Does this mean people will no longer be arrested for holding up a sign saying “I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action”?

I saw a clip of a video yesterday with one of the women who broke into Elbit Systems, where they attacked the security guard and a police officer's spine was broken with a sledgehammer. She was tearfully describing it as a terrible day because they hadn't expected any security guards or police to turn up when they were smashing up millions of pounds worth of equipment.

Terrorist or not, they are fucking idiots.

I saw that clip too. Such a terrible day for the poor lamb, much worse than for the policewoman one of them attacked with a sledgehammer 🙄

I just saw a video by Amnesty of outside the court yesterday and seeing all of the elderly 'terrorists' celebrating was just so lovely. So many women who peacefully stood firm for what they believe in, a big well done to them.

Agree completely

noblegiraffe · 14/02/2026 09:57

People saying the definition for terrorism hadn't been met clearly haven't read what the judge said when they said that Palestine Action had committed acts of terrorism.

I hope those saying this is a good ruling put their hands in their pockets and pay for the criminal damage this group cause because I'm fucking pissed off that taxpayers are paying for their terrorism.

IloveOwlsandPenguins · 14/02/2026 09:51

Stirabout · 14/02/2026 02:11

Well said
and so pleased the definition of terrorism has not been eroded
Once Governments, such as ours, go out of their way to erode free speech and shut down demonstrations by shouting terrorist it’s a slippery slope

We really didn’t need to go this far to prove that the definition for terrorism had not been met. Anyone who could read could see that
The law has prevailed

Meanwhile
I see the derailings have already started. 🤣🤣 anything to try to overshadow some good news for once

Agree completely

GrethaGreen · 14/02/2026 09:50

This is a good ruling.

And yet the vote on the proscription was carried through Parliament overwhelmingly 385 votes for, 26 against.

Well - in 2015 our lovely politicians voted en masse that no one should be allowed to give any evidence they had of elite paedophile activity ( in confidence ) to the Parliamentary Enquiry into Elite Child Abuse Rings if they were bound by the official secrets act .

Would appear not always decent with the voting in our HoC sometimes .

I'm not going to reply to you anymore because you aren't actually reading my posts and its more effort than I'm willing to put in to communicate with you.

They were celebrating the finding that ban on Palestine Action was unlawful, that's why they were outside the court saying yay it's been overturned not yay smack em with a sledgehammer.

Yes I think we'v all read and understood your posts.

ReturnOfTheToad · 14/02/2026 09:43

SharonEllis · 14/02/2026 09:37

Well you tell us.

you said 'just saw a video by Amnesty of outside the court yesterday and seeing all of the elderly 'terrorists' celebrating was just so lovely. So many women who peacefully stood firm for what they believe in, a big well done to them.'

You know all of them individually I suppose and can tell us exactly what they were celebrating that was so 'lovely'

No, its only that way if Jewish. Oops sorry I mean Zionist / Israeli.

Surely not?

Seems that way.

ReturnOfTheToad · 14/02/2026 09:36

How do labour friends of Israel have a hand in something that a member of Labour friends of Israel did 🙄

dairydebris · 14/02/2026 09:38

ReturnOfTheToad · 14/02/2026 09:16

Who was celebrating that?

You are being deliberately obtuse, I don't have time for that.

Enough to say any group that choses destruction of property and bodily harm to service people in the UK to make a political point will never have my support. Others may make their own choices about that. But going down the route of violence and destruction as a means for political ends often does not end well for citizens of that nation.

Yes, that's the question. Please explain.

You think it's clear that Labour Friends of Iarael 'had a hand' in the legislation just because Yvette Cooper is a supporter of LFI? Seriously? Tell me how that works. Explain the mechanism. And tell me how the mechanism works for all the other organisations that Cooper supports, and countries we are allies with. Do they all influence her equally, is she capable of no independent thought? Do you know how legislation is drafted? (Clue - it's not just one person) and what about all the Labour Friends of Palestine that voted for it?

You asked how labour friends of Israel 'controlled' PA being proscribed. I pointed out that it was a Labour friend of Israel who first introduced the legislation into parliament without actually reading the guidelines first. So I think that it's pretty clear that Labour friends of Israel had a hand in this although I wouldn't use the term 'controlled' that sounds rather dramatic and tin foil hatish. But that is the relevance of me posting about labour friends of Israel that you keep haranguing me for. You brought it up first and I answered your question, there is no great conspiracy here.

So they were conveniently ignoring the actions that PA carried out that even in this judgement met the threshold to be considered terrorism . And that any normal humane person would not support.

Ignoring that inconvenience, rather like you're ignoring my question 'So what's the relevance of her (Cooper) being a member of Labour Friends of Israel?'

Whether or not they are a terrorist group, they are certainly a vandalist and violent group. Which was very prominently reported at the time.

Do you think damaging UK military equipment and attacking UK service people with sledgehammers and whips is something to celebrate?

Who was celebrating that?

They believed that PA were not a terrorist group, as has been decided by the judges. They believed that the government were over stepping and not following their own guidance when the proscribed PA as has been found by the judges.

You said it was 'lovely' to see supporters of PA celebrating and that they had stood firm for what they 'believe in'. what is it they believe in? Among the things PA did was attack a police officer with a sledgehammer.

JacknDiane · 13/02/2026 22:08

Of course they were never terrorists.
Utterly ridiculous to say they were.

Even the judge in this case said that a small number of Palestine Action's activities met the legal test for acts of terrorism.

So Palestine Action have committed acts of terrorism, just not enough terrorism to meet the threshold to be proscribed.

SharonEllis · 14/02/2026 08:59

ReturnOfTheToad · 14/02/2026 08:51

What do you mean so lovely to believe in attacking a police officer? Who said that that was lovely? That's the second time on this thread you have weirdly accused me of saying things that I haven't. Are you alright?
