Perhaps but these posts were up for hours and hours before I saw them, they were very nasty blantently anti muslim posts, no maybe are they crossing a line. Some posters agreed with them, your post which was 3 posts after one of the awful comments said 'Agree with above comments' but obviously didn't get as far as 3 posts above yours with your reading. It's a shame that you didn't having awful posts like that up for hours unchallenged really isn't nice.

I also remember a fantastic muslim poster that was so fair and knowledgeable whose thread about the murdered filmmaker was deleted because the anti Palestine posters came on to start the usual deflection and insults. Didn't see them much after that

There were some lovely balanced respectful Palestinian posters at the beginning but they were soon piled on and stopped posting. One particular poster had friends who had been killed working as medics in Gaza and had to put up with posters who were suggesting they were killed because they were Hamas it was dreadful. They no longer post.

Report racism where you see it and I will do the same where I see it. I have reported racist posts against Muslims myself in the past, though I don't know which posts you are referring to on this occasion. I was pretty busy just reading all the posts I was tagged in tbh.

I don't think you can should assume you were the only person who reported the posts though, there may have been others and that is why they got prioritised in the report queue for deletion.

@Twiglets1 I wonder if Muslim posters still post here? I read a thread on this board earlier with 2 very blantant anti Muslim posts on a short enough thread, they had been up for hours before I saw them, lots of people including yourself had posted after those posts so presumably read them but not a single person challenged these posters. Presumably they weren't reported either considering mumsnet took them down almost immediately after I reported them for spreading hate.

The vast majority of posters on those threads (the long running hostage ones) were on the pro Israel side @Boolabus and we kept on topic and peaceful. A few from "the other side" did pop up and be nasty on occasion, I think they were the only deletions.

As for you saying "what most of us stand for" the group you refer to is not a homogenous group, as you referred to yourself earlier. It seems to me that some are more extreme than others in their views and they most definitely are not respectful to anyone with a different opinion.

Apologies, for continuing with derail. I just find it hard to believe the penny hasn't dropped for some on what most of us stand for.

Still got criticised even though I thought this was a topic we could almost all agree on. Ah well.

@FloralDeerPattern the long running hostage thread was completely different. It was run with great respect and delicacy. We could have got all argumentative by starting to debate about how much we hated the people who captured the hostages or turned a blind eye to it or coming up with wild theories we saw on TikTok but I think 99% of the people who posted on that thread just wanted to keep it peaceful.

You can have a conversation about Israeli injustices - there's a whole thread on it which no pro Israel person goes near apart from by mistake.

Said not to further divert but to correct misinformation.

I agree the UK governments reactions is very weak. They have completely ignored the ICJs recommendations when it comes to action on Israel, it makes you wonder what the point of these world courts etc is when when it comes down to it if it is an ally behaving appallingly countries are willing to turn a blind eye.

I do it myself it’s hard not to when ‘some things’ are being thrown out

I won't reply to anymore posts on this thread. No point since any answering posts on a slightly different topic gets a standard 'back to the thread response' however, it appears some don't listen to their own message to do that.

For what it's worth. I don't agree with the death penalty and have said so before. Best to unwatch lots of these threads since posters don't want people to reply to some of the comments they themselves make 🙄

We, the Foreign Ministers of Australia, Germany, France, Italy, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, express our deep concern about a bill that would significantly expand the possibilities to impose the death penalty in Israel and that could be voted into law next week. We are particularly worried about the de facto discriminatory character of the bill. The adoption of this bill would risk undermining Israel’s commitments with regards to democratic principles.
The death penalty is an inhumane and degrading form of punishment without any deterring effect. This is why we oppose the death penalty, whatever the circumstances around the world. The rejection of the death penalty is a fundamental value that unites us.
We urge the Israeli decision makers in Knesset and Government to abandon these plans.’
