At long last the police are cracking down on hard marches

I think it's great that the police are starting to take supporting terrorists seriously and are now using anti terror legislation to start making the arrests that should have happened some time ago. As predicted as the Gaza conflict has ground on there are more and more pro Palestine looks prepared to flirt with proscribed groups.

Maybe some halal time or fines will make these people think a bit more.

A number of police officers on a road with some members of the public taking photos and filming. The police appear to be carrying a person although only their foot can be seen in the image.

More than 70 arrests at Palestine Action ban protests

The protests - and the arrests - come after the pro-Palestinian group was proscribed as a terror organisation.

And the Israeli government sure isn't moderate. The way they've referred to the Palestinians is shocking. They regard them as less than human.

'What's sauce for the goose' and all that.....

How does a two state solution assure Israel there will be no more terrorism though, especially after what the Palestinians were capable of doing, and filmed themselves enjoying and celebrating doing while shouting ‘Allah Akbar’, on Oct 7th?

Hasn’t that been on the table for 77 years now? Didn’t Israel withdraw from Gaza and the Gazans then elected Hamas a year later?

How come you think a two state solution will suddenly resolve the issue now?

What I would like to see is Egypt doing what it should have been pressured to do in October 2023, especially as they are a big part of the reason Gazans were ‘occupied’ and large proportion of Gazans have ancestral links to Egypt.

Taking in refugees who want no part in Hamas activities so the IDF can finish dismantling the evil fucks and their organisation without civilians getting caught in the cross hairs, they can have access to the aid they need without it being stolen and sold back at inflated prices or being murdered and tortured for taking free aid/aid Hamas wants for itself, and the children can start to gradually heal from the horrific things they’ve been exposed to a war zone in safety.

Whether Gazans want a moderate government and to live in peace will determine what happens next.

Edited

'Live in peace'? Seriously? How are the Gazans supposed to do that when they're forced to hear about the atrocities going on in the West Bank.

These are angry people. They're not cattle to be controlled and herded this way and that. Their homeland is wrecked, their people killed, imprisoned, tortured, raped and starved. They endure daily hardships - in the West Bank as well - and you're expecting them to just meekly go along with what Israel deem to grant to them?

After years of being educated with incitement, Palestinian pre-teens are then pressed into service by "popular committees" to engage in riots and violent confrontations with Israeli soldiers. Older kids are sent to hurl firebombs and slingshot projectiles. Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Fatah's Martyrs Brigades enlist teens to be suicide bombers and to commit other atrocities against Israeli civilians. Even rock-throwing, which has often been deadly, puts Palestinian minors at risk for arrest and jail time. The horrific and reprehensible murder of 16-year old Mohammed Abu Khdeir was also exploited by these committees to incite teens to engage in violent rioting and mass destruction of property.
In addition to turning minors into combatants, Palestinians deliberately place children at risk from Israeli counter-terror measures by co-locating weapons and terror infrastructure inside schools, hospitals, and mosques. Hamas officials have appeared on TV calling on Gazans to serve as human shields and to ignore Israeli warning of pending strikes. Terrorists adorn civilian dress and launch rockets and other weapons from within civilian areas to maximize loss during retaliatory attacks, which will increase the propaganda effect. According to IDF estimates, more than 25% of Palestinian rockets fall short of their Israeli civilian targets within Gaza. Many Palestinian children have been killed as a result, including 11-month old Jihad Misharawi in November 2012 and a three-year old girl in July. The bodies of dead Palestinian children are often posed and otherwise exploited for the media.
The most shocking aspect of this deliberate disregard for children's lives and dignity, however, is the blind eye turned to it by the UN, the EU, and so-called human rights organizations.
UN institutions and officials, particularly at the HRC, look the other way and even in some cases praise these abuses as "resistance." During the latest Hamas war, dozens of rockets have been found hidden in UNRWA schools, and media reports have shown children playing on rocket launchers located just outside UN shelters. Many rocket launches have taken place from within or near UN facilities. Yet, UNRWA officials have remained silent or only offered half-hearted condemnations of these war crimes.
The EU funds many TV programs and other media that perpetuate terrorist indoctrination and incitement. The EU also partners, through NGO projects, with the Palestinian Struggle Coordinating Committee, responsible for organizing protests that frequently turn violent. EU largesse has also been used by the PA to pay salaries to convicted terrorists serving their sentences in prison.
NGOs like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch generally bury condemnations of these violations against children in lengthy publications accusing Israel of war crimes. Calls for accountability or an end to impunity for terror perpetrators are rarely made. Measures such as universal jurisdiction lawsuits, boycott campaigns, and lobbying for ICC prosecutions (the NGOs' weapons of choice against Israel) are never wielded against Palestinians for their crimes against children.
Such complicity only emboldens future acts and represents the total inversion of morality, human rights, and law.
The depraved exploitation and abuse of children as targets and weapons by Palestinians must end. Yet, these abominable tactics will persist so long as the UN, members of the international community, and NGOs continue to enable these atrocities.

Why do the Palestinians do these things?

So essentially your in favor of the ethnic cleansing of 2 million Palestinans to Egypt, have I read that right?

What about the 2.7 million Palestinans in the West Bank. Do they get to stay?

