Feel like once the hostages are handed over Israel will start bombing again

It seems too good to be true, a final end to the war.

After all the plans that were announced with regards to annexation and the Israeli far-right government members, I can’t help but feel that once all of the hostages are released Israel will go ham on Gaza.

There will be nothing to stop them bombing everywhere.

No hostages to avoid bombing.

No families pleading with the Israeli ministers.

Israel has broken so many ceasefires and this was with the hostages lives at stake.

I don’t know, but I can’t celebrate with everyone as I don’t believe it will last and my heart says that’s it’s going to get worse.

Not if Hamas shot first though.

Anyway the fragile ceasefire is back in place for now.

There’s no evidence they did
Wheres the IDF were first in breaking the ceasefire by shooting at Palestinians near the imaginary line.

Hamas shooting Palestinians is disgusting and wrong but it doesn't break the ceasefire.

The IDF shooting Palestinians is disgusting and wrong AND it breaks the ceasefire AND your comment was in relation to Israel 'resuming' the ceasefire.

"Hamas decided long ago that this was a fight to the death. First it destroyed the Israeli left with endless suicide bombings. Then it destroyed the Palestinian moderates (yes, there were moderates, dear Israelis, and they desperately wanted two states and blame Hamas and its various ideological fellow travelers for that long-ago failure; I've known some of these Palestinians for almost three decades; in fact, there were always moderates, in every Palestinian generation, and they were always sidelined or murdered by the Hamas of their day in pursuit of another round of war). Then Hamas transformed Gaza into the most fortified urban-warfare battlefield in history with the unprecedented tunnel system. Then it carried out the bloodiest attack on Israeli towns in fifty years and took 251 Israeli hostages to ensure the ensuing war was the bloodiest in Israeli-Palestinian history by an order of magnitude. Then, desperate at the last because it was losing its last surviving sanctuary beneath Gaza City - and because of pressure from its chief patron Qatar rattled by an Israeli strike on its territory - it agreed to return the hostages. And literally in the first hours of the ceasefire, it immediately began a massacre of Palestinians who oppose it, who criticize it, or even who simply expressed gratitude online for food aid from people it deems enemies. It has now regained control of most of Gazan society through blood and terror - and is now using every minute of the ceasefire to prepare for renewed war. The fight with Hamas is a fight to the death, and Hamas always, always, for literally three decades, makes sure of it. The only question is how many Israelis and Palestinians it manages to drag to their deaths along the way."

So are Hamas. What’s your point?

I'd say they already have plenty of those.

The article cites "a claim". It doesn't back up your assertion at all. You, like so many on here, are giving full credibility to news/propaganda filtered & packaged through Israel. We actually have no idea what Hamas is doing or isn't doing. There's not enough independent journalists in Gaza to tell us. I'd say it was naive but it's not, is it - it's just partisan.

So Hamas needs an apologist now?
Really?

camomilelawns · 20/10/2025 04:06

Only because Hamas hasn't kept their side of the bargain.

They (Hamas) are 'stalling for time' so they can use those terrorists that Israel has released to them to regroup.

But surely the Palestinians who have been released from captivity are free to group any way they like? If the Russians released Ukrainian prisoners they could rejoin their country in whatever capacity they wanted to.

No not really, if "anyway they like" involves organising further terror attacks.

Tbh you should probably read the actual ceasefire terms.

Or possibly It depends on Hamas IDF giving up arms and fucking off, not regrouping and plotting further attacks on Israel.Palestine

The ceasefire agreement explicitly requires Hamas to give up its arms and control of the strip. Do you think this is unreasonable?

SharonEllis · 20/10/2025 08:46

TomeTome · 20/10/2025 07:49

I think human beings do not need Israel’s permission to interact. It’s almost like you think Gaza is just a bigger jail and Israel are still their jailers? When you free someone they are then free and may do what any of the rest of us can do surely?

Not if their intention is to conspire to kill you, no. And not if there is a ceasefire agreement that specifically requires them to disarm.

Just to be clear. Are you saying released prisoners should be allowed to join Hamas and conspire to attack Israel and Israelis?

I don’t think it’s up to Israelis to “allow” or not free citizens of the state of Palestine to group how they please.

It depends on whether you care about the ceasefire or not. It depends on Hamas giving up arms and fucking off, not regrouping and plotting further attacks on Israel.

Do you want the ceasefire to hold?

Are you actually thinking Palestinian terrorists whose stated aim is to destroy Israel and have an extraordinarily poor human rights record are the same as people in Ukraine. If so, can you please explain.

No of course Palestinian terrorists aren't going to be allowed to regroup. You really think they should be allowed to?

Yet again the Rusdia/Ukraine analogy is ridiculous. Ukrainians are not terrorists. They are soldiers fighting legitimately in a defensive role taken prisoner by an illegal invading force. They have no history of terrorism or stated aim of drstroying Russia.

It didn’t take long for Israel to start again did it? It’s been killing Palestinians for day. But now it’s bombing them and has put a stop to the aid trucks. Isn’t this what everyone knew was going to happen.
