I'm not Israeli, or Jewish.

I used to be vaguely "pro-Palestine" and "anti-Israel."

This war is the only fully justified war I can remember in my lifetime (almost 7 decades). Seeing it picked apart in detail and described as "collective punishment" is playing into Hamas's hands, along with the proliferation of Palestinian flags.

I was born shortly after WW2 and never expected to see such a rise in fascism here in my lifetime. It's terrifying.

You think Israel’s response is proportionate and justified. You think the murder of 20,000 children is justified. I wonder if you’d say the same thing if it was your children and relatives?

You talk of the cold blooded murder of a baby and toddler who were taken as ‘prisoners of war’ with their terrified mother trying to shield them from terrorists who were committing horrific atrocities all around her as being ‘wheeled out’ and accuse people of being fine with the murder of supposedly 20,000 children because they might have a bit of sense and logic not to believe a terrorist organisation’s propaganda machine?

I the saying ‘every accusation is a confession’ might apply here.

Rabbi Eliyahu Mali said The Torah is saying: ‘You shall not let a soul remain alive’… Today he’s a baby, tomorrow he’s a boy, tomorrow he’s a warrior.” Former Knesset member Moshe Feiglin stated explicitly: “Every child, every infant in Gaza is an enemy… the baby you feed with milk today will slaughter your children in fifteen years.” There was that lovely Israeli Knesset member Meirav Ben Ari who said The children of Gaza have brought this on themselves.

I don't know where that poster is getting their info from but she couldn't be more wrong, from elected Israeli politicians to their religious leaders to the TV stations Israelis choose to watch there are loads of examples of people who think the children of Gaza deserve everything that they have gotten and more.

I am one of many thousands of regular mums who find the occupation and genocide in Gaza utterly appalling. I contributed to this thread in an attempt to shed some light on why the world has declared this a genocide - it is not a war.

Hamas killed 1,200 people on October 7th a hideous crime, Israel in response has killed 60,000 plus Palestinians mainly civilians, civilians corralled into small areas, crammed into tents and currently also being starved, people don’t agree with collective punishment, people do not like seeing children (approximately 20, 000 killed by Israel now) shredded by massive bombs. How are you surprised ?

I think the murder of the Bibas children is awful. No child should be murdered, it's abhorrent.

What I object to is caring about children's deaths based on their ethnicity and usefulness in making your point. This thread is full of justification and rationalising for the murder of children. It also contains significant doubt given to the death of Hind Rajab despite numerous evidence and independent investigations. Why is questioning the narrative of this death acceptable but questioning whether Israel told the truth in how the Bibas children died not acceptable?
It is contested how they died and I don't believe either Hamas or Israel and there is no independent evidence. It is very useful to Israel to claim they were strangled but there hasn't been any independent verification of this evidence so im not gojng to believe it without evidence. It doesn't make sense to me why Hamas would kill them, it's horrendous but they are simply far more valuable to them alive than dead.

I find bringing the death up of the Bibas children while ignoring the pain of each one of those thousands and thousands of deaths and supporting justifications or excuses for them to be awful and I believe frankly racist.

I do admit that I don't believe Israel. I have seen too much evidence of lies to believe they have any remaining credibility. However I admire and believe in a lot of Israelis such as Ilan Pappe, Ras Segul, the Israelis involved in Breaking the Silence etc.

I am biased but we all are clearly.

How on earth can you say it makes no sense for Hamas to kill them? On what evidence would you base that assertion? They killed over 1200 people on 7 October. They murdered captive hostages. They kill their own people with no care. They have vowed to repeat 7 October. Exactly what part of genocidal death cult do you not understand?
