I've been going for pram jogs for half an hour interspersed with walking as my running abilities have taken a pasting since getting pg. Also doing pramactive 3 times a week which is a bit like circuits - we're about to move to woking though - anyone from around there and can recommend a similar thing??

Doing well this week until awful night on Tuesday night which resulted in minimal exercise yesterday and eating a bucket of rubbish. Bit self indulgent today too - back on the wagon tomorrow!

Between 1-2 hours usually - the distance tends to be broken up with doing stuff like shopping, docs appointments etc as I walk everywhere during the week. I will usually go for a dedicated walk just for the sake of it in the afternoon for an hour.

Sophiathecheesefairy · 21/02/2013 19:22

So how long does it take you to do 6 miles?

YellowWellies · 21/02/2013 17:43

Rich man you've inspired me - I used to love BMF - right am going to sign up for buggy fit and find out if there is a BMF local to me or if I'll have to head into Edinburgh. I'm loving my long walks now spring is coming - today and yesterday I managed 6 miles each day (and 5 miles a day on Mon and Tues) - the hills are getting easier even with the buggy.

Sophiathecheesefairy · 21/02/2013 17:20

So am hoping that I can sty on track to week whist in Northern Ireland. Packing my running stuff and a load of will power!

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 21/02/2013 14:07

Sorry- that was long and largely irrelevant- the crux is that with very intense workouts that combine sprint cardio and weightbearing exercises (press ups, sit ups, squats etc) I find I get a very good pay off for time invested, and at the moment, time is what I'm really short of.

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 21/02/2013 14:06

Moving

In London I did BMF once a week on a Sunday morning in addition to low level cardio (cycle or run 6 miles to work 5 days a week- cycling I did both ways, running I just used to do one way and get the tube back). The BMF totally transformed my muscle tone- I had really defined arms, and also all the sprint work involved made my cardio fitness go through the roof so I could actually get up the demon hill on my cycle and not have to get off and push.

Second experience was in Dubai and there I did a military style bootcamp 3 x a week- 2 circuit classes and one running class. Within 3 months, my 1 mile run time went from 7mins 30 secs to 6 mins 19secs and again, my muscle tone improved beyond belief (could do 60+ sit ups in one minute and 70+ full press ups, and hold the plank for 3 mins). I think I am quite lucky in that I do seem to gain muscle quite easily- I used to row in college and I was ripped, despite my massive bar bill Grin.

I just think the benefit is being in an environment where you are being pushed to the absolute max (as in, feel like you're going to die or puke). I've also had very good results with a couple of personal trainers but its just crazy expensive and good trainers are very hard to find IMO.

Richmanpoor - what type of results have you achieved before with bootcamp? How often etc do you do it?

I have a very wobbly tummy that needs to go, but I can't stop eying at the moment an have lost my will power Hmm

rowingboat · 21/02/2013 13:12

Hi all,
I am looking for a group to help me lose up to a stone. I know it's not loads, but I do struggle to stick to diets so hoped I could jump in here?
I am doing 1500 cals a day and hoping to lose about 1lb per week, plus a bit of exercise to move things along.

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 21/02/2013 11:17

Well done all- glad to see there are still quite a few of us hanging on in there.

Been tough these last 4 days but have stayed on the wagon(ish) and definitely a lot less puffy than I was when I got back from my hols. Greek salad tonight (I make with reduced fat feta) and a cheeky glass of wine and........drum roll......The Killing III which has arrived from Amazon at last- yay yay yay !! (you have to know how utterly shite tv is in Hong Kong to fully appreciate my excitement here).

Think I've also found the HK equivalent of British Military Fitness/ Military Style Bootcamp which always works really well for me in terms of quick results on fitness and muscle tone. Have to do the 4 hr introductory course next weekend. Dh has manfully stepped up to the task of entertaining both kids.

YellowWellies · 21/02/2013 10:34

Bloody hell Sophia hope I copy you this week!!!!!!

Sophiathecheesefairy · 21/02/2013 10:18

Got on the scales this morning and am 11 stone 1 Grin I can not believe it, was 11 10 at the end of last week. I am so hoping that the scales have not gone tits up. I daren't get on them again incase it has changed!

