Gaza Flotilla - genuine peace activists or Hamas puppets?

It has been reported that these activists have rejected the Italian government and the Vatican's proposal to unload any aid they are carrying in Cyprus, to be transferred peacefully to Gaza.

They seem intent on sailing into a legal blockade in a warzone as a direct provocation to Israel who will be forced to take control of 50 boats and the people on them.

They have made lots of unproven allegations that Israel has attacked their boats which may well be to precursor violent resistance in 'self defence'.

They could be carrying anything, including weapons.

There is quite compelling evidence of Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood connections to this so called humanitarian flotilla, which could be considered perverse in the extreme seeing as Hamas has caused the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Hundreds of Israeli boat owners are being encouraged to counter protest in Navy approved zones (without interfering) as a presence 'a blue and white wall for the hostages'.

What do we think the outcome of this will be with Italian and Spanish Navy vessels in the mix?

This is quite a different situation than the ONE boat in the earlier failed attempt to breach the blockade this year where the 'activists' were peacefully appeased with sandwiches and sent on their way (after refusing to watch footage of Oct 7th).

A campaign of so-called “peaceful solidarity” reveals disturbing ties to designated terrorist organizations.

What excuses do you offer for islamist terrorist attacks in other parts of the world.

I'm not making 'excuses'. You talk about 'understanding a growing threat' but don't want to look at what increases that threat? Let's just all stick our fingers in our ears then and pretend that governments helping to blow up innocent people in the 1000s has no effect at all on the terror threat. Two completely unrelated topics.

The Jewist people in Manchester have not helped bomb anyone in the middle east.

What a sick twisted comment.

Edited

This isn't a thread about Manchester and I never said that they did? Why are you twisting what I said?

To make it clear I said Islamic terrorism rises when Western governments help blow up children in the middle east. Nothing about Jewish people. Manchester or anything else you have made up in your mind.

Germany is the second biggest arms supplier to Israel. The second biggest contributer in the West to 1000s of children being blown up.

Which do you think is the bigger threat, Islamic terrorism in the West or Western supplied weapons in the Middle East. Who is the bigger killer?

The thwarted Hamas attack in Germany today, support that too do you, excuses for that too, Germany isn't bombing anyone either.

Lofty sentiments, which I agree with in general; but if you are blind to the rise of radical Islam and the threat it poses to Israel... and more broadly to the Jewish people, including here in the UK... then I'm not sure what it will take to get you to see the dangers here

You do know that radical Islam is acknowledged as the greatest terror threat to Europe? Not just to Israel?

All in society need to realise that Islamic terrorists are a growing threat. Apparently there are almost 39,000 islamists on the 'watch list ' in the UK. Everyone needs to play a part in calling out and reporting people who are radicalised. Recognise the problem and look for solutions.

There was a thwarted Hamas attack in Germany today.

No one is defending Hamas here, everyone has acknowledged they are murderers, but plenty are defending the murdering rapist terror group the IDF! The IDF are war criminals. Israel is committing war crimes. Israel has no right to govern international waters. The flotilla is legally within their rights to sail in international waters and to deliver aid to Gaza.

Can I just remind you of this inflammatory and hateful post? No wonder attacks like the one in Manchester today are happening.

Bigotry is what is wrong with the world - the terrorist attack today was caused by bigotry. When we think people are less than us because they are a different ethnicity, religion or race and attribute bad characteristics to people based on their ethnicity we can justify all sorts of terrible acts.

Most of us actually feel empathy for other human beings, mothers in particular do not want to see small children suffer. If you don’t care about children dying and suffering, if you are not moved by the images of crying children who have lost family members and have no food, you have something seriously wrong with you.

At least Hells is honest, not hiding under a cloak of faux empathy for the suffering of civilians.

I know what you mean - been to Cyprus a few times and it doesn't feel like a ME country because culturally it's European.

Got a little hint from your post there that you could be from Ireland.

Ireland has endorsed the deal too of course under the EU umbrella (though no statement from them which isn't surprising given their consistently tough stance against Israel).

Even China and Russia have endorsed the plan!

Hamas really will be isolated if they turn down a plan that pretty much the whole world has endorsed.

