Feel like once the hostages are handed over Israel will start bombing again

It seems too good to be true, a final end to the war.

After all the plans that were announced with regards to annexation and the Israeli far-right government members, I can’t help but feel that once all of the hostages are released Israel will go ham on Gaza.

There will be nothing to stop them bombing everywhere.

No hostages to avoid bombing.

No families pleading with the Israeli ministers.

Israel has broken so many ceasefires and this was with the hostages lives at stake.

I don’t know, but I can’t celebrate with everyone as I don’t believe it will last and my heart says that’s it’s going to get worse.

I don't understand why anyone would deny that Israel has caused famine. Smotrich has said that causing Palestinians to die of starvation is morally quite ok. Now, if the government of Israel knows it has caused mass starvation why would anyone pro Israel deny it. The Israeli state have no issue with knowing what they have done, why do their supporters have difficulty accepting these facts?

Has Isreal committed genocide, tried to destroy in whole or in part another nation of people? it can't be denied because intention is everything, and IsraelI ministers have made more than enough statements of intention to prove this. Again they have no such difficulty admitting their intentions, they believe they are justified so why do supporters deny the reality?

At the beginning Israel said they would cut off electricity, food and water, and they did.
Isreal said they would make Gaza uninhabitable, they have. They have created millions of tons of rubble and it is estimated that just clearing the rubble could take years. Over 92% of housing destroyed.

There is only one important question, if Isreal has caused starvation and Israel believes this is morally fine because hamas has the hostages, then are Israels supporters in agreement that causing starvation isn't morally wrong?

If I said I'd murdered my neighbour would you deny I'd murdered my neighbour?

The morally reprehensible is indefensible so it would seem easier to deny all knowledge, and lie to oneself.

They are selling food in the markets that is supposed to be aid. Do you remember when civilians broke into that UNWRA warehouse literally full of flour?

https://edition.cnn.com/2025/05/28/middleeast/gaza-starving-wfp-warehouse-famine-intl-latam

The food was right there! You can see people carrying it out. It was just sitting in the warehouse? How many of these do you think were in Gaza with food trickling out to keep prices high? To coerce people? Hamas regularly shoot anyone going near these.

I’m making a broad point about what happens during a war. The biggest assholes have all the stuff. If a bloke is exchanging flour for sex it’s because he has plenty of flour, if he was on the verge of starvation he would have eaten it. The woman doesn’t have the flour because she’s not the asshole in this situation. This storry is probably repeated the world over, it’s not unique to Gaza. I’m pretty fucking sure it would happen in the UK too under the same circumstances.

Yes, some aid has been stored or sold- but that doesn’t undo the fact that Israel’s blockade deliberately cut off food, medicine, and essentials to millions. Starvation isn’t about a single warehouse- it’s about an entire population being deprived. UN agencies, WHO, and independent journalists confirm that children and babies have died because they couldn’t get formula, food, or medical care. That’s not “wartime reality”- it’s collective punishment which is illegal under international law.

Hundreds of starving Palestinians storm Gaza food warehouse in deadly incident, says UN agency | CNN

A hungry crowd of Palestinians broke into a United Nations warehouse in central Gaza on Wednesday, resulting in at least two deaths and multiple injuries as famine conditions worsen in the Strip.

Zainab died of severe malnutrition, weighing less than she did at birth. She was allergic to cow’s milk but could not access the special formula she needed due to the blockade and medical shortages. Her mother, also malnourished, survived.

I’ve seen some if these, parents and siblings look fine and theres some poor emaciated child. Yeah I agree many of them would have pre-existing conditions. They may be suffering not from a lack of food but medical aid, think feeding tubes, medicine etc not surprising because of the high rates of cousin marriage. It’s still fucking awful, the fact that it is probably a medical condition doesn’t make it any less awful and should motivate everyone to be fully in support of a ceasefire. But lying about it is just stupid when the rest of the child family look healthy.

Lots of healthy babies and children have starved to death.

The children with medical needs starved first because they were the most vulnerable. Babies with cow’s milk allergy starved because they couldn’t access alternative formula. All of this was caused by Israel’s blockade on food, including baby formula. Had medical aid and formula been allowed in, these children would be alive.

Children and babies have also died because they were denied medical evacuation in time. Look up the story of Miriam. Another little girl, Sham Qudeih, was granted medical evacuation to Italy. She had severe malnutrition (as a result of the blockade) worsened by a rare genetic metabolic disease. Had Sham stayed in Gaza, she would have almost certainly died. She is now recovering. Her sister, who has no underlying conditions, also came with her and was treated for being underweight.

One of my own children had a cow’s milk allergy- I remember the stress of having to be prescribed formula.

