LET'S FUCKING DO IT....!

OP posts:

Thanks bonkers, well it seemed like a better night's sleep to me. I got 30 mins at 11, then another 30 at 12, then I think an hour at 3.30, then another 90mins at 5. She is feeding sleeing on the job now and usually am able to get her back to bed in basket ok, as it is morning now so she thinks, "ahh I can sleep"

Bf seems to be going well. Just need her to feed for a bit longer before falling asleep I think, but I have very little pain now as her latch is pretty good and she is having plenty of wet nappies. Midwife coming to do heel prick test today so not sure if they weigh her today, or wait till she is a week old.

As to running, well the plan is to start after Xmas if I feel ok, but we'll see. After DD1 I started back when she was about 3 months, though I wasn't all that into running before. It will depend on how she is feeding wise and sleepwise as to if I can manage to get away!

bonkersLFDT20 · 24/11/2011 07:01

How much sleep did you get Peach. I bet baby Kate will be sleeping better than my 2 YO very soon. He's a wee devil.

It took me 2 YEARS to get back into running with DS2. How do you do it?!

How's BF going? I was training to be a BF counsellor but got thrown off the course didn't have the time to complete it.

Hope the broken arse cream does what it's meant to. Do you think anyone believed your DP when he said "it's for someone else"?

peachLFDTsmuggler · 23/11/2011 23:32

Kicked in the peanuts Grin.

Well hello there Mrsweds, lovely to see you! Might have to see if I can get a photo of the milk drunk face to post. All ony phone for now as (disaster) we can't ding the USB connector to download camera pics to pooter and now the flipping memory card is full!!! Goingvto get new card tomorrow at shops and order replacement cable off interweb. A day without a camera with a new baby is unthinkable!!

Got into bed while leaving Kate downstairs with DP to see if I could get a bit of kip. 30 mins, hurrah! Hope she sleeps a bit tonight as I didn't manage a nap today and got things to do tomorrow! Well, midwife in morning then got first trip out (exciting) in afternoon for hearing test. MIL taking DD to playgroup in morning. Think she is dying to get back there after being cooped up in house.

Cannot believe in a matter of weeks will (fingers crossed) be out there running with you guys (you still all run don't you?!? Wink)

in other good news, DP went and picked up a prescription for me for haemaroid cream, to mend my poor broken arse...

fannybanjo · 23/11/2011 23:28

Oh cherry you've been wedding dress shopping?! Let's start a special thread just for that please!

fannybanjo · 23/11/2011 23:25

I could live off seafood. Love it, octopus, tiger prawns, oysters - just given 'em all to me.

OP posts:
fannybanjo · 23/11/2011 23:24

hmm I'm sure penes is the plural of penis but don't want to google on iPad as DH will get very suspicious!

OP posts:
monkeyLFDTwench · 23/11/2011 23:18

Is penes a real word?!

Ds1 came home from school a few years back and said he knew the proper name for his willy - his peanuts. Which ds2 found hilarious, and kept shouting "ow ow, I've been kicked in the peanuts" at the most embarrassing times and places.

DebiTheScot · 23/11/2011 23:13

quick check in as been mega busy.

Thanks DrNo for checking. Really appreciate that. Must be another reason then that the hotels all cost more for the wknd of the 8th ish june then.
Hope the garmin is ok!

monkey I was telling dh about your dh's bits and he says he'll shred with me tomorrow night in loose boxers!

This thread is becoming a shred thread with a wee bit running thrown in occasionally! (I mean the occasionally is on the thread, you might be running all the time although I'm not sure with the amount of time some of us spend on here!) Love fanny's shred report.

The moshi on a moped line made me nearly wet myself too!

Are any of you in your 20s? If not I might be the youngest here. I'm only just not in my 20s.

rhet I bet your sick notes are better forged that some of the notes I got from kids to get out of doing PE. I had one who ran up the stairs to give me the note saying she couldn't do PE as her ankle was sore. There was a long word (can't remember what) that she thought would make it sound more plausible that she'd attempted to spell 3 times before replacing it with an easy word.

ibbydibby · 23/11/2011 23:04

uggggggggh seafood - need a yuk emoticon.

ibbydibby · 23/11/2011 23:03

ummm did anyone else struggle with "penes" in fanny's post Blush? Thought you meant pennies. Then pens. Blush Blush

DH and I have just spent 5 minutes looking up location of Runners Need. Is on Strype Street. Had got idea into my head it was actually at (or next to) Lpool St station. Thanks all.

