 12:52

Congrats Blatherskite! 50 parkruns is amazing.

My times are all over the place - 34:02 today, a pb by 30s :) and a whole 3 minutes and 34 seconds off two weeks ago!

Blatherskite · 09/11/2013 11:44

You left before I could say goodbye though!

I didn't feel a whole lot better but I did get it done so I'm happy. It certainly wasn't the PB I'd planned though.

Northampton is certainly do-able. One of my run clubs (the ones in the green shirts) tend to descend on the first run of the month so that they can do the magic mile.

OhFourFiftyNineThirtyFive · 09/11/2013 10:44

Well done on your PB cinnamon!

OhFourFiftyNineThirtyFive · 09/11/2013 10:44

I met Blathers and she gave me cake! even though I missed the start because I went the wrong way on the M1

Super speedy results as well - the text arrived before I got home. 31 something, which is fine with me, especially as I was still parking the car at 9:03 Grin.

lego - hope DS is better soon!

Glad the bus came wem!

wem · 09/11/2013 10:44

Well done on the pb cinnamon!

I have no idea how I've done. I think I set off too quick and got out of breath, so walked a few times trying to get it back.

Sorry your ds is poorly StandingOnLego, hope he feels better soon.

cinnamongreyhound · 09/11/2013 10:36

I'm Envy IsThatTrue, even with lots of children is love to go!

Fab volunteering twice in one day blatherskite! Hope you felt better for your 50 :)

Hope your ds is well soon Standingonlego!

So I think I got a pb, about 14s off by my watch :) Hope everyone else had a good run :) still chasing the place

Standingonlego · 09/11/2013 08:34

poorly DS1 means no parkrun for me today :( Run on my behalf folks!

wem · 09/11/2013 08:06

On the bus! Good luck Blathers and everyone else :)

Standingonlego · 08/11/2013 23:05

Northampton is my home run (mentioned up thread so happy to share :))

Would be great to have a get together...I do have a pink top grin

OhFourFiftyNineThirtyFive · 08/11/2013 22:53

Ooh lego, maybe we should come to you next? Which one are you (PM me if you don't want to say here)? I want to go to Huntingdon one week - my godmother lives nearby and I haven't seen her for ages.

Standingonlego · 08/11/2013 22:47

Have a fabulous time tomorrow blathers and OhFour. I will be waving at you from the next ParkRun up the road.

Red shirt for Blathers please!!!! I am excited on your behalf :)

IsTHat I have requested a no kids visit to HP world for my birthday!

Good luck to all first timers like Iwish and hope everyine else has a good run too.

Love parkrun, and lovely to see everyones news on this thread

IsThatTrue · 08/11/2013 21:33

Thanks ohfour it suddenly feels like a bad idea but it's dd's birthday treat so it's just us (me dd, ds1, ds2) and her best friend. Originally DH was supposed to have ds2 but now he's away I have to take the lot! I may well need Wine when I get back!

Blatherskite · 08/11/2013 21:22

I'm volunteering at both parkrun and a half marathon next Saturday - it definitely has to be tomorrow.

I've made a huge pile of cakes so I have to go otherwise I'll eat the lot!

OhFourFiftyNineThirtyFive · 08/11/2013 20:39

Thanks to IsThat to go with Mum-of-the-Year award Smile. Harry Potter World eh?