What I am hoping is that it was the culmination of the last few weeks hard work.

crazypaving · 21/02/2013 07:52

glad things are improving nano!

I've stayed at 11st 1lb which I figure is fine as my 4lb loss last week was possibly water too, so 6lb total over 3 weeks is perfectly respectable.

struggling to avoid chocolate. seriously, could just live on the stuff. and dying to break the 11st barrier and go down to 10st 13, that'll be a big psychological victory.

daisychain76 · 20/02/2013 22:48

Hi all, posted once on last thread. Have been doing SW since start of Dec butt only lost 6 and a half pounds (was 7 then put half back on). Need to get serious as being a bridesmaid in 2 months and can?t zip the dress up! Also youngest dc is 5 months on Sunday so getting past the stage l can blame it on just having had a baby. Going to really try for a stone off by Easter. It is inspiring to read the pounds dropping off on this thread.

NanoNinja · 20/02/2013 17:47

Wow, some great losses! Well done everyone! Weighed in this morning at 57 kg. which is 1.5 kg down from start weight and 3 kg away from where I want to be. But, have been here before only to see weight go up by 1.5 kg the next week. Am setting no store by numbers!

All that said, am feeling much better now that I have swapped weight watchers plan and am also back to walking every day.

Bonne chance for the rest of the week!

Sophiathecheesefairy · 20/02/2013 16:15

I am mostly worried about my pelvic floor and running! Or trap door as detective so appropriately called.

Squeezed into a pair of size 12 pre preg jeans, mom so they are fat face so a little generous but chuffed as they are really comfy. Treated myself to a air f moccasins from fat face to go with and they are so comfy. Feel positively spring like!

YellowWellies · 20/02/2013 08:29

Sophia I'm itching to dust off my running kit too - though its been so long I think I'll need to start back on the couch to 5k programme first - or I'll do myself an injury! Just need to find some time without DS attached to my boob....

Sophiathecheesefairy · 19/02/2013 22:03

11stone 10bs at weigh in. Am copying you yw

Not doing too bad this week. Am happy with 2 lbs a week off at the mo as I know it will stay off. Though of to NI on Sun which is usually fatal. Might take my running kit. Hmm

Me too Utopian, I was always a savoury person, now I could happily stuff myself with chocs and fudge. And Baileys, I love Baileys! I've got a defiant constipated toddler, Crazypaving - got to take her to the docs tomorrow as eczema has flared up really badly on her face. I'm dreading it, last time she had a full blown tantrum in the waiting room, lay on the floor kicking her legs and screaming. A very kind man carried dd2 into the docs room so I could drag dd1 in. Otherwise we'd prob still be there now 3 months later. Hope we don't have a repeat performance tomorrow... So Save me a place in the nuthouse, Crazy, I'll be along midmorning tomorrow if not before!

utopian99 · 19/02/2013 12:43

Another who's always starving here, plus my taste has changed in favour of a lot more sugar whereas before and while i was pg it was more savoury.

No one's told me they've noticed I've lost weight.. Sad

crazypaving · 19/02/2013 12:01

madmonkeys I'm always starving too. on top of sleep deprivation, screaming baby and defiant toddler I'm amazed I'm not in the nuthouse.

MadMonkeys · 19/02/2013 11:44

hi everyone. The new scales arrived yesterday and I love them already as they said I'm 69.6kg this morning... Whereas the old ones said 74kg last week! But I don't know if I've actually lost any weight, wil have to wait til next Tues to find out as Tues will be weigh day for me now. Ive cut out the tonnes of cake I was eating and I'm starving all the time. Feeling a bit less lardy though!

Iheartpasties · 19/02/2013 10:26

well two people have tolod me today that they can see I have lost weight. It's hard isn't it? I felt a bit defensive and sort of offended the first time (if I am honest) but I smiled and nodded and said 'yes!', but then walked away and flet a bit gutted. Then my DH made a comment too at dinner time. It's a compliment I suppose but it feels gutting to know that everyone saw how big I was before. I liked to pretend that no one had noticed me ballooning up.
