I'm an Orthodox Christian. It has just occurred to me that we might lose all of our sacred places in the Holy Land if this hostility by israel continues.

Its not that simple.

The Pope is the head of a country. He can't just get himself over to Israel without an invitation.

He can however, get a load of international Christians together and address the UN.

Don't worry my Parish priest has voiced exactly the same opinion! I imagine the Vatican is coming under a lot of pressure to be much firmer with Israel.

They hate Christians because they class it as idolatry. Plus they want the land and properties. We're a thorn in their side. My heart goes out to the Christians in the middle east, including in Syria as they're all being persecuted.

Because there are Jewish settlers who think that the land Jews lived in parts of 2000 years ago belongs only to them and that they are the true, ethnically pure inheritors of this land and the rest don’t matter, they are just Arabs.

These settlers are aided and abetted by the government and the IDF.

I sadly predicted that this might happen.

The most holy site in Christianity will end up under israeli control. The end of Christianity in the Holy Land is unthinkable.

Settlers can do what they want. Under Netenyahu"s far right government normal, national, natural laws don't apply to them.

They can persecute and even murder their non Jewish neighbours with impunity. And the protection of the IDF.Angry

I feel sorry for the local Palestinians, Armenians and others who have to endure this.

The settlers are so drunk on power being enabled by Netanyahu and his ilk.
