Conflict in the Middle East

Many pro-Palestinians DO actually support Hamas

There I said it.

Obviously they won’t come out and admit it, for fear of exposing themselves as supporters of evil, and also because they worry that they may be traced as it is supposedly illegal to support Hamas, as a proscribed terrorist group.

The evidence is all there -

The blind belief in the blatant Hamas propaganda which defies sense and logic.

The demonising descriptive language used to describe Israel.

The insistence that a war Israel didn’t start justifies Israeli and Jewish people around the work being persecuted, attacked and even murdered.

The protests against Israel but not Hamas who actually started the war.

The complete lack of interest or outrage in the Israeli hostages who actually included children and and a baby.

The calls for immediate ceasefire since the war started with no calls for Hamas to surrender.

The complete lack of accountability for Hamas and Palestinians in general.

I cannot fathom that anyone with a sane mind would support evil, barbaric murderers and rapists who also actively want to get their own civilians killed, and kill them themselves, so can we assume that for these people, their hatred of Israel and the Jewish people is greater than their care for human life as a whole.

A genuine question.

Someone on these threads said in NI that pro-pal and pro-Israel are split along sectarian lines, the republic seems to have a very pro-pal stance.

They may not have the same pro-pal anti-Semite overlap that we see in mainland UK.

No they aren't antisemitic.

Take your xenophobic crap somewhere else please .

Facts tell you otherwise. Perhaps look at the stats and listen to the Jewish leaders who’ve spoken about how’s there’s antisemitism in Irish curriculum?

Besides Ireland isn’t really in a position to speak out against human mistreatment given the very recent living memory incidents of women, girls and children abused, tortured and killed horrifically while its people turned a blind eye. To posture about how terrible other countries are is laughable when victims haven’t even had an apology yet

Did you see that the baby name"Yahya" gained 33 places in the popular baby name list in the UK last year ( the largest increase than any other boy name) 580 families gave their newborn baby boys that name in the UK last year. I find that quite scary and shows clearly the viewpoints of these families that are living here and possibily on the marches. I mean, after Oct 7th that's like calling your child " Hitler".

Let’s not forget that they don’t give a jot about the many humanitarian crises and compare this to the Holocaust.

Isn’t it funny how, of the many current crisis, and the many last crises, they compare the two? Then when you tell them it’s antisemitic to do so, they call you an antisemite for “saying Israelis are Jewish”.

They’re thick AF and I see these people every time

Im not saying ALL pro-Palestinian supporters are antisemitic, but a fact the surface a little and you’ll easily find some ancient trope about Jews under there

LadyCankleOfGrantham · 02/08/2025 17:04

Of course they do. They pretend not to but their words and actions and what they chant and wear say otherwise

vivainsomnia · 02/08/2025 16:22

You will likely dismiss any evidence as biased so probably easier for you to find ‘facts’ which disproves this claim
It depends what you call evidence or fact.

Take another matter of high controversy on MN (thankfully one that either way doesn't end up killing thousands of people): breastfeeding. Many use the words fact and evidence to judge who ever chose to do what disagreed with the beliefs of the other.

So what is actual fact when it comes to breastfeeding: 'Breast milk contains bioactive factors that augment the infant's immature immune system'. Now that is a scientific fact that can't be denied.

What's false interpretation of a fact? That a breastfed child has better chances in life from the start for being breastfed.

What's an opinion? That breastfeeding is better that bottle milk.

What's insulting? To tell a bottle-feeding mum that she is a bad mum for not breastfeeding.

What's wrong? To shout that it's a fact that breastfeeding is better.

What's wrong to assume? That everybody is either a supporter of breastfeeding or a supporter of bottle-feeding.

Now apply this to the ME debate. There are very few indisputable facts. There are however many many wrong interpretations. There are many opinions that are turned into power arm to convince those with different or even no opinion that they are wrong.

What's only interesting is to read opinions, ideally evidenced from experience and to be let to make our own mind up.

How utterly disgusting to compare the atrocities of Oct 7th to Brexit
Such a predictable response, I was expecting no less! That's what make posts from people like you hard to take seriously. They look for reasons to shout outrage, and jump at the first bait they find!

I used this analogy to try to exert any form of empathy for common people caught in the middle of a war that has nothing to do with them, yet are the ones who suffer dreadfully.

The irony of your response is that you clearly completely fail to get the analogy! I'm not comparing the atrocities of Oct 7th with Brexit! The comparison in my made up analogy would be the army of Boris bombing the French. The response from Europe would be the response of Israel!

It's a crap analogy in terms of comparing events. It's not about the events, it's about trying to put yourself in the shoes of a Gazan mother at the moment. One who couldn't give a shit about the politics of Hamas, whose only goal in life is protecting her family and living a safe and stable life, just like the majority of British people.

What you've posted are opinions. No issue if you say that it's your opinion, but when you start using the word 'fact', then you should be able to provide that, facts. So where are those so called 'facts'?

I agree. There is a wealth of information, including videos, about this online most of it is from Israel though as no one else seems to care that Palestinian kids are subjected to this horror, extreme abuse and brainwashing and have been for decades.