There has been at statement on the peace plan from Ireland. Welcoming the plan, carefully worded to say “ we hope it can provide a basis for progress towards peace”

points out that Palestinians and the people of Israel need to be at the heart of a sustainable agreement that delivers lasting peace - adds in that we know this from Northern Ireland.

Totally bizarre that you think that there would not be one. Ireland was once on outlier calling for a ceasefire but it really isn’t now.

The cheering on release of the Bibas babies was something to behold. Grim.

Indeed. The cheering of IDF soldiers when they blow a civilian up- also grim
why condemn only one?

People don’t want to see Palestinians dying, our problem is this does not stop Israel from just razing Palestine again in another few years. It offers no protection. The fact you see this about “winning” is messed up.

She didn't say anything about winning.

It offers Israel no protection either. All this does is kick the can down the road.

I saw a video yesterday of the IDF detaining 2 little Palestinian boys, I don't know maybe 6 and 8, maybe younger, one of them was crying his heart out, like heartbroken and terrified. When a local said that they were just kids the soldier said 'I don't care'. People talk about Palestinians being radicalised, this is the 'radicalisation', treat people like they are sub human and they will hate you. Push your way into their homes, detain their little children, steal their homes, forbid people from walking down their streets and using their roads, you aren't 'winning' anything.

It's disgusting behaviour that the whole world is now aware of. The genie can't be put back in the bottle. Israelis can keep trying to ignore what their government and what their soldiers are responsible for but the rest of the world won't.

Wars are categorised in history as which side won and which side lost.

Every war is way more nuanced than that and you could always question if the “winning” side should really be described in that way, given all the deaths (on both sides), destruction & ongoing problems after the war has ended.

It’s still the way wars will be described after they end. This one will be too by future generations studying it.

It's just less rape, starvation, torture and death

I mean that does sound like an improvement? Seriously though, a peace deal has to be a good thing - it is a step forward and prevents more children from dying.

The losers in wars don’t get to dictate terms and for months and months people on here have been saying they just care about innocents dying and want the war to stop - now some seem to be saying ‘yes but not like that’ - so maybe it’s not all about preventing the deaths of children?

Having been accused many times on here of not caring or even being gleeful about children being killed, despite stating clearly and regularly that all the deaths in this war are tragic (though I’m not losing sleep over Hamas and Hezbollah operatives), it’s a little surprising to see this take!

There is absolutely nothing legal about this disgusting ‘war’ and I dream that justice will prevail one way or another in the end- it makes me wish there was a hell for Netanyahu to rot in, along with all people who celebrate the murders of children- children of any nationality, religion, race or creed.

So that’s most Palestinians then.

Its feels like it wasn't about the children. Ceasefire now, then the potential of stopping the war and some would rather it went on. Heck, priorities of saving innocents soon got thrown to the side. Hypocritical really.

It's not a "siege" and it's not illegal. It's a legal war waged in response to the invasion of Israel, the murder of 1195 Israeli citizens, the kidnapping of 251 Israeli, African and Thai people, which included 30 children, one of them only 9 months old.
This followed on from over a decade of regular shelling by rockets from inside Gazan territory by the terrorist organisation Hamas, who were voted in as the government by the majority.
Greta and her ship of fools are working for and with a terrorist organisation, while useful idiots in the west clap like seals.

There is absolutely nothing legal about this disgusting ‘war’ and I dream that justice will prevail one way or another in the end- it makes me wish there was a hell for Netanyahu to rot in, along with all people who celebrate the murders of children- children of any nationality, religion, race or creed.

The post is about the flotilla, if it doesnt matter then we can agree its a virtual signalling, provocative publicity stunt, funded by Hamas.

So now how much of the Hamas provided statistics and pictures coming out of Gaza do I now believe?

I definitely do not trust Hamas , I assume in common with most people who have been horrified by the atrocities committed on both sides of this terrible situation. However, I do trust the UN : https://www.ohchr.org/en/press-releases/2025/09/israel-has-committed-genocide-gaza-strip-un-commission-finds

My point was that debating that debating the merits of Flotilla is like rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic, as an awful tragedy unfolds further in front of us.
