Right ladies, I'm in from tomorrow morning. I've got back into WW for my diet.

I'm a size 16-18, 13st5lbs, 5'8", flabby, wobbly, unfit and desperate to shift the back fat that's making my new correctly sized bra lumpy.

I want my toddler to stop burying her face in my fat belly and blowing raspberries that make my boobs jiggle.

I want my DH to comment my nice arse again.

I want my double chin to melt away.

I want to walk up 5 flights of stairs without lactic acid burning my thighs and being out of breath.

I'm not going to stop until I'm size 12, under 11st and feel like I love my body again. I've hated my body for the last 13 years and I want to look in the mirror and feel good.

Shred is phase one. If I have to do all of Jillian's programmes then so be it.

TurnThatFrownUpsideDown · 21/06/2013 12:34

Aw, thank you, Baking. You've made me Blush

Exercise is going great. Been doing the bike every night since April and haven't skipped a day on 30 day shred. Yet...

Yesterday was my final day of level 1.

I'll be attempting level 2 tonight. I watched it through last night with my face like Shock. It is a huuuuuge step up from level 1. Jillian Michaels will be the death of me!

kefybaby · 21/06/2013 10:49

I did the first day of level2 today. Ouch! But I feel so much better for it. I had missed quite a few days (again...) so I need to get back on track. Also started MFP. DD2 is now 4 months old so no more excuses and "baby cakes". My weight has not shifted by a single oz on the last few months (despite the EBF) so clearly I need to control what I eat. Blush

Bakingnovice · 19/06/2013 10:27

Turn how impressive!! You are so inspiring. How's the exercise going this week?

TurnThatFrownUpsideDown · 18/06/2013 00:16

Oh, i also don't drink alcohol (never have done except for my Malibu at Christmas) and i've cut out all fizzy drinks. I blame Irn Bru for me being overweight in the first place. Grin

Since April, i've had i small bottle of Diet Irn Bru (which is rank by the way) and felt horribly bloated afterwards, which has totally put me off fizzy juice.

I think the key thing for me which has made this attempt successful is going cold turkey. No takeaways, no chocolate, no fizzy drinks, no cakes, - just my own food i've made myself. And i feel really good. Not miserable at all. I've found that my energy levels have increased, as has my confidence whereas before i was always down and sleepy.

It really is true what people say. Fad diets etc don't work. I've tried them all and got nowhere. In fact, i still have ten bottles of Maple Syrup from my last year's attempt of the lemonade diet (which i gave up on a after 5 days).

It's all about reprogramming your habits and attitude towards food/exercise.

TurnThatFrownUpsideDown · 18/06/2013 00:06

Aw, thank you! I have to admit, I didn't think i'd last so long. I've not been under 10 stone for years. I'm 5'7 and would like to fit a size 10 comfortably. My inner thighs and tummy have lots of deep stretchmarks though, so I'm not sure how much i can expect these areas to tighten. But i shall persevere nonetheless.

Have just finished day 7 of level one and also 30 mins on my exercise bike. Still can't do a bloody press-up though. I think i'll be doing it Anita-style for the foreseeable future.

My tips probably won't work for the majority of people, but i'll share all the same.

I am not a morning person at all. On my last attempt at weight loss last year, i tried getting up around 6am to exercise each morning, but i didn't stick to it. I've found this time around that i prefer exercising in the evenings. i put the soaps on, or catch up on some TV on my laptop while doing it.

I don't allow myself a night off. I used to justify this with 'but i need a rest day'. I've realised that i would only need a rest day if i was working out a lot. I'm not. 30 mins on an exercise bike doesn't require a day of rest each week. And if i find myself falling asleep and saying 'Oh, i'll just do double tomorrow', i quickly get up and just make myself do it.

I used to be a bit of a binger, and this was always my downfall on previous diet attempts. I would allow myself a little treat, and as soon as i got a taste for it, i'd just continue eating until i felt sick. This time round, i made myself go cold turkey for 6 weeks. No treat foods whatsoever. The cravings for the first 3 weeks were crippling, but i just kept saying no. By the 6th week, i honestly didn't crave anything.

I meal plan a month in advance, so i know and can prepare healthy meals rather than resort to micro stuff like i used to.

I also get my shopping delivered and stick to my list/budget to avoid me getting tempted.

I don't snack. I stick to three meals a day. If i am feeling a bit peckish in between meals, i have a cup of tea or water. I also chew gum a lot. But i've always done this.

I set myself small goals. So i keep telling myself (and have been telling myself since i weighed 12stone) that my target is to lose 5lbs. And when i reach that, i tell myself again that i only want to lose 5lbs.

My weight has pretty much stayed the same this month. I weighed 9st 13lbs on the 1st June and it's fluctuated between that and 10stone 2lbs since, back to 9.13lbs again this morning. The weight loss was very quick to begin with. I lost a stone in about 3 weeks. So now that it's becoming harder to shift this last half a stone, i've got to kick it up a notch which is why i'm trying the 30 day shred.

Bakingnovice · 17/06/2013 22:36

Turn - wow wow wow!! Congrats. I've been dieting and exercising for about 9 weeks and I'm 15lbs down. You've done amazing. Do you have any tips? I'd love to speed up my losses.

Lynca · 17/06/2013 22:20

Nice one hilly!
Wow TTFUD that's awesome!
Baking I'm starting week 4 tomorrow, really enjoying it and I can feel myself improving every week Smile I haven't really been dieting, just eating a lot healthier as I had a very poor diet before I started all this at the end of May, and I'm feeling a lot better for it Smile

hillyhilly · 17/06/2013 21:21

I got up at 6.30 again this morning, quite enjoyed it really. I do need to get weights rather than using cans of beans though!

