Feel like once the hostages are handed over Israel will start bombing again

This was DR Hussam's last sighting in Gaza as he was ordered to walk towards the Israeli tanks after a long siege and attack on one of the last functioning hospitals in the north of Gaza.

Come on, they were on the agreed list. The details are not relevant to the context of the peace process . If they didn’t agree to them being out on the agreed list then they should have said so then. Why didn’t they? How will giving Hamas an excuse to stall help the release of hostages?

Yes I think the images of the emaciated children, were all because they had existing illnesses.
I'm not underplaying how awful it was to have a chronic illness in a war zone, but it's now completely obvious from a great deal of footage that there was no mass starvation.

Why am I not surprised Israel are point blank refusing to include several Palestinian prisoners who were on the agreed list for release?

We will all see the condition of the hostages soon.

Whether they have been starving or not will be obvious from their physical condition.

Facts matter. And if we say their physical condition looks decent that is not to say they haven’t suffered (of course they have, as have the people of Gaza).

If we are told about widespread famine by sources we once trusted like the UN or BBC, people will comment on the misinformation.

Hamas have clearly stated that the reason they don’t shelter people is because they are not responsible for them. Also it’s fine if people die because the wombs of their women will just produce more Palestinians. It’s foul. They don’t have to live in those tunnels, but Hamas know when operations are taking place they can shelter some people but they just don’t care to. Thats who Hamas are.

I was just saying on another thread, my X "For you" feed has been post after post of very well-groomed, well-looking young Gazans calling themselves Holocaust survivors and talking gleefully about ridding the whole region of Zionists. It's bizarre - not remotely the actions of anyone who has been genuinely starved and terrorised. Maybe it's just a bunch of grifters, I don't know, half of them are begging for money.

So far we've only seen images of deliberately starved hostages and those images of emaciated Palestinians who have subsequently turned out to be suffering from wasting illnesses. (I suppose there were also those images of a photojournalist staging photographs of children holding out empty bowls.) I have no doubt that people have suffered and gone without but there have been no images like those we have seen from Bosnia or Sudan or Yemen. All those Al-Jazeera journalists and citizen 'journalists' and people with smartphones and they can't find starving people?

One of the most disturbing things about this war is how Hamas - a group which has killed, imprisoned and intimidated journalists - has controlled the narrative and how almost all the media has unquestioningly played along.

Of course he will. They don’t care about the hostages, they care about continuing their vicious genocide. How anyone can be in support of Israel when they have committed literal war crimes and crimes against humanity is beyond me.

I think the only ones terrorising anyone are the Israelis. How many countries have they taken a pop at in the last couple of years? Though obviously the slaughter in Palestine is much more horrific. Israel have made themselves a pariah. The rest of us simply don’t buy into the idea that slaughtering thousands of children and starving whole populations is justifiable. The IDF when they come back from their jollies in Gaza will be living among you. I can’t imagine how they will fit back into everyday life. There is much work to be done on all sides.

Perhaps I should presume that people who are not chilled by those clips actually agree with them.

And war is war …. Just stop.
