Why would would you still have pro Palestinian marches apart from now instilling more fear into the Jewish community

Now we have what looks like a peace to be celebrated why are people still going to march for Palestine? The genocide has stopped in their opinion so shouldn't they be at least joyful or if that is not the case what do they really want? Do they want to keep marching until the Israeli state is no more?

That didn’t pan out though did it, and we’re all very glad about that aren’t we, because at least 2400 Gazans would have died from starvation in the two months since the ‘famine’ was declared, at the rate of 40 a day within a population of 2 million.

I wonder if the IPC will be updating its conclusion that a famine was taking place or tumbleweed…..

I just worry this will become some sort of permanent feature of British cultural landscape unless people call it out. There is no excuse about calling for an end to a war now a peace has been agreed. The nature of the marches will become worse as the focus will be more about 'anti zionism' i.e. a call for the eradication of Israel.

I feel there is certainly a sense of defeat by all those that supported the Palestinian cause and that bitterness could lay the foundations of a nasty virulent form of anti semtism which some will allow because of 'but Gaza'.

How do you think apartheid in SA came to an end? Israel has done irreparable damage to itself during this horrendous genocide, the legal definition needs to be looked at again because they’ve commuted unthinkable crimes.

They were able to because they’re an occupying force and apartheid regime. They exposed all this in the last two years so people are no longer demanding a ceasefire they want an end to the occupation because otherwise what happened to Gaza can happen again.

‘Famine’ is probably a technical term with its own requirements, and as I said, I have no doubt there is food insecurity and people are probably not eating as well as they would like. But this not a famine hit country in the same way Ethiopia can be a famine hit country. It just isn’t.

They have stated that they were overfed in the months leading up to their release so that they would gain weight and not look emaciated which wouldn't be a good look for hamas. As we know, refeeding after starvation should be done cautiously, so this has created another set of issues for them, such as severe stomach pain

With more aid going into Gaza recently, with clothes on, with people who have lost a lot of weight still not looking like a famine victim, can we say for sure that those people weren’t starved at any point?

It's not your own eyes though is it? You're not there, you are viewing images on a TV screen and tbh with the advent of AI you can believe less and less of what you see through video images. It is far more reliable to interpret the data and the medical experts

Avinatan Or, it has been reported has lost 30-40% of his body weight. Again, in his release photos he looks thin, but not shockingly emaciated.

So I'm not sure I know what someone who has been starved should look like. Particularly with clothes on. Those men definitely were starved but don't look like famine victims to me either.

We have similar going on in the GC movement with trans people being offended and scared by every word, but words that upset others are not always Hate speech and harassment. And
Being offended is unavoidable if people disagree

No one has the right to ask others not to demonstrate on something they believe in because it offends them or because it scares them.

This is about having your very existence threatened, orchestrated by people who know exactly what they are doing.

It is possible/likely that many of the "peace marchers" are blithely unaware of this, but they need to wake up and get a grip.

So ironic that so many of them think they are somehow "fighting fascism" when they are actively lending support to the greatest fascist threat now facing not just Jews, but Europe more generally.

Because what does that say about them, themselves?

Agreed. I find it so sad. Jewish people display impeccable British values, respect others, bring so much to our society and get treated like this after how they have already been treated. I think people forget how short a time period 1945 is until now - and just how many were murdered. I just despair at how suicidal the Brits can be in their support of enemy regimes who would actively wish them harm.

I honestly think the web of lies will slowly unfurl over the next 5 or so years and people will be shocked and ashamed at how easily Hamas lead them on.

That was a reply to @SharonEllis saying: “You could choose not to join marches that intimidate a minority.”

So it pretty much sounds like you’re drawing a parallel between the minority Sharon is talking about and trans people who get easily offended.