TurnThatFrownUpsideDown · 17/06/2013 13:29

I'm doing this! So glad i've found this thread.

I'm on day 7 today of level one.

The first three days were unbearable. I was so out of breath. However, last night's was much more manageable.

i think maybe my handweights are too heavy though. So i might need to buy lighter ones, as i struggle to do the side lunge/hand weight exercise all the way through without pausing for a second or two. They are currently 1.5kg. Is that heavy of am i just a weakling?

Anyway, i've been on a 1200-1500cal diet since April. I was 12 stone on the 1st of April and now i weigh - as of this morning - 9stone 13lbs! My BMI has gone from 26 to 21.

Since April, i've been doing half an hour on my exercise bike an evening.

But the weight loss has really slowed down recently, and I'm very untoned, which is why i decided to try 30 day shred.

I took measurements on my first day of my waist and 'love handles'.

Waist - 28inches
Not quite my hips (across my belly button) - 34 inches.

Will be interesting to see if i lose anything.

Bakingnovice · 17/06/2013 13:21

I did shred today. Doing last run of wk 1 tmrw. I feel better doing both. Are you dieting too? I'm doing 5:2 but losses are really slow. Well done on clothes feeling loose! What week are you on?

Lynca · 17/06/2013 12:28

Hi Bakingnovice Smile I have to admit I've missed a few days of shred Blush I haven't missed any of my runs though and I've managed to keep up with each session - and I've found my trousers are now falling down as I run! lol Grin How're you getting on?

Bakingnovice · 16/06/2013 23:35

I'm doing it too. Alongside c25k. Trying to lose a stone. Did it last year and loved it, but I can't do it every days as it buggers my knees up. I don't find I lose weight with it so I'm hoping my running will help.

Lynca - we both seem to be doing shred and c25k. Perhaps we can motivate each other!

hillyhilly · 14/06/2013 17:09

Yay me! I got up at 6.30 this morning to do it the third time! It's getting easier. Though I am about to ruin my efforts with a big weekend

hillyhilly · 13/06/2013 14:36

I just found this message, I have just done my shred for the second time, though with cans of baked beans as I don't have any weights.
Today was easier than Tuesday, I'm hoping I can persuade myself to get out of bed and do it early tomorrow.
The last time I attempted it, I only did it once but I was going to the gym regularly, this time I have no gym membership and less than 9 weeks to go until my holiday.
I'm combining it with Mfp - I've been entering it as circuit training, anyone else on Mfp too?

whenwilltherebegoodnews · 11/06/2013 08:17

I've done it a couple of times now, not as bad as I thought although DH did it with me and had to correct my posture a few times! So there was quite a lot of concentrating.

I think it will get a bit repetitive so going to alternate with exercise classes and swimming. Hopefully I'll see results soon!

kefybaby · 11/06/2013 08:13

Good morning! So, how is everyone getting on? I still have days when I don't get the chance to do the shred (it's just 20 minutes long, I know... Blush) but it is definitely getting easier, even with proper (light!) weights. I might move to level 2 today if I find the courage.

kefybaby · 06/06/2013 22:15

Can I also join you please? I started at the beginning of the month but have only exercised every other day. I need the motivation to stick with it every day. I am also just using tins for now as weights but feel that I should buy proper heavier weights as my arms are not feeling the exercises (unlike my legs - ouch!).

IControlSandwichMonkey · 06/06/2013 22:11

bacon, you might be surprised though, level 3 of the Shred is much easier than level 2 imo. But that's because I find level 2 is quite knee intensive. The plyometric training (jumping) in it can be quite tricky and if you lose form, the potential for injury is quite high.

annaban · 06/06/2013 22:11

This made me laugh...

IControlSandwichMonkey · 06/06/2013 22:09

I much prefer Davina. She doesn't babble on about phoning it in and byoooooooodiful. Grin

bacon · 06/06/2013 22:05

Well, I've been doing it on and off for 16 months its just not practical for me to do it everyday and to be quite frank, it took for nearly 1 year to not feel utterly exhausted and suffer for days after. I wouldnt worry about the 10 days of levels I feel you should be able to complete each level well before moving on. I do level 2 now but havent done it for 2 weeks. My weight lose hasnt been great but my level of fitness has improved and stamina which is also my main reason for doing it. I started on no weights now I use 1.5kg.

I found after a few days the boredom kicked in and I alternate with other DVDs such as Davina's Intense or The Firm. As long as you work out on as many days as you can makes no difference what DVD it is.

IControlSandwichMonkey · 06/06/2013 21:41

I'm doing it too. I need a kick start to my fitness as I've had a couple of months off learning to drive and while I've still been walking and cycling everywhere and doing the odd run where I can, I need something to get me back into proper exercise. I've done it all the way through a few times before and it is effective.

If find it a bit cardio-lite so I either do two levels back to back or go for a run afterwards.

My weights are 5k but first time I ever did it they were 3k. I think if you can get hold of proper weights, they make all the difference.

annaban · 06/06/2013 21:35

Hi Lynca!

Snap, I didn't weigh in either, but I do feel much better alreadySmile

I'm using 500ml evian bottles filled with water!!

I'll check in after the weekend, see if we've managed to be good xx

Lynca · 06/06/2013 21:00

Hi annaban :)
I started on 3rd June - haven't missed a day yet either Grin . I didn't actually weigh myself before I started but I know roughly what I am and I have a target weight. I want to lose a couple of stone ideally. I did take my measurements though just to see if it's working. I'll probably re-measure between levels.
I'm currently using heinz tomato soup cans - they aren't very heavy but I'm pretty skint atm and would consider weights a 'luxury' Blush . So heinz will have to do for now!
Just finished day 4 and it seemed slightly easier than the previous workouts so it seems to be doing something at least!
