UK offer defensive support to Saudi against The Houthis

Wasn't so long ago people on marches were chanting support for The 'charming' bunnies as they were turning ships around. Did the chanters realise how deadly The Houthis were to their own people. Did they care, it was a sweet little ditty to sing.

The prime minister says "defensive air-to-air refuelling" is to be provided following a request from Saudi Arabia, after it faced attacks from the Houthis in Yemen.

Yes, but they are not an official army of a country - just rebels armed by Iran, but the Saudi's seem impotent considering the hardware they have

Probably much of the software is under US control so can't be used without their approval/participation

Tbf look at the Taliban and soon as the west left they popped right back up. I’m frankly not impressed with the Saudis BUT they are mountain people who’ve fought for years. Not easy at all.

I do think this requires a coalition, everyones got skin in the game.

They are not an official army to a country. They are a terrorist organisation. Terrorist organisations kill lots of people, inlcuding many of their own, they use child soldiers and have committed humaitarian abuses.
Hezbollah and Hamas are also not 'official armies' they also did/do much damage, again to their own people and to others.

There are a lot of them and since they use any tactic to cause distruction it makes the Saudi's problem more difficult.
