While I'm willing to keep an open mind, the removal doesn't seem to have been antisemetic (though Spain's transport minister's response certainly was).

It’s irrelevant whether or not they understood Hebrew. The staff on the plane say these children compromised safety so the right thing happened.

Standards of behaviour are rightly expected to be high when flying, so the airline crew should be supported for putting passenger safety and comfort first. They don’t take the decision to involve police lightly and messing around with timings costs airlines money. They won’t have done this if they didnt have to.

Probably not. But also: millions of people very much do know at this point what "mevot la-aravim" sounds like due to how ubiquitous it is as a chant. I'm not a Hebrew speaker but I recognise it the same way I do Russian "nastrovyie".

In all seriousness: nobody has any clear understanding of what happened here. We know the group was thrown out and the supervisor detained. We also know what the airline says and, in general, that airlines are extremely strict about safety culture.

And that's about it unless further evidence emerges.

Needless to say: both throwing people off a plane for their religious affiliation and racist chants or general unorderliness on a flight are unacceptable.

Groups of French school kids can be very disruptive. All kids can be disruptive of course but French school groups are often noticeably badly behaved.

They were removed because they were rowdy, as kids can be. They just also happen to be Jewish.

One 21 year old was in charge of 50 kids on the plane? I’m surprised they allowed that booking. It sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Without any xenophobic comments or chanting we wouldn’t have known they were likely Jewish, but it’s not why they were removed from the plane.
