Ah bless your DS DrNo! Hope she loves him too!

monkey bless you, sounds stressful. Bet you're glad that's sorted.

Day of ironing tomorrow ladies. Twat that I am. I may throw caution to the wind and just iron the front of clothes Shock. Going to do recovery run soon then DD got harriers. Chuffed as she loves it. DD3 fallen asleep on the kitchen table! Grin I've took a pic, I'll have to put it on, so cute.

rhet excellent, 2 births in one thread would be a dualathon . Hope DP ok.

ibby Grin at torch. I have one but not yet been able to fashion it to look good. Wink

DrNo and wheely I have in my clutches two black headbands freshly purchased from the Den of Doom and they only had S/M and L/XL left so I got S/M as to be honest, they are huge anyway. So PM me your details, I don't think they'll cost more than £2 to post so £5 will cover it. I wouldn't usually be bothered about reimbursement but I'm a bit skint. BlushBlush I'll post them tomorrow!!

Quick catch up as am knackered. Was in the car at 7.30 am to get ds1 to school, got on M1 to Watford to find huge tailbacks due to fog and accidents. After ducking and diving down the completely snarled up back roads, I screeched into the hospital at 9.55. By some miracle I found a parking space (only £4! Hmm) and we got in at 10, but I tell you I had steam coming out of my ears. Two hours to go 16 miles!

Appointment went really well but ds2 will have to go in for an endoscopy. Got him to school for lunch, and will be leaving soon to pick up!

Will catch up later, hope you're all ok - did a quick scan and no sign of Rhet - let yet?!

rhetorician · 22/11/2011 13:58

drNo because i let her put the toys away rather than making her leave...I thought it was a reasonable principle to observe - that tidying away is important? I don't think she meant it in a nasty way - I just feel a bit touchy at the moment about letting dd away with things. Battle of wills vs pick your battles

achilles - not a good niggle to have - maybe back off the mileage or intensity for a couple of weeks (it's always an overuse injury) - better than being sidelined for months on end. 45 min 10k - wow! you are an inspiration, given that you only started seriously a few years back. Great stuff.

ibbydibby · 22/11/2011 13:44

First FAnny does rubbing instead of running, and now it seems I have a "touch" Grin

DrNortherner · 22/11/2011 13:42

moshi gutted about ankle. How bad is it? Hope it recovers soon.

I felt a bit if achilles pain last night but seems to have abated so panic over. Did a drill sesh last night and teh coach said I should aim to do the same 10k next year and do it in 45 mins He said this is achievable.....

Fanny would love a headband please, will pay you back. Pink if poss or if not I am happy with any colour. Thanks Smile

Peach great birth report, alomst sounds like the perfect birth, really pleased for you.

rhet your dd2 will be here soon I'm sure. Why did that woman call you soft?

Lol at Katy Perry being famous woman in the world Grin

Ds has gone to school today with a note for a certain girl telling her he loves her, god love him. I hope she doesn't break his heart

orangeLFDThead · 22/11/2011 12:56

Sorry about the ankle moshi
ooh souds positive Rhet. Hope you have time to recover from your cold before it all kicks off.
You made me laugh with your touch ibby
Good job I did a trial drive I got lost. Loads of roads with no name posts on them Angry. Anyway think I now know where I'm going but it seems so much further when you don't know where you are going

ibbydibby · 22/11/2011 12:33

Sorry about ankle Moshi.

Rhet with DS2, I woke at midnight with sharp pains at the top of both hips. They died down and came back at exactly 5 minute intervals. no mild contractions for days in this case. Fretted about going into hospital in case not in labour. Got there at 2.30am only to discover was 8cm dilated. Bargain!

Still knackered but now lunchtime then need to go out to buy DS2 a brthday cake. He made himself a little "I am 11" badge this morning!

MoshiMoshi · 22/11/2011 11:57

Fuckety fuckety fuck Turned ankle over when running today so had to abort before I got into the faster miles. Was looking forward to doing 4x 1M (6:50, 6:40, 6:30, 6:20 pace) w/2:30 recoveries.

rhetorician · 22/11/2011 11:52

sticky yes - I know - lots of people seem to have mild contractions on and off for days with second babies...

I am full of cold and am tired after a bad night's sleep plus 14 miles of running Sun and Mon, so think I will not run today - but will run home from work tomorrow (the 14km route, probably)

I'd like to get to 200k in November - I've about 45 to go, but events may overtake my plans

stickyLFDTfingers · 22/11/2011 10:46

rhet Grin I hope you're right, those last few days are always the longest. Please give your DP my love.

orange your priorities are definitely right! Housework definitely increases the more time you give to it, so don't give it much time, that's my advice!! I am the queen of the dash round the house in an hour approach :)

moshi sounds grim, hope that stage is over soon (I wonder do they sell hypnotherapy CD for dealing with that sort of pain and stress too?)

ibby love that you tried to light up the whole sky with your head torch! Good luck with the staying awake!

monkey hope you've made it to delightful Watford and are getting some useful advice.

