I don’t think there’s a permanent solution because the hate is passed down and the radicalisation of children in schools and at home has to stop for any hope. But I’m giddy with excitement for those families who’ve lived in a parallel world for two years. It’s all I can think about.

When you have the leader of the greatest military and economic power that has ever existed on the planet breathing down your neck, it tends to focus minds.

You either honour the terms of a ceasfire or you don't. As it's unarguable that Israel were in the wrong there, you seem to just want to move the goalposts to "the terms should never have existed". Despite the fact that Israel itself negotiated them.

And in a sane universe there would be no illegal occupation of Palestine. We could play this game all day.

It's bizarre isn't it. There was a clearly laid out progression outlining exchanges of hostages and a roadmap for moving on to the next stage of negotiation of the same. And then suddenly the discourse on one side switched to "Hamas must just immediately release ALL the hostages, without expecting ANYTHING in return, or we'll abandon that roadmap, return to bombing the shit out of them and it will be their fault".

And lots of people on this board seemed to think that was a fair and reasonable understanding of what honouring a ceasfire means.

Is there a ceasefire yet or not? Even if there isn't the latest massacre that Israel have just carried out is fucking disgusting. Bombing a residential building where more than 40 people are trapped under the rubble.

I was just looking more at the last ceasefire. Breaches by Israel pretty much every day in terms of killing people, then their refusal to stick to the deal, and then full blown airstrikes. I mean, kids were still getting shot and killed by Israel during the apparent ceasefire.

I assumed they'd be a lot of screw ups and breaches by Hamas as well, kind of tit for tat, but it amounted to (a) the returning ceremonies & where they returned a wrong body instead of Shiri Bibas (b) them being slow at giving lists of prisoners (c) then wanting to stick to the ceasefire as agreed. There was one rocket fired and it landed within Gaza.

So based on previous behaviour, I'm much more pessimistic that Israel will stick to the ceasefire once the hostages are returned. All we can do is hope for now.

Hopefully Hammas won’t break the ceasefire - they usually do.

Anyway the revolting racist Palestinian marchers will have to find some one else to bully every Saturday so maybe us Londoners can have our city back.
