And I hope they are all killed. Poor Palestinian people forced to live under their disgusting rule. Resistance is met with execution. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c99g3p52k15o

Footage shows public executions in Gaza City street

Hamas-linked social media channels say "three collaborators who were spying for the occupation" were executed.

You are right. The West cannot win with the anti Western hatred seen in society. The Arab nations get a free pass and need to do more.

The West should just step back for those reasons. If Hamas are horrific then someone else will have to deal with them.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/10/2025 10:23

Anything the US, UK or EU do will be criticised as colonisers taking over and give the marchers more reasons to scream support for globalisation of the intifada

Very true, @Ihatetomatoes, but then if they don't act they'll be slammed for that too by those who have convinced themselves that absolutely everything is the west's fault

Good luck expecting some sort of arab coalition to sort things out though; the overall attitude seems to be that as long as it doesn't affect them directly they're not too bothered, and that inter-arab relations matter more than Palestine itself, so I'm not seeing an answer there

I don’t want British troops in Gaza either - it’s a poisoned chalice to get too involved because all we would ever get would be criticism.

I agree, kemeavecut to Arab nations. Anything the US, UK or EU do will be criticised as colonisers taking over and give the marchers more reasons to scream support for globalisation of the intifada. Leave it to Muslim Arabs, very unlikely to be criticised then. Will the Muslim Arab countries bother though? 🤔

https://x.com/NoaMagid/status/1978500601584435482 Hamas know exactly where the murdered hostages are. And what these poor hostages have been through? Words fail me.

I didn’t understand why Israel agreed to release prisoners, before ALL the hostages, living and dead were released.

I understand even less now,

The withdrawal of troops and ceasefire was enough to start with.

Plugsocketrocket · 15/10/2025 19:13

They will end up in a quagmire, and end up using exactly the same tactics as the IDF.

Hamas have set it up to make civilians targets because that is always going to make any aggressor look appalling but they are only interested in having one aggressor.

They have an often voiced long standing specific ideological agenda against Israel.

They baited Israel into taking actions but Israel still had other choices that did not involve genocide.

EasternStandard · 15/10/2025 19:12

I can’t see it working unless Hamas comply. Maybe they will. No one will want their troops facing a fighting Hamas on the ground.

I’m not sure ‘the Arabs’ (for want of a better phrase) want to send in their troops either.
Hamas are not going to give up, will not give up their murderous activities.
Whoever goes in, it’s a thankless undertaking.

No, they are not primitive thugs. They are a sophisticated Islamist militant group, one of the wings of the Muslim Brotherhood; they are funded by foreign entities, and their actions, including those we see now, are planned and choreographed to give maximum effect in pursuing their agenda.

Absolutely this. Fundamentalist religions across the world breed a level of fanaticism that cannot be conceived of outside of fundamentalism. Look at US death cults which operate in a similar psychological playing field.

People are convinced to put themselves and their children in extreme harms way all for some disordered future promise that goes well beyond from the river to the sea. Hamas’s goal was to make Israel the social pariahs of the world.

The level of deranged and delusional thinking attached to Hamas is not primitive it is skilled psychological manipulation.

The fact that Israel has played right into the hands of Hamas by making themselves tools of Hamas’s agenda by committing genocide while the eyes of the world watched on is something I cannot reconcile.

I'll rephrase. The majority of Gazan's support what Hamas stands for.

Where is your data to confirm this?

VivienneDelacroix · 15/10/2025 18:39

Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/10/2025 10:33

I expect most of us can agree on that Palestinians desrve to be free from Hamas, but as PPs have said it'll be difficult to achieve when so many still support them

This is the point you'll never see answered from the unbalanced everything's-Israel's-fault contingent - probably because it's not answerable except by accepting that too many have brought this upon themselves

https://www.pcpsr.org/en/node/997

Let's break it down. This poll carried out in extreme circumstances at a time of war, says that 50% of Gazan's surveyed (so representing 50% of adult Gazans) support Anti-Hamas demonstrations. So actually 75% of Gazans are either children or support opposition to Hamas. That's a large number.

Also this poll surveyed Gazans - not Palestinians in general. You can't extrapolate it out to mean "Palestinians".

