An understanding that this is an extremely atypical war, fought against non-uniformed terrorists who merge with/hide behind civilians, deliberately maximise civilian deaths, complicate all on-ground operations, and exploit the results for propaganda purposes. In such circumstances it is pointless playing a numbers game with comparative statistics. Wariness of the MN forum generally, which was for a long time dominated by blatant antisemitism and poorly disguised Hamas propaganda (multiple spamming threads, now deleted). Compassion for the position Israel is in after the unprecedented scale and brutality of 7/10, a watershed moment in contemporary global terrorism and one that made Hamas's genocidal intentions very clear. Anxiety about Western liberals' commitment to being on the "right side" of social media leaving them vulnerable to cynical manipulation by radical Islam, which is acknowledged as the biggest threat to national security here and elsewhere in Europe.

Edited to add: I've always been a Western liberal myself, but some situations require caution to be exercised.

Can I ask the multiple posters who post on here in support of Israel but have recently said they are neither Israeli or Jewish what motivates you to be so steadfast in your defence of Israel as the death toll mounts daily and more organisations call out what is being done to Palestinians as a genocide?

Both sides are human, so of course both sides do.

The difference is that one side is led by a democratically elected government with some good policies and some terrible, which can be removed by democratic process, if that is the will of the people.

The other side is led by a terrorist organisation that executes its own civilians in the streets and sees them as necessary sacrifices and refuses to surrender despite the utter destruction and pointless death its bought upon its own. And whom cannot be removed by democratic process as they murder the opposition and dont hold elections.