You will likely dismiss any evidence as biased so probably easier for you to find ‘facts’ which disproves this claim

Mosab Hassan Yousef is a Palestinian who grew up within Hamas in the West Bank (so not even in the more extreme Gaza) who has spoken out about how children are abused and indoctrinated in Palestinian society do you could look him up.

There are also quite a few UN reports about the brainwashing in schools, use of child soldiers, etc. Here’s one -

Imagine Boris pre-covid. Boris has enough of the power of Europe. He wants out, and as we found out, so did a majority who voted. But then, instead of just coming out, he decides to bomb Normandy and kill 100s of French people. The French and United European nations decides to cut of the UK. No food comes in, no fresh water, no medical supply. Your children are starving from starvation, your sister gave birth in hospital and she and her baby died when the hospital was bombed. You diabetic mother dies in front of you in agony because there's no more supply of insulin.

You hate Boris because he deceived you but he refuses to do what Europe is asking to end the war. You hate Europe because they are killing you and your lives ones and you can't see the end it...and you didn't even vote for Brexit.

Yet all you hear is that because you live in the UK, you are clearly a strong supporter of Boris and the fact that you are collateral damage is just too bad for you, you should hate Boris and accept that Europeans hates you for wanting to be independent nation and don't care that you are suffering greatly as a result.

How utterly disgusting to compare the atrocities of Oct 7th to Brexit.

If you want to play that game, we would have needed to take almost 2000 French and international hostages including over 200 children and 8 babies as well, having slaughtered almost 10,000 people up close and personal by shooting, stabbing, beating and garden implements, NOT BOMBING, injured over 50,000 and gang raped hundreds of women.

I would expect us to be the world’s pariahs. Not
France!

I would also in that situation have gathered together people to find out where those hostages are so I and as many others as possible could have taken France’s offer of $5 million and safe passage out of there. Then I would have sung like a canary about Boris’s evil regime and got worldwide support to crush it because I would have been a hero in helping to get back the French hostages.

Not sure that would play out in real life with the Israeli hostages as no one seems to care about getting them all back apart from Israel.

You clearly don't see Palestinians as equal to Israeli's. You'll disagree, but it's clear from you write.

Oh, so now you can’t accuse me of hating Palestinians, you want to accuse me of racism but I agree that I don’t see Palestinians as equal to Israelis.

Israel hasn’t made terrorism and conversely, victimhood, an integral part of it’s identity despite being the biggest victims of all, so Palestinians don’t have to actually build their own State and economy like Israel has, they can fire rockets and murder people then whine about security measures being put in place to prevent that, then carry out a mass scale terrorist attack and whine that if they only had their own State they wouldn’t have had to do that.

That’s not racism as I don’t think all Arabs behave like that at all. Palestinians are not a race btw.

That’s facts.

No you haven’t fixed it at all.

You think Israel should end this war with Hamas remaining in control of Gaza, because that is what you seem to be saying?

I don’t think anyone hates Palestinians. I for one, hate Hamas and the ideology that Palestinians have been indoctrinated into, in addition to the PLO before them. It’s a fact that they are indoctrinated from children into wanting the destruction of Israel and hatred of the Jewish people. I mainly feel that this a great tragedy and have sympathy for them that this indoctrination has ruined and blighted the lives of Palestinians, especially children, for decades, and the Israelis too.

The difference in your first paragraph, is that Israel actually could do that, they could have done it at any time over the last 58 years, they could have done it over the last two years, but they haven’t.

If Palestinians had the capacity and power that Israel has, what do you think they would have done?

Taken in Israelis for medical treatment, saved one of their leaders lives so he could lead one of the worst atrocities ever seen against them later on, provided them with energy, food and medical treatments?

There is a lot more hatred towards Jewish people just for existing than Palestinians, despite Palestinians most notable achievements being terrorism.

Edited

Seriously? Bit of a reach there. Can't believe you are comparing IDF shooting and killing people collecting aid with the repercussions of aid being looted. Anyway we've posted numerous times the evidence that Hamas did not get hold of lots of it.

People get indirectly killed either way.

Quite simply, they don’t consider an organisation who freely admits it wants to and is trying to annihilate Gaza and slaughter Gazans, as evil. This is what they are trying to hide.

Support for Israel is directly fuelling this war to continue.

Most rational, sane, people would be horrified by that but not these people because their hate for Palestinian people is deeper than their care for human life.

It is extremely sinister and troubling.

............

Fixed it for you.

What's disturbing, is how it still works. Netenyahu's government has been far clearer than Hamas has been in its stated intention to annihilate Gazans. Threatening to drop a nuclear bomb on them, saying they might be morally justified and starving 2 million people to death, calling them human animals, saying they'll destroy them all. Netenyahu's his party has the annihilation of Palestine written into its Constitution. It may well be that Hamas would make similar statements, but because of (understandable) lack of legitimacy, and organisation it can't. But that doesn't detract from the fact that Israel has said those things, and is currently engaged in large-scale destruction slaughter of an imprisoned civilian population.

They are two sides of the same coin. Netanyahu and his government need to go, they must play no future role in Israel. They need to face justice with the ICC. How should any IDF soldiers convicted of war crimes. Likewise, Hamas needs to go, they must play no future role in Gaza. They need to face justice with the ICC, and any any bog standard Hamas foot soldiers convicted war claims should enter before the appropriate court.
