LET'S FUCKING DO IT....!

OP posts:
futurity · 22/11/2011 20:04

I agree...Garmin is a pain when it comes to loading onto my Mac..I often have to unplug and plugin again to get it to behave (and cross my fingers!)

sfxmum · 22/11/2011 20:02

DrN you look fine and weirdly I found a pic of me in that link Shock

monkey glad things went well

moshi hope it feels better afaik toes affect balance, best have it checked

wheely how about water icing? simpler and can use assorted flavours or an orange glaze/

I have been thinking carefully about goals for next year and alternating between getting excited and energised and feeling like I want to hide or run away screaming Grin
so best declare it I will work toward the 30min 5k and do ParkRun regularly
I will work to do get the 10K to 1hr

and I will get the business up and running hopefully with the side social enterprise bit along with it LFDT

rhetorician · 22/11/2011 20:01

peach calm down dear. Nowt happening...poor DP can't say 'ooh' or sigh loudly or anything without me going 'are you alright?' all the bloody time...

garmin doesn't always load first fifth time - it's the one thing about them that is really bloody annoying

sticky great news about job interview - is it nearby(ish)? might mess up your marathon plans though (I am only even considering it because I have leave due in the autumn term)

have had good day today - DD has been brill (or 'not brill, brilliant' as she would undoubtedly correct me!); no run, but coldy. Will run home from work tomorrow instead - a good 8 miles or so.

fannybanjo · 22/11/2011 19:59

DrNo found you as I now have your name... Grin You look great, tell you what love, a damn sight better than I do on those official photos. You look like you are bloody going for it. Luckily there isn't one of me from Conwy

Moshi sorry to hear about your ankle, are you icing it? Don't do too much rubbing though, only make it worse Wink

OP posts:
fannybanjo · 22/11/2011 19:52

DrNo and Wheely I've PM'd you both, don't be worrying about the money, seems daft. I will post them tomorrow then you can both be Fannies! Grin DrNo oh your link doesn't work!

bonkers mine sometimes takes a few goes, keep trying. How did you find training with it?

sticky I've had the email re GNR and priority place. I am not sure now, I have to say for what they want monetary wise and the cost of me getting up there, I'm not sure it's worth it just to run down a dual carriageway. It actually is my least favourite half to run, yes the atmosphere brilliant but not sure whether I can afford £88 right now just to guarantee a place in the GNR. It's a long way off isn't it? I may just leave it and hedge my bets with the ballot, what will be with be. I may decide to do a Marathon in early October so won't really want the GNR right bang before it either. Can't believe now I have the option, I am not sure!! Hmm Oh I don't know what to do! I will regret it won't I if I don't do it again...

OP posts:
rhetorician · 22/11/2011 19:37

hmm, bonkers not sure - did you plug it directly into your computer's USB? and then you click 'upload' and you should see it under the 'activities' tab...

bonkersLFDT20 · 22/11/2011 19:29

Garmin 205 help.

Got the "device" - used it for the first time today...huzzah!

I've got a Garmin Connect Account. I've downloaded and installed the Garmin communicator plugin (and tested it), but when I go to upload, none of my activities are detected. I can see my run on the watch still.

What am I doing wrong?

Sorry for the me, me, but I'm sulking like a child with a broken toy as I want it to work NOW!!!!

It's recognised the device (205 and ref. number)

Thanks.

MoshiMoshi · 22/11/2011 19:12

Ankle is a bit fat - thanks for asking. I have a cankle. Shock But it has been worse and I think I can go on the G Trainer for a bit and it will be fine. I think running on the dodgy toe destabilised me and caused me to wobble on it today when I was running with the dog. That'll learn me. Sad

futurity · 22/11/2011 19:01

Thanks wheely ...I shall look out for it.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 22/11/2011 18:55

Great news on the interview sticky

Sad Moshi, how does it feel tonight?

DrNo, your photos are great! Looks dreich though!!! Bless your DS, what a sweetie!

monkey, glad you survived the appointment!

Got MIL here now and DD1 beside herself, which is lovely. Must wake Kaye now and try to get her to stay awake for feed! Midwife came today and she has only lost 5% of birthweight so that's good news, she must be drinking enough!! Got to take her for her hearing test on Thursday so will be first trip out! Very exciting!

Ooooh, Rhet is quiet, wonder if anything exciting happening!!!

orangeLFDThead · 22/11/2011 18:17

Ah how cute Drno, how old is he?
Glad you got there ok monkey. Will it be a long wait for endoscopy? I had loads of them as a kid, and as an adult. Never had a problem, I always thought it was great to have time off school.
Good news about the interview Stick fx.
Rhet Im in the pick your battles camp. Ignore the silly woman.

