We are up to 21 dead (including an unborn baby) now since Trump announced the ceasefire but Hamas are the ones not too be trusted and don't want peace.

I do find the killing is ramped up when a ceasefire is threatened.

It's just crazy how double standards are applied. Hamas kill 1200 Israelis and that's starting a war, Israel kill 1250 Palestinians and that's a ceasefire 🤨

Yes, not a single day of the ceasefire has passed without Palestinian deaths and Israeli atrocities. In the West Bank alone, the Palestine Settlement Resistance Commission has documented 11074 attacks on the land and property of residents by Israeli settlers and the IDF.

In Gaza on 16th July of this year, a funeral procession was bombed, killing eight people and injuring 20, of whom seven were children.

Also in Gaza during the ceasefire, Medecins Sans Frontieres recorded that a 14-year-old boy with Down's syndrome was shot five times by Israeli snipers while he was playing outside his tented home.

The BBC's Middle East Correspondent, Haval Gilad, was recently allowed into the West Bank and interviewed an Israeli settler, Yehuda Shimon, a lawyer. He said:
"One Jewish life is worth 10 million Palestinian lives because God chose us. Because of this, you are jealous."

He then proceeded to criticise the Israeli military for not using lethal force against Palestinian residents often enough.

.Israeli prison authorities released 15-year-old Mohammad Hamed in an unconscious state after he was denied medical care during the months of his detention, according to a statement shared by the Palestinian Prisoners Society on 2 August.

The statement noted that Hamed's medical condition worsened each day at Ofer Prison. Hamed contracted scabies, but Israeli prison authorities deliberately denied him the necessary treatment, causing severe complications and a rapid deterioration in his health.

He was transferred to hospital, then returned to prison, before being admitted to hospital again on 25 July, where medical examinations revealed that the infection had spread to his heart and brain. On 27 July, he underwent open-heart surgery, and doctors later indicated that his right leg may require amputation due to damage caused by the infection.

His family was not permitted to visit him, and Israeli authorities decided to release him only when his condition became critical. Hamed remains unconscious and on life support in the intensive care unit.

Since the Gaza war broke out in October 2023, Israel has detained tens of thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza. Around 9,400, including 1,900 children remain imprisoned. Following their release, many Palestinians have reported physical and psychological torture as well as sexual abuse by Israeli forces.

It's been a really traumatic few days for Palestinians in Gaza. The images of the unborn baby and the onesie (I won't say any more because it could be a massive trigger) are something that will stay with me.

The Palestine Feminist Collective, supported by the Progressive International, has published A Predatory State, a 200-page report on the abuse of Palestinians.

A Predatory State documents torture and gendered violence in detention centres, at checkpoints and in the homes of kidnapped Palestinians.

A section on Targeting Reproductive Health documents Israel's destruction of maternity wards, fertility clinics and reproductive health support, while arguing that this violence is not incidental but deliberate and systemic, practised as a matter of policy for many years.

The members of the collective have gathered hundreds of testimonies from Palestinian men and women that make harrowing but vitally important reading.

I agree that there is some relief for the families of the 112 @Boolabus but there are potentially hundreds of thousands more Who have not been recovered and Israel is removing the evidence. A report has been released by Euro med:

Today, UNICEF has released the information that the Israeli Defence Forces have killed more than 300 Palestinian children, that is, one Palestinian child a day, since a ceasefire was agreed with Hamas in October 2025. To my knowledge, Hamas has not killed one Israeli child in those nine months.

It is standard practice for the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) to desecrate hospitals they have bombed and to systematically destroy all life-saving equipment.

The internationally renowned Greek ENT surgeon, Professor Christos Georgalas, volunteered at the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in 2025.

He recalled that after the hospital was bombed and the patients had to be evacuated, Israeli soldiers with crowbars destroyed every piece of medical equipment they could find; dialysis machines, incubators for newborns, ventilators, imaging equipment, sterilisation units ....... However, a massive MRI machine resisted all their attempts to put it out of action. Rather than leave the life-saving machine functioning, the soldiers managed to find a specialist engineer in their ranks who made sure it could never be used again.

Investigation by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty and Legal Agenda shows Israel deliberately attacked Amal Khalil and colleague Zeinab Faraj knowing they were civilians.

An Israeli strike that killed Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil and injured her colleague Zeinab Faraj in April was a war crime, three rights organisations said on Thursday.

Investigations from Human Rights Watch (HRW), Amnesty International and Legal Agenda showed that Israel deliberately and directly attacked Khalil and Faraj, with apparent knowledge that they were civilians. The organisations called for the attacks to be investigated as war crimes, while HRW called for states to halt arm sales to Israel and put targeted sanctions on Israeli officials responsible for ongoing crimes.

Deliberate attacks on civilians, which both journalists were, is a war crime. Israel has killed at least 15 journalists in Lebanon and 210 in Gaza since 2023, according to the UN human rights office.
The reports also indicated that Israel delayed Lebanese ambulances from reaching Khalil and Faraj for hours – at one pointing dropping stun grenades on Lebanese Red Cross workers and firing on their ambulances.
The delay in rescue might have led to Khalil’s death, as hospital reports indicate that she might have still been alive hours after an Israeli strike toppled a building on top of her and Faraj.
“The evidence is clear that the Israeli military knew, or should have, that Faraj and Khalil were civilians, but attacked them anyway, and then prevented paramedics from rescuing them for hours,” said Ramzi Kaiss, Lebanon researcher at Human Rights Watch.

It is tragic to see these beautiful children who were to lose their loving father, the eminent journalist Anas Al-Sharif, at such an early age. Sadly, there are many thousands more children in Palestine who have lost a father, a mother, often an entire extended family.
Only two weeks after the start of the conflict in October 2023, a 10-year-old boy in the town of Jabaliya was trapped for three days under the rubble of his home. He was rescued and taken to hospital, to be told that his parents and all his relatives were dead. He had joined the thousands of Palestinian children for whom medical staff have an abbreviation, WCNSF - wounded child with no surviving family.

After three years of war and a so-called ceasefire that has been violated by Israel daily, Palestine is suffering what the media is calling the largest orphan crisis in modern history.

This is not new. Before 2023, there were already almost 33,000 registered orphans in Gaza. An aid worker from Save the Children, which has had a permanent presence in the region since 1953, said:
"The situation for children in Gaza was intolerable before 7th October's escalation. It is beyond catastrophic now. What we're seeing in Gaza looks like the depths of hell."
