To my amazement, last night I discovered that some posters on MN think that "radical Islam" means simply "Muslim" 😬

I wonder if this explains why so many are unconcerned about who might be pulling the strings behind the "peace" rallies that were first organised on 7 October? Do they know what radical Islam is, how powerful it is, that it is widely acknowledged as the greatest threat to UK national security, that its intentions are clearly stated, that it is 10000000% different than simply observing Muslim faith?

Palestine Action are planning a rally in central London on Saturday and hope to overwhelm the police presence. Is anyone concerned about this? I'm worried that the seeds of civil unrest are being sown, without it being entirely clear who is sowing them.

They kill and kill and kill and kill. Yet some will still try to defend the indefensible. Atleast some Israeli voices are now finally accepting that their government and the IDF are carrying out a genocide.

There is no massacre, and with Hamas infiltrating the aid queues people getting shot is very, very likely to be a legitimate military response to a threat.

That's just shit and not even MSM believes it. Even Israeli media casts doubts on the IDF version of events which is saying something.

I will say what I want thanks. Can't believe people are so bothered over a peaceful protest whilst Israel are continuing to murder and massacre Palestinians.

As will we, thanks.

@Bunion8 what is out of step with the majority of the British Public is the view that breaking into a UK Airforce Base and deliberately causing millions of pounds of damage to Aircraft with the specific aim of damaging the UK’s military capabilities and leaving taxpayers to pick up the bill is a legitimate protest.

I think you should stop telling people what they should think.

The police can be easily overwhelmed. I was in London for the Poll Tax riots and saw it first hand.

Two Tier Kier needs to go on record and say mandatory prison sentence for the terrorist supporters who turn up (and get caught).

The police will have cameras and facial recognition, and all the recording from the tube stations etc.

It’s very, very concerning that the Islamists have a hold.

Edited

If Palestine Action wins its appeal against being a terrorist group, that will make any arrests unlawful.
The police will then be subject to compensation claims from all those arrested.
The police have a very difficult task facing them, so it’s not quite as simple as just “bang them up”

grizzlyoldbear · 06/08/2025 15:06

I'm not bothered by a few peaceful people holding placards saying they are against genocide, no.

I think people on this thread should read the room. Everyone should be against the genocidal state of Israel for what they are doing to innocent Palestinian children. Starving them to death!

Bunion8 · 06/08/2025 15:02

i think there’s been a mix up here.

On Saturday there are several protests.
1 by Defend our Juries which is about the legal right to Protest for which 500 people are expected this will claim support for Palestine action in order to challenge the legal case which proscribed them as being a terrorist group.
1 large March in support of Palestine of which there have been many
1 anti immigration protest.

I’m not sure which you think is out of step with the majority of British people but here is a letter signed by 500 Jewish members of leading professions (including human rights lawyers) who state that the proscription of Palestine Action is unlawful

AzurePanda · 06/08/2025 14:54

@Bunion8 if they are holding signs expressing support for a proscribed Terrorist organisation then yes, they should be arrested. That is the law after all.

Palestine Action group has been responsible for some pretty nasty attacks, including an attack on a Jewish owned business in North London. They claimed it was because the business had links to Elbit but this is simply not true, it was just Jewish owned.

@Bunion8 that view is very much out of step with the majority of the British people who do not see attacks such as the one on Brize Norton as simply “economic damage” nor as a legitimate protest.

Even Just Stop Oil has belatedly recognised how counter productive their protests have been. It’s time Palestine Action read the room.

I suspect that they have read the room but that some people in the room are a wee bit too trusting that everyone is as well intentioned as they are.
Lawfare is a bit less disruptive to innocent bystanders and they seem to be pursuing a court case, they're surprisingly well funded.

youreactinglikeafunmum · 06/08/2025 14:41

I will be watching along on tiktok live as I have my dd who is only 6

It would be too crowded for her, although I wholeheartedly support the protesters and pray for peace for the innocent Palestinians 💛

Bunion8 · 06/08/2025 14:39

Beachtastic · 06/08/2025 10:04

But they are unlikely to be controlled by bad actors in the Middle East. Especially given the name 🤣

The action on Saturday is by Defend our Juries and is about the right to protest.
There are supposed to be 500 people silently holding signs.
Is this to be condemned in Britain today?
Should this be an arrestable offence

Palestine Action support non-violent protests.
Economic damage does not a terrorist make
The attack on Brize Norton highlighted the direct link between the RAF supporting Israel’s bombing of Gaza.

What about the attacking police officers with a sledgehammer? Was that non-violent?

Bunion8 · 06/08/2025 14:26

Beachtastic · 06/08/2025 10:44

What does this have to do with Palestine Action.

Do people really believe that breaking into a UK Airforce base and inflicting damage on Military Aircraft (at huge expense to the taxpayer) with the specific aim of impacting the UK’s military capabilities is legitimate protest?

I wonder in which countries this wouldn’t be regarded as an act of terrorism?

Can you tell me how those were linked to Palestine action? As far as I’m aware that group didn’t even exist then 🤷♀️

The ideology precedes the latest useful crusade by centuries, or rather millennia.

SisterTeatime · 06/08/2025 13:44

Thanks for this. God knows I think Just Stop Oil are troublesome fools and SY-L and his ilk are a deeply unpleasant and dangerous stain on the country but they’re hardly comparable to Islamist terrorism. I can’t believe people are so blasé about the Brize Norton incident.

That's the extent of the brainwashing. You are convinced to turn your back on your fellow countrymen, in support of an ideology, that wants to destroy you. It's absolutely mind boggling.

Dangermoo · 06/08/2025 14:11

Echobelly · 06/08/2025 13:34

Neither of which are reasons to advocate that people shouldn't be allowed to peacefully protest for freedom for Palestine. Protestors harming property or people, or actively threatening people, should be tried under the law, but I'm not for whole movements being banned unless they have outwardly stated intent to harm others as part of their reason for existing.

As a Jew, I'm not scared of protestors, but I am concerned about the consequences of my supposed safety being used as a means to stifle freedom of expression. The kind of people who use that will be the kind of people quick to turn on us if they decide we're longer useful.

Forgive me, but as a Jew, you don't speak on behalf of all Jews. If we are being told that calling out antisemitism shuts down debate, then why can't Islamic extremism be discussed, without being told we are racist. Your part about being 'useful' and Jews' use expiring, I won't comment, other than to say, I find that ironic.

French priest murdered, Australian cafe customers held hostage and shot, Bataclan, Madrid train bombing, and let’s not forget the most significant victims - those oppressed and murdered by the Horseman of Death that was ISIS/Caliphate.

Islamism is the objectively, quantifiably, confirmed biggest terrorism threat. Only absolute jokers would compare it to the riots and protests taking place here. It’s insulting, actually most insulting to those forced to live hell under ISIS, if they haven’t already been murdered.

AzurePanda · 06/08/2025 12:10

@Bunion8 but the issue isn’t “economic” damage is it? If Al Qaeda directly claimed responsibility for an attack akin to the Brize Norton one would you still see it as legitimate protest or would you see it as terrorism?

Again, I’ll ask “where’s the link to radical terrorism”. I’m genuinely interested as I support the right to protest, but if the group had been hijacked by terrorist groups I’d like to know. I’ve just checked and Islam was not mentioned in the court case against them so why are you linking them…. unless you know better than the Judiciary?

Pslestine Action have also been given the right to appeal the decision that proscribed them a terrorist group which wouldn’t have happened if they didn’t have a firm legal claim.