Non running day today, so will be shredding (with my pitiful unweighty weights) before lunch. I'm still on a high since my run yesterday. Running is better than drugs :)

ibbydibby · 22/11/2011 10:28

Rhet how exciting.

Orange enjoy your drive. The housework will wait.

Knackered now as not used to early morning running. Met up with "running boys" (that's how DH refers to them). There are 4 of them, including DH, but one does not usually run on a Tuesday. So 3 of us today. Ran down my road in pitch black, head torch did not really help (though as one of running/rubbing boys pointed out later on, I had it angled incorrectly and it was pointing up at sky Blush. Anyway got to meeting place where other 2 were, and one of them said "mornin' " - that is how dark it is, they couldn't even see me. Did wonder if runnign gait or build would give the game away but maybe not at that time of the morning.

Anyway had a good run, sitting on the settee with laptop and headset, ready to do interactive student tutorial. Hoping that I don't nod off before it starts.

rhetorician · 22/11/2011 10:14

lovely day here, hoping to get out for a few miles later on. DP had mild contractions in the night, but they've gone away again now...I'd say thread baby no. 2 will be here within the week though :o

sfxmum · 22/11/2011 09:57

orange sounds like a plan, housework will still be there and no one is in danger if you don't do it, have a good run

monkey best of luck

moshi hope you are winning the war on bureaucracy

my paperwork is often out of date simply because I loathe going to my consulate, they are most incompetent, rude bunch of bastards imaginable, they seem to run a racket in there, they are loathsome. if there is one think uniting the expat community is the hatred of that consulate

orangeLFDThead · 22/11/2011 09:49

How is the toe today moshi?
Hope you enjoyed the run with the boys Ibbydibby
Hope everthing goes well monkey. I once had a hospital appt at st marys paddington, I was 3 hours late as coming from manchester way and the motorway was a nightmare. I kept ringing them to keep them informed (I was not driving) and they kept saying thats fine just get here when you can and they still saw me despite being 3 hours late. For the second appt we come down the night before and stayed in a hotel.
My plan tomorrow was to drive to where the race is and run 9 miles of the route then just walk the last mile back to the car. But I looked at the route last night and it is very complicated, alot of going on smaller roads. If run it I would have to write all the directions on my arm and see me getting lost. Im a bit disappointed. So I have sort of adapted the route so it more straightforward covering the main bulk of it and hopefully the same hills. So I'm now off to drive it in preparation for tomorrow. Was supposed to be doing housework. But what the hell the dinner is in the slow cooker thehouse will have to stay a mess as I need to know where I am runing tomorrow [orangehead getting priorities right]

WishIwasCherryMenlove · 22/11/2011 07:51

Monkey hope your hospital trip goes ok, both appointment and traffic!
Ugh Watford hospital, still haven't got over having to stay on postnatal ward

I have been back at work a year today. Already in office. Time flies when you're having fun!

liath · 22/11/2011 07:48

Did you have fun with the running boys, Ibbydibby?

liath · 22/11/2011 07:47

Sadly not, Bonkers. He's hoping to lose weight by training for the run. However it's chucking down this morning so not sure how keen he'll be to accompany me on a hill rep session. Poor bugger was very ill last year and all the medication he's had to take has caused a lot of weight gain.

bonkersLFDT20 · 22/11/2011 06:42

Good luck Monkey. I am not sure what would stress me out more...the journey or the appointment!

bonkersLFDT20 · 22/11/2011 06:39

Liath oooooh, does your DH have the body to suit that Ninja outfit? Yummy!

ibbydibby · 22/11/2011 06:09

Monkey good luck with appt today, and well done to your DS1 for trivial pursuit answer.....

Peach great birth story. Like you, birth of DS2 (11 years ago today!!) was a doddle compared to DS1, so much less stressful.

Ange well done in Southwold, am tempted to sign up for this next year.

DrNo fab time, have you set yourself a new target for 2012?

Fanny fab time also, great that you have maintained your previous HM time.

Rhet, how is DP?

Up early this morning as missed running club last night, as at school meeting. So running at 6.30am with DH "running boys". They go at 6.30am 4 mornings a week. Why, why, why did I say I would do it. DH still snuggled up in bed and I am not.

monkeyLFDTwench · 21/11/2011 23:35

peach I think we can spare the world the sight of DH's flapping nutsacks ......

Speaking of strange, ds1 came out with a great one yesterday. He was playing Trivial Pursuit with DH and was asked the question who was the owner of the winner of the 1977 St Leger Cup? (it was something like that). Guessing it must be the Queen I tried to give him a clue and said it must be the most famous woman in the world. His answer?

Katy Perry.

liath · 21/11/2011 23:16

Great birth story, Peach, well done. I enjoyed reading the race reports, too - really inspiring for a novice like me.

PMSL at Monkey's DH. And talking of DH's in inappropriate clothing my DH is planning on running the Deerstalker in this www.amazon.co.uk/Ninja-Morphsuit-Adult-Height-Between/dp/B005DQ1WYE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1321917187&sr=8-1.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 21/11/2011 23:13

Oh, and good luck monkey, with the appointment.