Off to bed now, really

rhetorician · 23/11/2011 23:00

...oh, a completely inexplicable love of seafood in all its forms

rhetorician · 23/11/2011 23:00

well ibby if so, you got the running genes, and I got...something else

ibbydibby · 23/11/2011 22:59

rhet both my parents were born there.....we could be related...

off to bed

MrsWednesday · 23/11/2011 22:58

I can't keep up with you all either but I'm lurking.

I'm also shredding. Got my DVD today and did Level 1 - overwhelmed at the thought of double-shredding and doing two levels in one go, I had to go for a lie-down after doing just the one. I watched the DVD on my laptop and half way through the cat jumped up, stood on the keyboard and in one paw-stroke turned the screen on its side which interrupted my rhythm slightly.

Just to say a big congrats to Peach - the photos are lovely and you sound so happy. The thought of the milk-drunk baby face made me feel all broody (only for a minute or two though).

Hat, your trip sounds amazing and the positive stuff about us middle-aged women is very heartening and inspiring.

DrNo and Fanny, fab match reports and amazing times.

Have accepted a friend request from one of you but I'm not sure who - my initials are SW.

Will try and keep up better in future...

fannybanjo · 23/11/2011 22:54

rhet I give you kudos for educating yourself about sweets. I need to read far more than just Mumsnet.

possum if only you could hide my posts, you'd then have a better chance of catching up! Maybe we should summarise every evening the highlights of the day...

monkey I lie about ironing to make me look good. only ironed for 2 hours today Actually your house sounds just like mine but with more penes in it.

OP posts:
rhetorician · 23/11/2011 22:47

ibby now - or at least recent(ish) - read it in some smartarse magazine. It might have been this book

Great Yarmouth - that's where my ancestors were from (on my dad's side)

backwardLFDTpossom · 23/11/2011 22:45

Can't keep up... waaaaah!

Exciting job opportunity has come up. Am stressed about applying for it already. Feel like crying, no idea why. Fuck fuck fuck...

ibbydibby · 23/11/2011 22:42

Monkey love your DH bounty story.

monkeyLFDTwench · 23/11/2011 22:40

wheely no offence from this old gimmer. I run because it makes me feel good about myself and means my arse has marginally less chance of being viewable from outer space. Not to keep up with the young 'uns!

ibbydibby · 23/11/2011 22:39

Rhet is that now or in the past? (ie tooth decay?)

A similar(ish) fact that always fascinates me is that when piped water was introduced to communities, appendicitis rates always went up. (think reduced exposure to water-borne bacteria was cause)

Re industry - there is fantastic museum in Gt Yarmouth (of all places) called the Time and Tide Museum, depicting in particular the rise and fall of the fishing industry. It's fascinating, it is tucked in a little known part of GY - but still seems to get plenty of visitors.

There's a mock up of a street scene (like in York museum) with little tableaux on display with sound tracks. There is a particular one which DCs and I love, of a shrimp fisherman "Me an the wife, we're a team....I catch 'em, she cook 'em" all said in a very long drawn out dialect.

Thanks for Liverpool St running shop info

rhetorician · 23/11/2011 22:35

wheely I think we were winding you up...and succeeding!! age is no barrier and the great thing about being a runner is that I think you (probably) feel less sensitive about it because you simply feel it less. Most of my contemporaries would struggle to run a mile, let alone 13 of them...

fanny no, I just checked, I am definitely still a middle-aged woman (alas)

monkeyLFDTwench · 23/11/2011 22:35

Honestly fanny you wouldn't want to, our house is chaos most all of the time, there's always someone running around with a pair of pants on their head or yelling "I dunna poo!" (and that's just DH Wink). I don't think anything chez monkey would be ironed to your exacting standards either and we eat a lot of ready mash. But you would be welcome to visit any time as long as you bring your iron and your own spuds.

fannybanjo · 23/11/2011 22:34

Hahaha wheely you won't have offended anyone!!! It wasn't an insult, was an aim that you have. Rhet and Monkey have more wisdom than us 36 year olds. They realise that marathons are for crazy biatchs.

OP posts:
Wheelybug · 23/11/2011 22:32

Sorry didn't mean to offend re age. I just meant that was when I wanted to do the marathon by not that you can't do one if you are older than 40. If I was 56 I would be saying by 60. I just wanted a deadline for doing it rather than put it off forever and a big birthday seemed a good deadline.

Will off to bed before putting foot in it again.
