Israels plan for Gazas future

Defense Minister Israel Katz said Monday that he has instructed the IDF to prepare a plan to establish a "humanitarian city" on the ruins of Rafah, which would eventually house the entire population of the Gaza Strip.

According to Katz, the plan involves moving 600,000 Palestinians, primarily from the al-Muwasi area, into the new zone after security screening. Once inside, residents would not be allowed to leave, the defense minister said.

Katz added that, if conditions permit, construction of the "city" would begin during the 60-day Israel-Hamas cease-fire currently under negotiation.

Gaza was already one of the most densely populated areas on Earth. This is just more abuse. How would you trust agents of genocide, murders of 17,000 children, to rebuild your home?

We’ve literally watched as Palestinians get slaughtered by the current Israeli gov. Desperate, precious children shot in their beautiful heads, while struggling to carry bags of rotten flour. 4 month old babies starving or looking terrified after an amputation. It’s the lowest. I don’t believe that Israel can be a holy place now.

My hope to all Palestinians and peaceful Israelis. My heart to all of the Israelis who have stood up to this. And all people around the world who have taken action to oppose this. Through them I believe there’s a glimmer of humanity left in the world.

I would imagine that it would be. I can't imagine that they would want to start from scratch again. Israel and Trump seem very pleased with GHF so I can't see why they would deviate from that tbh.

You'd wonder how as they have made such a mess of the current operation with aid sites in active combat zones, too few aid sites resulting in overcrowding and unsuitable aid being distributed
But then it was only created to appease the international community. There was no thought put into the details.

What is it an open air prison, concentration camp (nice play on what happened to the Jewish people there) or a genocide now?

Not quite sure what point you’re trying to make but in my view what’s happening to the Palestinian people iis about the Palestinian people.

Thanks for sharing @MixedMetals . This is shocking. This jumped out at me from the article. Does this mean the ones running this open air prison are the ones running the absolute shit show that is the aid distribution.

I would imagine that it would be. I can't imagine that they would want to start from scratch again. Israel and Trump seem very pleased with GHF so I can't see why they would deviate from that tbh.

Isn’t that fairly standard in wartime?

Have any offered?

Palestinians have kept their refugee status for 77 years, why would they lose it now?

So all those who are taking this as true must also therefore believe that Israel is not committing genocide now then?

I don't really have the words for this. 2million people to be trapped on the ruins of rafah. For context Rafah had a population of a quarter of a million. Food will be controlled by outside agencies, everything entering controlled by outside agencies, who that will be we have no idea, no one can leave.

This is what peace looks like to Israel. This is what 'why doesn't Hamas just return the hostages and it will all be over' looks like. Palestinians trapped completely at Israels mercy with absolutely no self determination.