Wheelybug · 22/11/2011 17:22

Oh and moshi - nightmare re ankle... What news ? How bad?

stickyLFDTfingers · 22/11/2011 17:19

no drno, I'm a lot less fast than you and would still be Shock at not wearing a technical tee! You do look like you're praying in the second one Wink - but clearly it worked! You do not, repeat not, look like a bag of shite. Sorry it didn't work out for your DS. They're hilarious aren't they?! I also have a "chatty" DD2, according to the last parents evening :)

rhet Im sure you're over it by now, but don't take any of it to heart re DD. They go through that stage (I remember being panic stricken - what if she's running over the edge of a cliff and she doesn't stop when I tell her Hmm). LIke you say, pick your battles. All will be well.

fanny well impressed by your cottage industry in head bands there. Sure you're on your way to being a millionaire (said like Delboy!) Day of ironing? Confused

monkey aaah, I hate things like that. Can't bear being in a hurry in the car. Glad you made it in time.

sfx chuckle!

So, I have an interview! Friend from old firm tells me her new firm is looking for someone like me :) As an added bonus, interview's not til January so don't have to worry about it interfering with Christmas. Yay!

Wheelybug · 22/11/2011 17:18

Oh and LOL at the clip SFX !!! What a nightmare !

Wheelybug · 22/11/2011 17:17

Ooh thank you fanny. Of course I will reimburse - I will pm you my details and then you can give me your paypal details.

futurity I have posted the book today so, if rOyal mail are to be believed it mighGrint be with you tomorrow.

drno - the link doesn't link you through to the pics but I have managed a look. What a nightmare re the non-tech tshirt, but you still look great. Official pics are so eve dive
Aren't they? I still haven't ordered one from GSR even though I wanted a record from every new distance but they were so terrible and expensive I haven't done it.

monkey glad things went ok today althoug endoscopy sounds stressful.

Happy birthday to your ds ibby

Very excited about the imminency of the rhet-let !!! Hope your dp is ok and your cold clears up.

I did a gentle 5k on the TM today instead of a swim as I won't be able to run pre swim tomorrow as I have a meeting at
Dd2's nursery. I told dd1 I watched tv and she called lazy.... I did point out I did 5k at same time!|

Just finished making rocky road for PTA shopping evening tomorrow and a dairy free choc brownie for a friends birthday. Just need to work out what to do instead of the cream cheese frosting ........

DrNortherner · 22/11/2011 17:01

God listen at me 'I had to wear a no technical tee' FFS, sound like a right running twat.

DrNortherner · 22/11/2011 16:57

I ran for Brainwave - my work nominated charity so I had to wear a big, baggy, non technical tshirt, my mate knotted hers to make it look more stylish, something I will do in the future.........

DrNortherner · 22/11/2011 16:56

help me jesus

DrNortherner · 22/11/2011 16:53

debi we have a hotel in Manchester, I will ask the sales manager tomorrow, there is a possibility they might know!

fanny thanks so much for the headband, will PM you my details.

Ds didn't give this girl his note, he said it wasn't the right time. He got a yellow card of his teacher for 'continually chatting and disrupting the class' so he wasn't in the right mood apparently Grin Not sure where he gets the chattiness from....Hmm

rhet no achilles soreness today, just a stiff neck oddly enough. Hill sesh tonight at running club so that should test it, then a well earned rest for me tomorrow. Ignore silly woman saying you are too soft, sometimes if you wait for toddlers to tidy up after themselves you'd be there till Christmas.

Official pics are out for my 10k. I look like a bag of shite. Who would pay £28 per pic is beyone me. Will try and link later.

monkeyLFDTwench · 22/11/2011 16:42

OMG that dog clip! My dog did that to me last winter I'm the school car park - slipped out of the boot and sprinted for the fields with me running ineffectually behind him. Since he can do 45 mph (about 40 more than me) I had no hope.

He took himself off on an hour long excursion of the surrounding fields, shitting merrily away to his hearts content, leaving me to be shouted at by the barking mad lady who lives next to the school about pheasants (wtf?)

He finally came back when it got dark and cold and started raining. I had to drive home covered in mud head to foot - looked like I'd done a commando course.

DebiTheScot · 22/11/2011 16:30

m,,,,,, wfg (ghght4rgtt5rrt423
Thanks ds2 for that.

DrNo can you use your hotel contacts to find out when the Rugby League Magic Weekend is next year? It's been announced as being in Manchester at the Etihad stadium but they've not announced yet when it is and I want to know so I can book a hotel before the prices go sky high. They're announcing it on Friday but if you tell me now I promise not to tell!
I've guessed at it being the bank holiday weekend at the start of June and have already booked a hotel as there was no cancellation fee but I'm stressing about it being the wrong weekend and having to pay hundreds for a room!

MoshiMoshi · 22/11/2011 16:13

Great result today monkey. Whoever said being a FT mum wasn't as stressful as being a lawyer eh? My DH probably...

MoshiMoshi · 22/11/2011 16:11

I am sitting waiting for DS to come out of school, crying with laughter at that clip sfx. Grin Please don't let my dog ever do that.

sfxmum · 22/11/2011 15:50

drN do tell how he got on Smile

orange I am a really weird about knowing where I am going I can't really relax unless I know the rout and have a picture of the destination in mind, I even use Google EarthBlush

mostly study day today, off to teacher consult later, Ia sked dd what the teacher was likely t tell us and she said 'minisfx is a lovely girl but a bit shy of new teachers' Grin

sfxmum · 22/11/2011 15:46
