Hamas targeting groups and clans in Gaza

It depends on who is doing the reporting - some reports are saying that Israeli armed guerilla groups are in Gaza fighting Hamas, and others say it is fake news. It is almost impossible to know what is going on. Where is the BBC getting its reports from, if they aren't there?

Hamas isn't the problem. The problem is that there isn't international commitment to a negotiated two state solution. That is what the US should be pushing for, because without it there will never be peace.

But TBF, if it stabilises the middle east and Africa ....I do note how they treat religion on home turf as they're aware of it's potential to weaponise. Even the Buddhists of Tibet who tend to immolate to protest, have had the ability to choose their faith leader delegated to Beijing.

Middle eastern leaders seem keen in an anything but 'the west' way. If only there weren't so many people in 'the west' who felt the same way.

You aren't stating history correctly. There has not been a two state deal on the table in any genuine sense. The power groups behind Israel think that they were given the whole of Palestine in 1917 and will not accept anything less (and some have said that they want to spread out in the ME). Palestinians had the Balfour Agreement 1917 forced on them and fought against that (this is not contested history).

In recent decades, the only deals on the table have been where Israel maintains full security ie blockades, soldiers and this has been rejected by Palestinians (but has still happened).

In recent months there has been a recognition that a 2 state deal will stop the fighting, and ME supports that, Israel does not yet. The US are against the 2 state solution currently which is pretty tragic but hopefully they will realise at some point that the 2 state solution is the fairest solution and needed for peace.

This is sadly true, as we see with the almost complete lack of interest in other conflicts

As for China's involvement, while it is indeed a noble civilisation it's unfortunately in the hands of a filthy regime whose only concern will be for themselves and what they can get out of the situation - and good luck expecting "post-colonial" breast beating from their leaders if it's deecided that their involvement wasn't such a good idea after all

Very well put, Bigpinksweather, and even now a large % of Palestinians have been shown to back Hamas - a figure which will likely increase as they take credit for their released prisoners

Good luck to those who thought they'd ever see a rebuilt Palestine without Hamas involvement, because I'd say the chances of that are vanishingly unlikely

As it’s not Israel doing the killing we don’t need to worry about it as very few people will be interested.

They are their own worst enemies. They could have had a 2 state solution from the start. They are enabled by people in the west to continue the hatred and not seek a more peaceful outcome. They need to be treated like grown ups accountability for their choices. Keeping them as perpetual victims doesn't help them.

Are they moderates? Any opposition to Hamas are called Israeli collaborators so when they slaughter them or execute in the streets westerners won't complain.

Apparently China have got a posse of Palestinian leaders together and is forging links in the area. The Chinese are the oldest surviving civilisation for a reason...

The ‘poor Palestinians’ have allowed their land to become a terror cell and showed high support for Oct 7 until they started losing. Dictators and authoritarian regimes don’t just fall out of the sky, they brew in areas that allow them to do so. If Palestinians want moderate governance they’ll have to take their eyes off the Israelis for a while and fight for it. They’re always the ‘poor victims’ of their own violence and extremism, and nothing is ever ever their fault. If they want to be a peaceful country, only they can make it happen. I want us to have nothing more to do with it.

And so the cycle of hatred continues ...

I’m bereft for the children but the adults not so much. They supported Oct 7 until they started losing, they have no care for lives that aren’t one of their own and they’ve caused an awful lot of trouble around the world. I want them to just quietly go about sorting their internal leadership issues and rebuilding now but they won’t. There will be more rabble rousing, demands, skirmishes with Israel and no doubt they’ll find another reason for more marches.

Its really sad for Palestinian people. Their own 'government' killing them now. They need an alliance of Arab peace keepers from Muslim countries. Non Muslim countries will just be accused of interference. The surrounding Arab nations need to step up and help Palestinian people built a better, brighter future.

As with Afghanistan the fighters will always have been there, waiting for their next chance, but did anyone really expect anything different?

A death cult of terrorists needs someone to kill, and if Israelis aren't available then their own people will do - and yet with Hamas still intact and effectively running the show some see fit to recognise this as a state?

Of course they won't. Hamas are resistance and its not their fault they kill Israelis or their own people now, nothings their fault ever.

Its how they move around and pop up.in different locations. Wack a hamas as they pop up. They kept some hostages in the tunnels too.

Well they were emboldened by people not calling for them to go. Ceasefire has happened and Hamas are killing Palestinian people who stand up to.them. Marches didn't really achieve anything. There is a peace between Israel and Gaza at the moment and Hamas are reorganising themselves and ensuring Palestinian people stay submissive to them. I feel and fear for Palestinians who don't support Hamas.

Gosh, here was me thinking Hamas always steered well clear of medical facilities.
