Hamas says ready to release all Israeli captives

Reported in Al Jazeera:

The Palestinian group says that, in order to end Israel’s war on Gaza and a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the enclave, it is ready to release all Israeli captives – both those who are living and dead – according to the exchange plan outlined in Trump’s proposal.

“In this context, the movement affirms its readiness to immediately enter into negotiations through the mediators to discuss the details of this agreement,” Hamas said in a statement shared on Telegram.

It also said it agrees to hand over the administration of Gaza to an independent body of Palestinian technocrats, “based on Palestinian national consensus and Arab and Islamic support”.

“Other issues mentioned in President Trump’s proposal regarding the future of the Gaza Strip and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people are connected to a unified national position and relevant international laws and resolutions,” Hamas said.

They “will be addressed through a comprehensive Palestinian national framework, in which Hamas will participate and contribute responsibly”.

The International Red Cross have done fuck all to support the hostages in the last two years.
No ‘humanitarian’ liaison whatsoever.
Useless, biased organisation.

It is absolutely appropriate as that is indeed what she did when she snuck herself into Afghanistan then cashed in and wrote a book about the Taliban, who were nice/it was traumatic depending on which interview you read.

We can all 'come together' and hope we finally see an end to hamas causing so much suffering whilst point out Ridley is a liability at the same time.

It is absolutely appropriate as that is indeed what she did when she snuck herself into Afghanistan then cashed in and wrote a book about the Taliban, who were nice/it was traumatic depending on which interview you read.

In February 2025, Ridley appeared on Talk with journalist Julia Hartley-Brewer and stated that Hamas had shown "kindness" to the Israeli hostages they had kidnapped in the October 7, 2023 attack, only to have their efforts "backlashed" by the Israelis. In a heated exchange, Hartley-Brewer demanded "Are you kidding me? Do tell me what the acts of kindness were. The pita bread once every three days for those men kept in a tunnel for 16 months?" to which Ridley replied, "They gave [the hostages they released in February 2025] goody bags. I don't know what was in them, but they gave them gifts. They gave them little mementos, Palestinian mementos.” An astonished Hartley-Brewer called Ridley a "Hamas apologist" and said "Acts of kindness from your hostage-taker, the man who's kidnapped you and terrified you and starved you for months? Yvonne, what's happened to you?”

I think there is a particular brand of mental illness that covers this sort of thing. I'm not sure what the label is for it.

Behind a paywall but the the title is clear. Good news that she is safe.

I wonder if she'll write a book about her experience like her 'traumatic 10 days wirh the Taliban' whom she conversely said treated her with kindness and respect. She could maybe donate all profits to a charity to help gazans although there's no mention that proceeds of her Taliban book went to charity so perhaps not

Talks about the peace plan continue today in Egypt.

Hamas has said it agrees to the peace plan proposals in part, but has not responded to several key demands - including its disarmament and not having any future role in the governance of Gaza.

A senior Israeli security source said the talks initially would focus only on the release of hostages and give Hamas a few days to complete that phase.

The second day of the talks, which will see Egyptian and Qatari officials holding shuttle meetings with delegations from both Israel and Hamas separately, will be taking place on the second anniversary of the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on 7 October 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 others were taken hostage.

Trump, writing on social media, has urged everyone involved in efforts to end the Gaza war to "move fast" and says he has been told the first phase of the peace plan - which includes the hostage release - "should be completed this week".

The only ones who will ever know the truth and any of this are the negotiating teams.

I sorry think they should be able to negotiate etc a bit of privacy tbh. We shouldn't be privy to it, however interesting it is.

Agree, it's such a delicate situation. Leaks do not help the people suffering the most right now and erode the already limited trust.

Hamas has demanded the release of captured terrorists who took part in the October 7 massacre, sources have said.

The terror group has reportedly requested that “Nukhba fighters”, the elite special forces unit who led the massacre, be added to the list of currently imprisoned Palestinians slated for release in exchange for the Israeli hostages.

The demand risks scuppering any chance of a deal.

Maybe Hamas are looking at ways to scupper the peace plan 🤔

It might not even be true. There's currently a lot of disinformation and psychological warfare happening. Yesterday Al Arabiya a Saudi paper reported that Hamas had agreed to disarm, this was refuted by a Hamas spokesman less than an hour later.

There a lot of people both in Israel (Netanyahu and Gvir), Palestine (inter faction fighting esp with West Bank parties) and America (Senators like Lindsay Graham) who do not want a ceasefire.

I couldn't find much information on it some quotes said they were 'set to'. I don't subscribe the the Telegraph so couldn't read the article.
