I have not misunderstood anything. Logic can be applied in certain situations when you can eliminate all other possibilities. You are trying to surmise that Hamas won't let in international journalists is based on nothing more than your opinion. My logic tells me that Israel won't let international journalists in because they have something to hide from the rest of the world. How do we know it is not about protection. Simple. Jeremy Bowen not being allowed to photograph out of a plane window is nothing to do with protection unless they were worried he would fall out. Also, I know, Israel knows, the international courts also know, that it is not Israel's job to protect journalists. They're just not supposed to kill them.

So being seen with a Hamas leader in what context we don't know as they may have been doing their job by interviewing them or a journalist actually having a sickening admiration for Hitler on his social media justifies murdering 270 does it. It is only Israel who claimed that Mahmoud Bassal was an active Hamas operative so I don't know if any due diligence would have revealed anything. Bit like the calendar on the wall which Israel claimed was a list of guards. Could just as likely be an excuse in order to justify silencing him. Even if all five were active Hamas, does not mean it is open season on all journalists.

Personally I favour the latter, because it's incredibly obvious that both sides don't want journalism due to having things to hide. But you can have the former as long as you apply it across the board.

Nope. Killing journalists, even in a war zone, under the Geneva Convention, is a war crime and hence murder. Killing aid workers and trying to bury them and their vehicles, murder. Killing WCK while trying to deliver food, murder. Hind Rajab, murder. Killing the ambulance drivers who went to help her, murder. Saying the IDF is the most moral army is like saying Ian Brady and Myra Hindley were the most moral serial killers.

Even if that were true - it isn’t - it would be a damn sight less racist and horrible than the frenzied, relentless perma-attacks on a country that is the sole Jewish homeland. To the exclusion of attacks on nations and peoples caught up in every other conflict in the world.

The dehumanisation of the Palestinians in these threads astounds me.
People live in the circumstances they are given and do the best they can. Hamas were the local government, it would be surprising if many ordinary people weren’t aligned with them in some way.
That doesn’t mean they deserve to die or have their testimonies discredited, any more than the testimonies of people connected with the Israeli government.

Wow? You're comparing Palestinians with the all those groups. There were universities in Gaza. Under a sea, air and land blockade, they tried to have some form of life but now you are trying to compare them to the Taliban? You question the integrity of Palestinian journalists and hence support their murder as justified. Just wow.

The most problem with that comparison is how many of that combined figure of journalists in other wars you quoted were locals who may or may not have been working for the propaganda arm of a terrorist government.

Would journalists reporting under the Taliban, Al Shabab, ISIS, the Houthis or Hezbollah be considered as legitimate sources?

Any local journalists in Gaza would have been affiliated with Hamas. How did they have so many in such a small area anyway?