Lies, damn lies, and statistics, hey?

@Alantraitor ’Once the ISF is mobilised (international stabilization force composed of U.S., Arab, and European personnel)’

I really hope the west isn’t stupid enough to put American or British troops into Gaza.
The Arab League need to take of this.

I don’t want British troops in Gaza either - it’s a poisoned chalice to get too involved because all we would ever get would be criticism.

VivienneDelacroix · 15/10/2025 18:22

Not even the majority of them. 50% of the population of Gaza are children for starters. They don't deserve to live under a terrorist organisation who publically executes those who stand against them.

The life expectancy in Gaza is 40. The last (so called) election was in 2006, so how many living people actually voted? Of them how many voted for Hamas and out of them, how many did so out of fear?

Rafah had three seats in the 2006 elections - not one of them went to Hamas, so even in Gaza it is clear that support for Hamas isn't a given (despite their reign of terror).

I'll rephrase. The majority of Gazan's support what Hamas stands for.

VivienneDelacroix · 15/10/2025 18:27

Alantraitor · 15/10/2025 09:43

Why should women be any different?

Children though are presumed innocent until they are old enough to decide for themselves whether to support Hamas or not.

So that's at least 50% of the population you agree so not support Hamas.

RainbowBagels · 15/10/2025 09:06

I dont think they are gullible idiots in Palestine. The ones cheering are supportive of Hamas and their goals. The surrounding Arab states know this. They have enough trouble with Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood and Hezbollah as it is, snd have had in the past when they have tried to help Palestinians.
The gullible idiots are the Western pro Palestine supportes mourning the deaths of people killed after the ceasefire, either not knowing that they were killed by Hamas/ other Palestinians or claiming it is Mossad pretending to be Hamas or whatever pretzels they are tying themselves up in.

Edited

I mourn the deaths of Palestinians killed by Hamas. Of course I do.

EasternStandard · 15/10/2025 06:44

How will that happen?

If I knew that I'd be an acclaimed politician on the world stage.

I'm saying what Palestinians deserve. I have friends whose families are long-term Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, they dearly want to go home, but there's nowhere to go.

That ain't never going to happen in an Islamic country, with or without Hamas. Israel is the only functionally democractic country in the Middle East.

Correct.

ginasevern · 15/10/2025 11:21

soupyspoon · 15/10/2025 10:40

Yes and the other question which is difficult to answer is, that if Gazan's overall didnt or dont support Hamas and want them out, what do they want them replaced with? A tolerant, democratic replacement who want to work with Israel, recognise Israel's right to exist and believe in a 2 state solution. A group who would respect other views, beliefs, religions, promote womens rights and those with disabilities and different sexualities.

The latest headline from 15 hours ago said he wanted them disarmed.

Did you read the headline or did you watch the video which was behind headline? Because in the video he said he was okay with what they were doing with the gangs. He also said that Hamas will disarm because he had to chat with him and they said ' yes sir' when he asked the question. But if they didn't then they would be disarmed.

SugarPlumpFairyCakes · 15/10/2025 11:01

Alittlefeedbackwouldbenice · 15/10/2025 10:49

Ah, so I'm right, so let's deflect. That's crystal clear 😂

Do you accept that he told them they could have their weapons at the moment and that he's happy with what they're doing with the gangs?

Because it seems you don't want to answer a simple question.

The latest headline from 15 hours ago said he wanted them disarmed.

The vast majority yes, why would you think differently and why would women be different? Women across the world support terrorist regimes and governments and extremism if thats the culture and political system they believe in

Children are brought up to believe it in and then turn into adults.

Plenty of women on MN seem quite generally supportive of Hamas's general ideology of "freedom from Israel" (with varying degrees of awareness of what that implies), and march in UK cities to call for this to be exercised "from the river to the sea." Mild-looking British pensioners are happy to be arrested in support of the proscribed terrorist group, Palestine Action.

It would be nice to think any such group could be elected in Palestine, soupyspoon, but look at the polls again and you'll see it's clear that the fundamental urge to destroy Israel is too embedded for it to happen

As we learned with Afghanistan there can only be lasting regime change if it's what a groundswell of the population want, and when it isn't there the hell continues
