Have the US hit anywhere apart from Iran? Which countries have they hit that I've not paid attention to?

Israel hitting Iran and Hezbollah/Lebanon. Any other in the region for this war? (Gaza Israel conflict a different conflict)

@BoredZelda

Where has the US hit that isn't Iran?

Israel and the US denied hitting the school in Iran, nothing new in denying strikes from all sides.

It seems likely that after this war and in particular following the aggressive actions of the IRGC to their neighbours, that Kuwait will be seeking closer diplomatic relations with the US and Israel in future.

Although some commentators are also saying that after this conflict the gulf states wont want to host US bases anymore. It's shown it doesn't make them any safer.

Who is to say what the situation after this conflict? - seems major global shifts are likely. I dont think US will want close relations with Israel. Aipac is a dirty word in the Democratic party. Israel pulling US into this war has caused divisions in Maga. This conflict, I hope, may be the last US war of aggression.

Twiglets1 · 03/04/2026 14:30

I don't think it works like that.

If Israel were wrong to do it in 2023, than Iran are wrong to do it in 2026.

It's a war crime to destroy vital civilian infrastructure no matter which country does it. And yes, that is also true of Israel, of course.

Obviously it was ethically and legally wrong in 2023 and today no matter who does it, but a law is only as good as the political will to enforce it. Israel has faced zero sanctions or repercussions for hitting illegal civilian targets for years.

This has emboldened other countries to ignore the laws of armed conflict, when something like this emerges it is called a climate of permissiveness.

Iran has denied responsibility and claimed Israel is behind the attack on the desalination plant. The aim being to build international support for the war against Iran and enable escalation.

The IRGC denying stuff. Did they claim the other strikes or deny them?

AmberTigerEyes · 03/04/2026 14:32

In other news of hitting illegal civilian targets today Israel hit a century old medical centre a Red Cross/Crescent warehouse and more schools.

The US and Israel expanded their attacks on Iran, hitting a century-old medical research centre in Tehran, steel plants and a bridge near the capital in some of the latest strikes on Iranian infrastructure. A drone strike also hit a Red Crescent aid warehouse in Iran’s Bushehr province.

Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said more than 600 schools and education centres have been hit. [ so far ]

a water desalination plant is not a legitimate military target.

Correct.
However that did not stop Israel from bombing all of them in Gaza in 2023
What’s allowed for one, becomes permissible for all.

Kuwaiti authorities blamed Iran for the strike before midday on Friday. The plant was not identified and the extent of the damage isn’t known.

Iran want chaos in the entire region. Suits them. Happy to bring down all countries with them. Would happily send the middle east into the dark ages. Fortunately, most middle east countries want peace and prosperity and better for their citizens, sadly Iran don't.

I am not as convinced because Iranian attacks are retaliatory in nature.
The initial aggression came from the US and Israel.
Or aggression may not be a factor and they will simply align with the winner for self preservation.

AmberTigerEyes · 03/04/2026 14:23

Twiglets1 · 03/04/2026 11:45

That will be how Iran attempt to justify it.

But Bahrain and Kuwait are not at war with Iran.

And a water desalination plant is not a legitimate military target.

There is no justification for Iran targeting a water desalination plant, especially in a country they are not even at war with. Is there?

Kuwait hasn’t recognised Israel under the Abraham Accords. They currently have no diplomatic relations.

BBC is reporting now that the IRGC are claiming Israel bombed the Kuwaiti desalination plants

IDF says it is 'not aware' of attack after Iran accuses it of hitting Kuwaiti infrastructurepublished at 15:02

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has accused Israel of targeting a water desalination facility and power plant in Kuwait, after Kuwait said Iran had targeted them.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) told the BBC that it's "not aware" of the attack.
In a statement, the IRGC condemned the attacks and warned Middle Eastern countries to remain “alert” to US and Israeli “efforts to foment unrest, destabilise, and destroy the region”.
In the statement, the IRGC did not mention the oil refinery in Kuwait, which has also reportedly been targeted today.
Earlier this week, Iran also accused Israel of targeting a desalination facility in Kuwait.
Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya, the country’s main military command, on Monday accused Israel of “brutal aggression” against the Kuwaiti plant and of attempting to “frame” Iran.
The comments followed an overnight attack on a power and desalination plant in Kuwait, which reportedly killed an Indian worker and caused damage.
Zolfaghari urged regional states to remain vigilant against what he described as Israeli and US “sedition” aimed at destabilising the Middle East.

Iran might vkaim that but Kuwait who were actually hit say it was Iran.

If you think any of the three nations involved in this war have only been striking countries involved in the war, you haven’t been paying attention.

Can you give an example of what you mean specifically

Twiglets1 · 03/04/2026 14:20

Do you believe what the IRGC say @AmberTigerEyes @Golden407 ?

They are a proscribed terrorist organisation in many, many countries and only not the UK because of some legal difficulty which the UK are working on, in order to be able to proscribe the IRGC.

Iran are the only people who would want to bomb Kuwait, as retaliation for them allowing missiles to be sent from US bases.

BoredZelda · 03/04/2026 14:16

You don’t understand why anyone would hit a desalination plant in the Middle East, as a strategic move? There are a number of reasons for that.

I get why the IRGC would as I posted. Who else would want it for Kuwait?

I agree.

Some might be just anti anyone who is friendly or on sympathic to Israel or the US? Who knows, therefore excuses for everything now.

It’s good the region now has the Abraham Accords. Iran is problematic for all of them.

I disagree. Kuwait doesn't have a very large terrorist group operating from their country and difficult to distinguish from regular citizens, even hiding out amongst regular citizens as in Lebanon.

The US don't go hide out in Kuwaiti family homes.

I really dont see the difference.

In fact of you compare the two - Kuwait agreed to host an aggressive imperialist world power with a history of launching wars of aggression.

Lebanon took in a few hundred thousand refugees fleeing their hones in 1948 and has never been able to see their return. Nearly 80 years on Palestinians in Lebanon dont have the right to work and arent citizens of Lebanon. They have been forced to cope with Hezbollah, no choice involved.

The IRGC are showing they are nothing but a murderous death cult. No different to Isis. The sooner they are wiped down the face of the earth the better everyone will be .