There are some utterly appalling people out there. Zero compassion. It’s disturbing to read.

Tell me what would possibly cause food prices to sky rocket?? And people to consider exchanging sex for food? What would cause that level of desperation? Extreme food shortages, which is what there has been. Israel deliberately had a policy of blocking aid in contravention of International Law this cannot be denied. The comments on here are disgusting . Sorry Palestinians do not look quite emaciated enough to satisfy you. Vile

Literally no-one said that, they are saying that using children who have other medical needs as evidence of famine doesn’t work because thats not why these children are in that appalling state. There isn’t a famine, theres uneven access to food, price gouging, aid hoarding, selling of aid and definitely hunger (anyone willing to have sex for food is most definitely hungry). What probably happens as aid workers can probably confirm is that there are multiple layers of corruption and pretty gross behaviour which stops the most needy getting food and that is down to their own countrymen.

Thank you, someone talking sense!

In a famine the weakest starve first. I don’t understand the logic behind thinking it’s not that bad because the really skinny ones were probably sick already. There will be more than enough evidence of what has happened. Tens of thousands of tiny bodies who should have lived to laugh and play and live meaningful lives. It’s a tragedy and it must be recognised and never happen again.

The vast majority of people are deeply disgusted by the atrocities inflicted on the Palestinians. I’m surprised anyone thinks otherwise who has access to international news.

The vast majority of people don’t actually give a shit about the Middle East or Palestine, because for the last 50 years there has been constant conflict.
Add in ISIS, Afghanistan, Iraq, 9/11, 7/7, London Bridge, Madrid, Nice, Manchester Arena, etc, etc, of the Islamist terrorist atrocities and the majority of the people are done with caring.

Also a lot of these children were routinely being treated in Israeli hospitals for ongoing genetic illnesses before Oct 7th. Obviously that stopped after Oct 7th.

I think that would have had an impact on the conditions of these children.

Absolutely, a few of the people killed on 7th October were Israelis who volunteered with driving Gazans to hospital regularly. i’m not sure that will be on offer after this war tbh but I hope the emiratis etc will step in and offer medical aid.

@TomeTome your comment was I wonder what Israelis think about having Trump as their only ally.

But again, Trump is not their only ally. Whether we are talking about political allies or not ( & apparently you weren’t) it’s unrealistic of you to suggest that only Trump supports Israelis. Are you not aware that lots of people even on this board let alone in the whole of the UK, support Israel?

Israel also gets a lot of support from Germany & Germans, as another example. Which is not to say that there wouldn’t be a lot of Germans critical of the actions of the Israeli government. But there would also be many that ultimately support Israel in this war. Surely you are aware that people hold different opinions and it’s not Trump on his own supporting Israel?

Any minute now, I'm sure!

Instead they've pivoted to "yay, war".

OnTheRoof · 11/10/2025 16:35

HellsBalls · 11/10/2025 13:34

So now Hamas are all over social media dishing out punishments to Gazans, threatening dissent with death, insisting on being part of the future of Gaza, will the Pro-Palestine marches now change their narrative from Israel to Hamas?

Any minute now, I'm sure!

Apparently the ceasefire isn't good enough for the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign:
"We won’t stop campaigning until Israel’s occupation and apartheid is ended and Palestine is free from the river to the sea."
x.com/PSCupdates/status/1976976377888096595

Nice and easy when you're in London and not the ones dying in Gaza I suppose. But it's also dangerous - this absolute nonsense from the West will potentially embolden those in Palestine so still wish or think it's feasible that they can somehow end Israel's existence.
The only realistic approach is acceptance that Israel isn't going anywhere.

User37482 · 11/10/2025 14:36

Jean Hatchet on twitter has also talked about women in Gaza being forced to exchange food for sex, its rape basically. So there are hungry people who are being coerced into degrading acts to obtain food for their children.

Before some fucker starts blaming the Israelis, theres is literally no situation currently in Gaza where a man is forced to demand sex for flour, there is no fucking excuse for rape. I’ve seen enough rape apologists on these boards and I will throw up if I see another woman on here blaming anyone other than the rapist for their crimes or pretending it just didn’t happen and ignoring the plight of women. You can fuck right off if you are about to say that.

Wow

On August 22, 2025, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), a United Nations-backed body, officially declared that famine was occurring in the Gaza Governorate, which includes Gaza City.

Guess they and many others are lying

On the food thing, I think it’s just extremely uneven distribution, I have friends with family in Gaza, they are being price gouged by traders (who are selling them whats supposed to be free aid) and too terrified to go to the GHF sites because they believe they will get shot at by US and Israeli forces. They aren’t starving but they are suffering.

Some people will be fine because they have money or are well connected especially to Hamas, but those with few networks will be really struggling.
