The BBC has admitted that a Gazan woman it claimed died of malnutrition was being treated for cancer.

The broadcaster reported over the weekend that the 20-year-old, identified as Marah Abu Zuhri, died after she was evacuated to Italy for treatment while “severely emaciated”.

However, the Israeli military unit in charge of aid, known as the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (Cogat), claimed shortly afterwards that she had actually suffered from leukaemia.

The corporation was accused of spreading “shocking misinformation” with the story, which was updated on Sunday to reflect the patient’s condition.
Following the criticism, the BBC issued a statement saying: “We were not initially aware that Marah Abu Zuhri was being treated for leukaemia.

What I have said is sadly in a war there will be casualties. We've seen it in other places have you heard of Yemen? Syria? The problem is in gaza the terrorists hide among the civilians therefore they increase the civilian deaths. It's awful isn't it. You'd think like Israel they'd want to protect their people but nope.

We should all join together and make a banner saying 'end the conflict' or 'fuck hamas'?

Actually, Israel has already launched its ground offensive in Gaza City. I guess I know that because I rely on a range of credible sources, not just ‘The Times Israel.’

Anyway, @Gloriia I genuinely struggle to follow your posts. The way you present things actively undermines any pro-Israel argument.

Multiple credible reports show Israeli intelligence knew about the October 7 attacks well in advance but failed to act. So no, it’s not accurate to say Hamas ‘started’ the war unilaterally. It’s also not inaccurate to say that Israel’s inaction contributed directly to the massacre.

You can't help engaging with us. Nor can another poster who sniffily said they would NOT engage with me yet quotes me constantly.

You can deny reality, facts and verified evidence all you like- it doesn't make it go away. People have already woken up to the reality on the ground. I just hope you can handle the cognitive dissonance that hits you when all of this comes out.

This is a misleading statement:

Israel has already been taking Gaza City. Netanyahu hasn’t given Hamas a timescale starting 7th October; the military push there has been ongoing since the war began.

Sending threats of total destruction isn’t the same as wanting a ceasefire or peace. If Netanyahu truly wanted the war to end, he wouldn’t repeatedly break agreements, block aid, or prolong the blockade that’s starving civilians.

I hope so