Palestinian Exploitation of Children as Weapons of War. A United Nations finding:

https://www.un.org/unispal/document/auto-insert-181056/

"On June 12, three Israeli teens — Gilad Shaar, Naftali Frankel, and Eyal Yifrah — were abducted from a bus stop and murdered by Hamas terrorists. Their bodies were mutilated and discarded in a shallow grave only to be discovered two weeks after their disappearance. The Israeli public collectively engaged in intense grief and rallied in support of the boys' families.
In contrast, the Palestinian public widely celebrated the crime, adopting a three-fingered salute honoring the "heroic" perpetrators and mocking the grieving families on social media. Coupled with these celebrations was an major intensification by the Hamas terror group of rocket attacks on Israeli population centers targeting civilians. Many of these missile strikes hit kindergartens, schools, and synagogues. The massive increase in rocket fire escalated into a war that is still raging, nearly two months later. Hamas, the rulers in Gaza, have broken eight ceasefires and rejected agreements putting an end to the fighting.
The kidnapping and murder of the Israelis and the Palestinian response highlight the use of children as an integral part of the Palestinian war strategy targeting the right of the Jewish people to sovereign equality.
As innocents, children are to be shielded as much as possible from the horrors of adult conflict and violence. Yet, children have long been the target of choice for Palestinian terrorists, just as they are for other Islamist terror groups such as ISIS, Boko Haram, and the Taliban."

It's just a coincidence that this 'fashionable hate' for Israel grows in line with the number of children they kill, maim and starve. It's not like they could at all be connected. It's just 'fashion'.

The rise in antisemitism and marches was before the conflict started. 7th October happened, was ignored or celebrated by many and in the UK march for Palestine very quickly after. What does that say to you? Palestinian people cheering as Hamas and others including civilians paraded the bodies and the hostages killed and taken on 7th October. Yet the Pro Pal marched in the UK still, just afterwards.

DwarfBeans · 16/07/2025 17:35

@LipstickLessons that argument doesn’t make sense because it was happening before Israel even retaliated. It’s been ‘trendy’ for years.

How do you mean? Israel killed tens of children in the West Bank in 2023 prior to Oct 7, it was the deadliest year there for children since records began. That's why human rights orgs and governments were expressing concern at Israels violent, extremist behaviour in Sept of that year. People were obviously against that and their strength of feeling has grown with the more violent and extreme Israel proves themselves to be. Now we are at the point where they aren't just killing, torturing and imprisoning children like in 'normal' times, they are also starving them of the necessities for life.

Palestinians never had a sovereign country.

You mean an independent state without security measures put in place by Israel as opposed to Gaza which was exactly that?

So no land, air and sea blockade, Palestinians allowed in and out of Israel at will, no checks for armaments, ingredients for bomb making and weapons in imports etc, tunnels left as they are, no using drones to monitor them etc?

OK but how will the Palestinians assure Israel there will be no more terrorism though, especially after what they were capable of doing, and filmed themselves enjoying and celebrating doing while shouting ‘Allah Akbar’, on Oct 7th?

Yep, fashionable for liberals to march for something they know fuck all about. I see posters, who are shit scared of Reform et al, talk about their voters having no critical thinking skills. Right back at you.

LipstickLessons · 16/07/2025 16:53

Dangermoo · 16/07/2025 07:03

It became fashionable to hate Israel not long after 7/10. There are two factions: those that know why they are hating and its end purpose, and those who haven't a clue. The latter can say as much as they want, that they aren't chanting for death; guilty by association. The perfect illustration was Glastonbury and the BBC stupidly didn't anticipate this. The consecutive spineless governments do nothing to call for emergency amendment to assembly legislation. It's time these hate marches were stopped because the tail is wagging the dog.

I think assumptions are not good.

The IDF have killed many families, young and old, who knows if they supported Hamas actions.

But either way, the policy has failed, all they've done is increase support for Hamas.

One day, the war will end, the hatred some Palestinians have towards Israel will not go away, it will just lead to further cycles of violence.

Is it OK, in your view, for Israelis to feel the same after Oct 7th, the constant rocket bombardment, and all the previous terrorist attacks?

That is on them whether the hatred some Palestinians have towards Israel will ever go away. The cycle of violence is a choice which so far, has not led the Palestinians to any kind of happiness or security.

Israel and Germany are allies now, despite WW2, so are the UK and Germany. Who would have thought that would be possible? Better choices were made than to keep up a cycle of hatred and violence.

Totally correct, i too apologise, the Israeli Govt/IDF is not Israel, lazy language.

Yes many of the 58k would be Hamas but i do think it is justified to kill an entire family to get one Hamas terrorist, even if they are his own family.

But as i said, its a failed strategy, Hamas has apparently more members now then ever.

Thank you, it's easy to fall into lazy language but we shouldn't as you rightly pointed out.

And I don't think that killing an entire family to get one Hamas terrorist is justified either. I think some of the actions of the IDF have been disproportionate.

Though it may be justified in certain cases (in my opinion) like if the family are all adults and the family of Hamas terrorists because then it can reasonably be assumed that they are supporters of Hamas terrorism too.

I don't feel bad for the adult children of Hamas leaders who have been targeted by the IDF for example as I assume they have been radicalized too and celebrated October 7th. I don't feel sorry for the wives of Hamas leaders as I assume they supported October 7th too.
