You're compassion is touching.

Your lack of compassion for innocent Palestinian civilians is blinding. 20,000 children are just collateral damage to you.

Ah yes, of course- it’s entirely the civilians fault for not staging a coup under siege, bombing, and occupation. Tens of thousands of children dead, entire families wiped off the registry, neighbourhoods flattened, but if they’d just rebelled against Hamas then Israel’s actions would be fine, right? Incredible mental gymnastics. One side is conducting a deliberate, disproportionate campaign of destruction- blaming the victims doesn’t make that any less obvious.

Thegreyhound You could maybe help by offering yourself in exchange for one of those there now.

They could go home to their families and you could be as kind as you like to those torturing you.

On a thread about the fact that Israel have killed 20,000 children- potentially more- we have several people blaming Hamas. People insinuating that lots of children are child soldiers working for Hamas. We even have one poster equating all Palestinians (babies included I suppose) with Hamas and fantasising about bombing themselves if they were hostages… but we’re the ones ‘dodging’?

Anyway. 20 000 children murdered by the IDF.

I don't think its me that's doing the dodging here!

Thegreyhound · 24/09/2025 20:04

SharonEllis · 24/09/2025 20:03

No. I responded to a pp who said 'As pointed out many many times before the practise of utilising children as soldiers was banned by Hamas 20 years ago'.

This is incorrect. Or at leadt they carried on despite the 'ban". It wasn't me that brought it up though.

Why are you and that pp so invested in this particular piece of misinformation?

Anyway. 20 000 children murdered by the IDF.

LastTrainsEast · 24/09/2025 19:44

I've always thought that if I were taken hostage I'd expect my government to come for me. I'd know I could even be killed in the fighting, but I'd yearn for the sounds of bombs dropping and rockets hitting the buildings my captors were hiding in.

If it stopped because people wanted to bekind to the terrorists holding me that could be worse than the torture.

Some will say "but not all Palestinians are evil" and yet they have the power to rise up and stop this and don't.

So they are complicit even if they were not the ones cheering the murderers.

They have had 700 chances to end it too.

If you read what actual hostages say about what they thought when hostages it is rarely if ever bloodthirsty nonsense such as this.

SharonEllis · 24/09/2025 20:03

Wedonttalkaboutboris · 24/09/2025 19:50

You were the one who dragged child soldiers into a thread about Israel killing children every hour. That’s not ‘refuting misinformation,’ it’s changing the subject. The reality remains: more Palestinian children have been killed by Israeli bombs than Hamas has ever put in uniform. That’s the horror you keep dodging.

Every day since that Oct 7th when Hamas went out to have some fun murdering, raping and stealing children Hamas have had the option of ending the fighting.

They could have released the hostages.

Even if you don't trust Israel to stop the other countries involved would have insisted.

Everyone hates how long this has gone on and wants to end it and send in aid and help rebuild. They can''t without the cooperation of Hamas and they won't get that.

So 700 days on which it could have stopped, but Hamas want Palestinian deaths. They have lots of Palestinians to spare and each one killed helps recruit one or more people at a nice dinner party in a safe and comfortable western nation.

"oh those poor Palestinians" they say "we should force those awful Jews to stop trying to get the hostages back. It's a terrorist's human right to keep hostages anyway"

No one in the world is saying what you have said at the end of your post. Offensive rubbish.

I think this is one of the bleakest things I’ve read on here.

Imagine thinking ‘I’d welcome the bombs’ is some profound point, when in reality those bombs have killed 20,000 children who weren’t holding anyone hostage.

Civilians in Gaza aren’t action-movie extras- they’re people being starved and bombed with no way out. Pretending they could just ‘rise up’ against one of the most advanced militaries on earth is delusional.

I don't see the relevance. Who here is suggesting a child is not a child if they are Palestinian? Other than the person who said Hamas doesn't use child soldiers. Obviously Hamas do use under 18s for military roles. So I guess you could argue that they are saying Palestinian under 18s are not children.

It’s telling that on a thread about Israel killing over 20,000 children, the focus shifts to Hamas. Even if Hamas recruits child soldiers (which is itself horrific), that doesn’t erase the reality: Israel is killing children at a rate of more than one per hour.

Two wrongs don’t cancel each other out and nothing justifies bombing schools, hospitals, and homes, or starving toddlers. This isn’t about “Hamas tactics,” it’s about Israel’s choices and the catastrophic child death toll they’ve caused.

It reminds me of a thread it would nearly two years ago now where 8 year old Adam was executed, shot in the back of the head by the IDF whilst running away from them in the West Bank. Posters here fell over themselves to say how he would have grown up to be terrorist anyway so it doesn't matter. It was disgusting. Always the same justifications.

A child is not a child to some if they are Palestinian children. We shouldn't be surprised that that idea is in the UK too when as the poll from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in early June showed it is a widespread belief in Israel that there are no innocents in Gaza.

What a vivid imagination you have ... any more examples of things that never happened?

Everexpanding · 24/09/2025 18:06

Yes it is terrible the things being done to children

Are you trying to excuse the deaths of tens of thousands of children?

I was refuting blatant misinformation. Why would anyone who cares about children downplay the horrific reality that Hamas brutalises its own children? Truly, I don't understand the things I read here.

We all know Hamas officially banned child soldiers but its blatantly obvious that they didn't stop bringing up children to glorify martyrdom and killing Jews and also continue to use them in the front line too. Of course they continue to recruit and use children (people under 18).

There's plenty more if you look. Often found in articles that document extensive use of child soldiers across the middle east and africa.
