The unreasonable peace offering will fail, it was only ever a vague swipe at a Nobel by Trump but it also gives carte Blanche to BN, hence his smiles.

And Netanyahu will raze the ground to entirety in the coming weeks.

I do hope I’m wrong (am sure I’ll get attacked left right and centre for posting my thoughts anyway) but that’s my prediction.

My personal belief is that there is no god or sky fairies of any description, the belief of such sky faries is exactly the reason the world has so many problems…but if the thought that there are gives you self belief in your life that might be a good thing for you.

But I also know that the tenets of Christianity are love, forgiveness and understanding, so I’m curious as to why you don’t extend those to your innocent Palestinian brothers and sisters (under bombardment and grave threat) too.

If being Pro-Jewish means you agree with the utter horror that has been unfolding in Palestine then I doubt whatever you call your God will make much difference come judgement day.

Palestine is recognised by other countries as being its own state.
Netanyahu knew that they would never agree to this clause which is probably why he included it. Add to that that Nethanyahu cannot be trusted so there is absolutely no point in Hamas agreeing to it.

There was antisemitism by Arabs long before Israel was re-established.

Stop trying to justify antisemitism, would you justify islamaphobia? Did you go round saying it would be hard to dissuade people that islamaphobia is wrong after 7/7 or 9/11?

The other problem with ii is, you wipe out one death cult, you sow the seeds of another. I daresay the people of Palestine, and many who support them, won’t be dissuaded that anti-Semitism is wrong when a Jewish Government is killing them. I don’t know what the answer is to stamp out anti-Semitism in the Middle East, but I know that what’s happening now isn’t it.

Did you not read your own link? It wasn’t Hamas who did that.

Similarly, offering something to someone you know will never accept it, isn’t really negotiating. Netanyahu has refused to consider a two state solution. That’s also a barrier to peace.

Whomever did what to whomever, if two sides are to find peace, they both have to compromise.

Sadly I think you might be right. If they do accept then I’ll be surprised. Hopeful but doubtful.

So, what’s on the table now is, I believe, (i) that a fanatical antisemitic death cult disbands and nobody else pursues its aim of wiping out Israel and Jews. Or, failing that, (ii) Israel continues its armed mission to wipe out the fanatical antisemitic death cult.

The attraction of (i), I believe, is that Israeli hostages get released, that massive efforts are made to rebuild a better home for Palestinians, and that Israel has greater confidence in its security.

I have to say that (ii) seems much more likely. Fanatical antisemitic death cults do not go quietly. And they have every incentive not to do so because of the support they get from useful idiots (most of whom are themselves antisemites) in the west.

That’s the idea.
I think Hamas will call their bluff, and the fighting will continue.
After all, they are winning the propaganda war.

Is it empathy you are identifying? I think possibly the problem is you are unable to think outside your own experience and put yourself in another’s shoes. I imagine this is something that needs to be learnt by both sides. How can we make progress if you can’t even consider what might be driving another’s behaviour?
