UEFA have finally taken a stand

A mild, late, spineless stand. But a stand. It makes me wonder how much longer this can go on before governments realise people are fed up of this.

It’s not hard to get a name right.
And why should the hostages be specially mentioned in the messaging? The hostages are not made of gold, they are not more special or singular than any other civilian.

UEFA were called out for their piss poor message re. Suleiman al-Obeid, a footballer who was killed by the IDF while queuing for aid. UEFA posted a message that didn’t acknowledge what had happened and Salah rightfully called them out.

I’m wondering why we didn’t mobilise immediately and see this heightened and continued pressure on Hamas re releasing the hostages. For the last two years banners and SM sites demanding it.

I also question propaganda, which I think Hamas have used successfully.

No Israeli sports teams have been banned which is fair. Maybe sport is making a political statment in Israel's inclusion?

Russia have been banned, thus Israel should be banned.

Anyway Israel haven't been banned from any football competitions which is a good thing as I don't like port getting to involved with politics.

You don’t think sport should have anything to do with politics? I don’t know how old you are but apartheid South Africa were rightly banned from pretty much all international sporting events including the Olympics. I’m guessing you think that was wrong?
