It is so sickening that they continue to act with such impunity. The bombed the hospital killing four journalists and THEN struck a second time killing the rescue workers who were trying to retrieve the bodies of the dead and injured.

The genocide continues in plain sight.

An injured emergency worker is led away by two other emergency workers. There is rubble and wreckage behind them. He is badly hurt.

Four journalists among 15 killed in Israeli strike on hospital, Gaza officials say

The strikes on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis are said to have killed journalists working for international media.

I wonder if the reason Israel has still not defeated Hamas after 2 years and full American backing (83% of the thousands of Palestinians killed so far are not terrorists but ‘regrettable collateral damage’ ) is that their methods aren’t working.

Don’t most hospitals have surveillance cameras anyway?

Not usually spying on the actions of an opposing army no. I mean yes they could maybe survey their own premises and car park for terrorists that'd be a handy deterrent, maybe to keep them away from 'civilians'.

I’m not sure you really have a grasp of what happened @Gloriia You first mutter about journalists not being innocent while
then you post a link which gives information already discussed. The strikes weren’t justified even if the camera - which was a Reuter camera - was a surveillance camera.
There were also 4 strikes. And there is only one verified terrorist in Israel’s list. Who may not have died that day

Do you think this was a tragic mistake? Or do you think that killing the journalists and medics was worth it?

Mutter?

Look, lots of things that are discussed and repeated ad nauseam. It's a chat forum none of us keep a spread sheet of what has been discussed.

Again, for the trillionth time a surveillance camera was targeted with sadly some civilian deaths and likely terrorist deaths. If you were a journalist would you hang our near a hamas surveillance camera. I wouldn't.

I think collateral damage is always regrettable and indeed the IDF have apologised whicn is more that anyone in gaza has ever done.

Did you actually read the bbc verify piece?

Nobody is disputing that the IDF said they were targeting a camera. There seems to be some dispute over the terrorists killed.

But your post seemed to suggest they were targeting Hamas operatives pretending to be journalists but this was not the case.

Who are you asking?

Anyway I'll answer. The IDF said the surveillance camera was the target yes, sadly there were civilian deaths but also some terrorist deaths, so while the terrorists may not have been the target that was a bonus result. Obviously tragic for any innocent loss of life too but it is a war zone and if I worked for reuters or whomever without any hamas allegiance I'd set up my journalist spot somewhere well away from them tbh.

Why are you deliberately spreading misinformation Gloriia? The IDF have said themselves he wasn't a target. Why are you spreading lies about murdered innocent Palestinian?

My previous post was about hezbollah and the chargers incident? My point being just because terrorists don't wear name badges and aren't known to the bbc doesn't mean they aren't indeed terrorists. The very nature of their atrocity committing role means they are covert.

What we do know is there was a surveillance camera targeted. The IDF have apologised for any innocent lives lost. However there has been lots of comment about salama and his alleged involvement in Oct 7th and other terrorists killed.

https://nypost.com/2025/08/26/world-news/idf-says-deadly-attack-on-gaza-hospital-was-targeting-a-hamas-surveillance-camera/

Yes the NYP is considered right wing but let's face it Aljazeera, the UN et al are often quoted and are slightly biased to say the least.

You do realise that it's a massive allegation to make against the innocent murdered journalist. You can't just make such allegations and say well i think it's something I read but let's move on. Either provide a source or retract your allegation.

I will retract my post when everyone else who has posted things without providing evidence retracts theirs - how about that?

It's like the hezbollah pager thing. I bet if the BBC looked into that they'd be 'no evidence' of them being terrorists they were all 'journalists and medics'. Who to believe the BBC or Mossad? Hmm its a tricky one.

'Innocent murdered journalist' what like the innocent murdered journalist Anus Al Sharif taking selfies in his tent nothing to see here?

Terrorists don't wander about in their green costumes with hamas name badges on so the IDF will rely in intelligence which they obviously can't share with the BBC and Sky news.

Israel have confirmed that the journalists were not targets here. Do you not trust them?

MSF have now admitted that the health worker killed was a Hamas fighter. Unfortunately whilst Hamas build terror tunnels under hospitals and use the patients as human shields, these things will happen. Blame Hamas.

Blame hamas, if only we could get that trending.

It wouldn’t be headline news. Especially if it’s just what the IDF think not what had been proven at this stage.

The IDF think lots of things that people shrug off because there’s no hard evidence that we know about. It’s not easy identifying truth or lies in a war zone.

This is something I believe I’ve read but won’t be wasting time looking for it as then people will say it’s irrelevant anyway as the IDF still shouldn’t have bombed the hospital.

I could be remembering incorrectly, that’s possible too. If I come across the article I read it in at some point I’ll try to remember to tag you. Though it still won’t be “evidence” as such.

I think maybe you just assumed this. And it’s a fair assumption to make. But the IDF don’t seem to have said this.

Here’s another article that focuses on the camera. I note that Reuters had stopped sharing the locations of journalists after so many were killed in strikes.

Reuters stopped sharing Gaza locations with Israel after IDF strikes killed 'so many journalists'

A Reuters cameraman who regularly operated its live position on the roof of Nasser Hospital was one of five journalists among 22 people killed in Israeli strikes on the facility Monday.

I never said a statement had been made by the IDF I said I believe it is their view based on something I read… it could have been implied or I could have mistakenly thought it was implied.

It’s pointless to keep going on about this.

The IDF wouldn't just put out a statement to say this is what we 'think' about something as big as reuters were allowing Hamas to access their camera. I'm almost entirely convinced this is false. The IDF have said nothing of the sort.

Isn’t it wild that their “mistakes” hit exactly where journalists and hospital staff had gathered on the stairwell after the first strikes.

PaxAeterna · 31/08/2025 10:40

Here’s the BBC verify article about 4 strikes.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cly6lxn1l4po.amp

From this I think the Israeli response is claiming tragic mistake rather than saying they were working within international law.

Rescue workers aid a man after the strike on Gaza's Nasser Hospital. The man has blood on his face while a rescue workers is wearing his-vis vests and helmet.

New footage shows Israel struck Gaza's Nasser Hospital four times - BBC News

New footage has revealed that two more strikes were carried out on hospital by Israel than initially reported.

A huge allegation for the IDF to make. They can't just go around throwing such accusations without any proof.
