Gaza Flotilla - genuine peace activists or Hamas puppets?

Just to be clear. I dont think the situation in Gaza is a big joke, obviously, its quite the opposite.

The flutilla is the joke.

Comparing a hero of the resistance to the Nazis who was actually executed for his part in an extremely brave ( secret ) plot to assassinate Hitler ( and to refer to these actions as ' speaking out ' ) to a ship of publicity seeking celebrities who are bringing 'symbolic' aid and who will be rescued, given sandwiches and sent on their way- thats also joke.

So even though the pope and Israel will facilitate the aid being delivered to Gaza it is still more important or symbolic for them to be allowed to sail in. Do people honestly think that will happen with no danger to the flotilla or concern for safety?

Apart from Hamas there are several groups in Gaza and you think your friend @Abhannmoror Greta will be left alone…. To waltz in and then leave again? Did you see when Hamas released the hostages? And there were armed men and the Red Cross there? I don’t know if people are being purposefully naive. They would be collateral. Useful idiots indeed.

I read the article in the guardian overnight and the peace plan appears to have gained traction. Anything that jeopardises this is an unwelcome distraction. Did you see the last attempt that Greta made. Big Kermit hat and grinning at the soldier giving her the sandwich. It’s almost as though this is a game. Let’s see what happens anyway.

You seem to have made up your mind so I doubt there's much point responding, but here goes. I'm slightly acquainted with one person on the flotilla. She is a lesbian feminist , socialist and atheist. She therefore is not a Hamas supporter and has little time for any religion.

I couldn't have predicted someone using an anti Nazi preacher who was actually hanged for his involvement in a plot to kill Hitler as defence for Greta's self publicizing 'symbolic' Futilla but this is where we find ourselves and I'm here for it.

Even if Greta doesn’t think she has an ego, she does. A lot of people think because they’re well read or respected in one area, this extends to every single area that takes their fancy.

Bonhoeffer was a commited anti Nazi, and a Christian, who spent some time in a concentration camp, and who absolutely understood the use of force was sometimes necessary to defeat evil.

He would have been on the side of whoever was attempting to defeat Hamas, the modern day Nazis who are still trying to get rid of Jews, and do so by murdering them indiscriminately.

He served the congregation of Zions Church for God's sake.

Yes she is a poster girl for Hamas now.

She has gone from an "innocent young girl" who people listened to because it seemed that she had one obsession which was climate change, to an adult who will divide opinion and be judged as a political activist.

I agree that her refusing to watch the film showed her true colours and that she is not trying to reach Gaza with a humanitarian agenda but rather an anti Israel one. I certainly don't see her as harmless anymore - I did with her first attempt until we found out that she refused to watch the film about 7/10. That showed she has no interest in gaining information about what triggered the war or to gain any empathy about what Israelis may be feeling.
