Op I highly doubt you’re going to get much support on here. Anytime a post goes up it’s detailed by those who don’t believe a genocide is happening.

I know, and think will probably log off after reading the charming comments by @mids2019 , but I think as women and mothers we can try at least to highlight what is happening, people won’t be able to say they didn’t know

I worry about a culture where women are becoming pregnant in a horrific war zone and what patriarchal pressures are being placed on them? Honestly we all get by by ignoring it. Seems hypocritical to pretend to be all fuzzy and warm by obsessing over this.

Can our governments not put pressure on the neighbouring countries to at least give sanctuary to pregnant women and their children? In fact, all women and children.

I do wonder why more is not being done to prevent a civilian population being targeted like fish in a barrel.

People have a choice of not getting pregnant by not having sex. There must be pressures applied to such women and I really don't think in all cases it is a free choice.

They are being starved to death I highly doubt contraception is readily available.

Beyond shameful comment, I doubt contraceptives are available in Gaza given that baby formula and medical equipment are routinely blocked by Israel

Yes, the long term consequences for the children exposed to the level of threat and trauma in Gaza will be extreme. I think about my own children when I see them and I cannot imagine the stress their parents must feel trying and not being able to keep them safe.
i think of how hard labour is and the demands of looking after a new baby even with warm homes, clean water, and cannot imagine how Palestinian mothers in Gaza are possibly coping, Imagine bringing a new baby home to a dirty tent with unclean water under the threat of malnutrition or bombing. What the civilian population is being put through is horrifying and inhumane
The Israeli government needs to cease its aggression now. The situation is dystopian in the extreme

You know women the world over get pregnant without planning it, for various reasons?

Including, throughout the centuries, in Britain.

Imagine what it must be like to be pregnant in Gaza at present.
Lack of medical facilities, lack of food, clean water, appropriate accommodation, fears about your delivery but also imagine the distress the mothers must feel when bombs are heard going off around them. All this will have an impact on the unborn child.

Wait for someone heartless and ignorant to come along and say why did women get pregnant?

If they did want to avoid pregnancy, I can’t imagine they have had access to contraception.
