When will it be time for the BBC news to take down the 'war on gaza' tab?

The peace fire seems on the whole to be holding and therefore there is limited news from this region so why don't the BBC pull any articles on the middle east into the main site of at least into a middle East section?

There are many conflicts around the world that (Sudan, Somalia etc) that deserve attention yet still the BBC have a whole section up for war ended by a ceasefire? It has been shown there was bias within the BBC which is currently suffering a lot of aspirational damage so surely it could help itself by having equal coverage of conflicts around the world apart from focussing one that involves Israelis and Jews? Anti semitism has been well documented in this country and I think one way to reduce e it is to look at areas where there is an over focus on one particular conflict showing an anti Israel agenda.

The Guardian have stopped their exclusive sub heading so why can't the BBC follow?

Israel have literally just admitted to killing two surrendered Palestinian men and you ask that question?

I think the above article shows the amount of bias and group think in organisations like Amnesty. There is a ceasefire and the number of people dying has vastly reduced and continues to do so. Instead of celebrating an ongoing end of hostilities and a cease fire agreement people still try and stoke up division by bringing up the fallacious concept of genocide despite a truce!

What do Israel have to do for pro Palestinian organisations to admit there is peace or does the lack of violence not serve their narrative?

We have plenty of tunnels under London 🤷🏽‍♀️ It’s not tunnels that are Israel’s problem.

Maybe the title of this section should be renamed towards peace in the middle East eventually? I think such a description may reflect where we may be in terms of condlixt. Yes, there will be issued to discuss and both the Israelis and Palestinians may have concerns but in terms of direct violent conflict i.e. war the title becomes a little misleading. The concern about continued referral to war in the middle East (i.e.Gaza) is that it gives the impression there are confused Israeli strikes on Gaza routinely allowing those that wish to push the genocide narrative a little more leeway.

Because people keep starting threads and MN thought it was better to put them into their own board. This is a discussion forum so it is driven by what people want to discuss, slightly different to editorial issues for the bbc.

But certain posters here just want us to forget about Israel’s war crimes against the Palestinians so we can all repeat this cycle in 20 years time.

No we want Hamas to be destroyed and their tunnels also so this cannot happen again in 20 years time or ever.

It’s very biased. Israel get to be named as a country, Palestine doesn’t.

Isreal is at war with all of the Palestinian Territories and to claim it’s only Gaza that is under attack gives the impression that Isreal is doing nothing wrong anywhere else, which we all know is not true.

Very little news? Israel bombed Lebanon the other day. It has taken land off Lebanon and Syria in recent days. I wouldn’t say that is very little news.

The world is a violent place but we expect our national broadcaster to be impartial and prioritise immediate events as far as possible. After the cease fire there is relatively little news on a daily basis from Gaza so having a sub section of the main news site just tempts journalists to fill the space....the question is is this necessary and if so why?

Are there those in the BBC who want the sub section up there to placate pro pals who wish there to be a digital reminder of this war so to whip up support for the Palestinian 'cause'?

Yes, that's the point. It has its own tab on the bbc (screenshot below). On a par with Russia/Ukraine which is a vastly more consequential war at the moment.

There is no ceasefire, it is on the continent of Europe, Russia threatens all of Europe, it impacts European energy supplies and therefore the world economy, and the way Trump is managing the negotiations threatens to upend the entire world order since the close of the second world war. And we have spent vastly more in economic support to Ukraine.

The Un has been deliberately undermined.
the ICJ has been undermined and it’s judges sanctioned .

And this is partly why the layout of news websites is important. It reflects a hierarchy that says this particular conflict is more important than others.
