I think you're muddling up several things actually.

I'm 'extrapolating' from a country that hasn't done enough to quash these 'extremists' in fact they have allowed this anti Christian abuse to grow and grow and the government has fed into it by accusing multiple Christian majority countries of being 'antisemitic' rather than doing what most diplomatic countries do and that is address the issues being raised.

And you are extrapolating from a few extremists on the ground (which noone denies) to widespread anti-Catholic prejudice more widely.

Yet you know full well that anti Christian behaviour is a big problem in Israel. You know this so you can claim never to have seen anti Catholic rhetoric from Israelis but you know that Christians get spat on there. You know that Christian religious leaders get physically attacked there. You know that churches and religious statues etc get vandalised there. You know all of this exists from Israelis on a very regular basis so maybe you personally don't see them posting about it on the Internet but if they are willing to spit on people and desecrate their graves I'm sure you will acknowledge that it isn't far fetched to imagine that it does exist online too, you just haven't seen it.

All the top 50 countries for persecution of Christians are in Africa, Asia and Middle East. We have discussed attacks on christians in Gaza/WB/Israel by both Jewish and Muslim extremists before on this board so its hardly something we have ignored but as ever people only seem interested where Israel can be blamed.

Honestly its a very bizarre argument. I follow a lot of Jewish and Israeli accounts and have never been hit by an avalanche of anti Catholic content (despite the very longstanding problems of catholic antisemitism which is completely undeniable). I see an awful lot of antisemitic content from Irish accounts though.

Its ignored when its other countries. Its only relevant when its Israel.

I think you'll find the rise in attacks on 'Christians' is more marked in African countries than it is in israel, there have been many (pretty horrific) deaths. Israel are not involved though so perhaps it's too wide a world view.

I do think this this all so interesting though. We all expect countries like UK & America to be self reflective about their racism, with all the taking the knee etc. When it comes to antisemitism there is no reflection at all, just outrage and defensiveness at the mere mention.

You are on the Ireland is antisemitic bandwagon on every thread where Ireland is mentioned yet you don't think there could be a link between Israels continued verbal attacks on Christian majority countries and their huge problem with anti Christian behaviour. If Irish people were spitting on Jewish people, desecrating their graves, destroying their religious symbols, physically attacking their religious leaders and speaking out against Israel we all know that the two would be linked and rightly so.

When the Israeli government called the Irish leader antisemitic with absolutely no evidence to back up their claim it opened the door for an avalanche of anti Catholic rhetoric from Israelis across the internet, some people would say that the Israeli government have been inciting it. They certainly haven't been doing enough to get to grips with the rising tide of anti Christian attacks there that's for sure.

The point is whether that has any impact on foreign policy and diplomacy. You havent made a compelling case that it does.

Well Ireland isn't alone in being accused of antisemitism and discrimination by Israeli officials are they? Just today Amir Baram, the director-general of Tel Aviv’s defence ministry accused the UK of being discriminatory towards Israel. Spain were accused of waging “anti-Israel and antisemitic campaign.” Brasils leader was accused of a 'serious antisemitic attack'. Canada is majority Christian, accused of being 'a champion of antisemitism'. Australia majority Christian their government accused of 'fueling antisemitism'. France majority Christian 'inciting hate'.

Then that would play out with their relationship with every other Christian country wouldn't it? Where is your evidence for that?

I'm suggesting that perhaps there is anti Christian bias at play within the Israeli government when they do things like accuse the leader of a country of being antisemitic with no evidence for those assertions. There is a huge problem in Israel with anti Christian behaviour that is only growing with each passing year. It's hardly out of the realms of possibility that some of that anti Christian prejudice would spill over into their dealings with Christians outside of Israel too.

I don't know when a country has a problem with its citizens spitting on Christians, attacking cemeteries, monestries and churches, physical assaults on members of the clergy, one might wonder if there is an alternative explanation for their verbal attacks and accusations on a Christian country like Ireland. But there you go.

Just the usual accusations iirc, but towards the state this time.
