I did not say it was "reasonable" for Netanyahu to give 1M people a deadline of 7/10/25 to evacuate Gaza city. I did not imply it was any kind of solution.

What I said was reasonable (in my opinion) was Netanyahu's ceasefire demands.

Realpolitik doesn’t make systematically starving, bombing, and blocking medical care for civilians any less a war crime.

So, you disagree with the list of international human rights organisations, medical and humanitarian organisations, legal and academic bodies, civil society and advocacy groups (including Jewish Voice for Peace), who have all publicly stated that it’s a genocide?

Pointing out documented war crimes, mass starvation, and the bombing of civilians isn’t hysteria, it’s fact. Highlighting atrocities isn’t about influencing Netanyahu- it’s about refusing to normalise or excuse what’s happening.

Giving a ‘deadline’ is meaningless when there’s nowhere for hundreds of thousands of civilians to go. Framing it as ‘reasonable’ ignores the reality on the ground: people are already trapped, displaced, bombed, and starved. That’s not a solution.

For the more hysterical posters on here, who have evidently chosen the Gazan hill to die on, Netanyahu really doesn’t give a shit what you think - clearly. And you have no leverage to influence events.

No one is doing a genocide, it's a war, hopefully over soon and the gazans can then live in peace.

Doesn't it? I wouldn't want to run the risk of ignoring the October 7th deadline if I were someone living in Gaza city right now. I would consider it a hard deadline and wondering why my government (if you can call Hamas that) wouldn't just meet Netanyahu's demands.

Reported today in various sources: BBC admits Gazan woman who ‘starved to death’ had cancer

The BBC has admitted that a Gazan woman it claimed died of malnutrition was being treated for cancer.

The broadcaster reported over the weekend that the 20-year-old, identified as Marah Abu Zuhri, died after she was evacuated to Italy for treatment while “severely emaciated”.

However, the Israeli military unit in charge of aid, known as the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (Cogat), claimed shortly afterwards that she had actually suffered from leukaemia.

The corporation was accused of spreading “shocking misinformation” with the story, which was updated on Sunday to reflect the patient’s condition.

Following the criticism, the BBC issued a statement saying: “We were not initially aware that Marah Abu Zuhri was being treated for leukaemia.

The BBC’s explanatory note, added on Monday afternoon, said: “This article’s headline originally said that Marah Abu Zuhri died of malnutrition, with the introduction stating that she suffered a cardiac arrest and died on Friday.

“The headline has been amended to remove the reference to malnutrition being the cause of death in what the hospital described as a ‘very complex clinical picture’.”

The US had led the criticism, with Mike Huckabee, Donald Trump’s ambassador to Israel, urging the BBC to apologise.

Actually, Israel has already launched its ground offensive on Gaza City, so the ‘waiting until October 7’ narrative doesn’t match reality. I rely on multiple sources, including verified humanitarian organisations and journalists on the ground, not just social media or one news outlet. The facts on the ground, civilians being displaced, bombed, and starved are what matter here, regardless of what narrative anyone wants to push.

No one is claiming there’s zero misreporting, but that doesn’t change the fact that a severe humanitarian crisis exists, children are starving, and civilians are being killed. Verified sources confirm this is happening.

I love how you find new ways to insult people every day. The Times of Israel is a good source with balanced reports which is why I use them for a source of information. I often quote from the BBC too, sometimes the Telegraph and occasionally The Guardian.

From what I can tell, your sources are normally Al Jazeera or social media but anyway, sources are irrelevant to what we are discussing. We both know that things will get a lot worse for Gazans after 7/10/25 if Hamas don't soften their stance on negotiating a ceasefire before that date.

The point is that there is - in all probability - a significant amount of misreporting in Gaza.

The point is simply that it’s noticeable when the same few accounts are active almost constantly while others take breaks. It’s just an observation, not a rule about when anyone should be online.
