You don’t have to demonstrate that you support other causes. It’s just interesting to speculate why it’s this one in particular that excites such strong feelings (even before the current situation in Gaza, which I condemn).

Just as it would be interesting to speculate why a black driver speeding was pulled over by police when white drivers speeding were not.

It’s not ‘funny’ how people care about this one. You also don’t know what other conflicts people care about. And why must we qualify our support for Palestine by demonstrating how much we support other causes? ( I was waiting for this one to come up again).

I have friends who are Israeli and I have sympathy with those who lost friends and family in the October attacks. That said, we cannot and must not turn a blind eye to what is happening now, which is out and out ethnic cleansing. I had to pull over in my car the other day as they played a recording on the radio of an eight year old boy finding his class mate dead, he was just wailing and as someone with an eight year old, it just made me weep. If this isn’t genocide what is it? What did that boy do? What did the people waiting in queues for aid or in hospital do? Palestine Action are largely people at the end of their tether, who can’t believe that the world is letting this happen. Why are we staying silent, why are we still arming Israel or training their defence? I can understand how people are forced to take to the streets, how else will anyone take action?

Sadly there are territorial conflicts all over the world. Funny how it’s just this one that some people are interested in or care about (and cared about even before the current disaster in Gaza).

Your dissertation would need to contain much evidence to support your hypothesis - factual, not emotive, that is.

"People protesting against a genocide" are not labelled as terrorists. People "protesting" by breaking into MOD property and causing millions of £ of damage to the UK's defence capabilities are. (Causing deliberate damage on that scale is "being violent".)

I live in England. If we were at war tomorrow, I would want all my country's military aircraft, intact.

@SharonEllisThe protests are currently about the genocide but also The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) protests are also focused on supporting Palestinian human rights and ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories. They advocate for the rights of Palestinians to self-determination and return, and they oppose what they see as Israeli violations of international law and human rights.
What is wrong with that? The israeli occupation is illegal under international law. Fact. We have every right to self determination and return. And israel has been violating and ignoring international
law since its inception. Fact.

They might need to take better care and they will have been hauled over the coals. However, that doesn't negate the utter stupidity to immobilise military aircraft. All these excuses for terrorists, come from the same people, who call Israel terrorists.

Yet the biggest issue of the day for these people is 'it's not genocide', that's what brings them out onto the streers. That's what they get from watching children being killed collecting water, watching desperate people queuing up to be shot at and fed. Not even a 'it's not genocide but it's wrong', just protesting about a word as children starve. What heroes.

I think that it's very dangerous to attempt to curb free speech. These people are against genocide and should be able to voice their opinions. This is a very slippery slope.

The protests arent just about ethnic cleansing and starvation and that is not what the counterprotests are about. As you very well know.
