Israels plan for Gazas future

Defense Minister Israel Katz said Monday that he has instructed the IDF to prepare a plan to establish a "humanitarian city" on the ruins of Rafah, which would eventually house the entire population of the Gaza Strip.

According to Katz, the plan involves moving 600,000 Palestinians, primarily from the al-Muwasi area, into the new zone after security screening. Once inside, residents would not be allowed to leave, the defense minister said.

Katz added that, if conditions permit, construction of the "city" would begin during the 60-day Israel-Hamas cease-fire currently under negotiation.

So most of the time governments spy on people it's sinister but when China do it it's for people's own protection?

Because it's not like China would ever carry out a genocide on its own citizens. Oh wait, you dont actually think they are.

Nope, all governments spy on their citizens and other governments.

The West labels China doing this as "sinister" all whilst surveiling their own citizens and weaponising Western Apps for spying, assassinations currently in other countries.

It makes sense for governments of countries outside of the Western sphere to develop their own apps.

It's not only Palestinians, it's all of us around the world who use certain apps. The phone that most people carry everywhere is very easily weaponised via spyware to turn into a surveillance device.

Unfortunately just like with new weapons, Palestine is just the "testing ground" to perfect the surveillance techniques. It's easier to do it to people over there who are all labelled as "terrorists", cos they'd never do that to people who complain about Government policy here, right?

We are told that China restricts the Internet and certain apps to exert control over their population (which is true to a lesser extent) when it's likely that part of the reason they do it too is to stop their citizens being spied on.

A lot of the Iranian General's who were killed in the recent conflict used WhatsApps (implicated in the Pegusus spyware scandal).

Digital privacy rights are going to be extremely important in the future.

Agree @DrPrunesqualer its another breach of human rights by exerting control over the basics.

What frightened me was the amount of tracking that is done on Palestinan citizens which shows that the strikes on homes like the doctor who lost ten children or the doctor who was killed along her 3 day old twins were definitely targeted.

I think that’s a very fare assumption. All these direct hits can’t be mistakes or excuses as ‘but Hamas’ were there. It’s all about taking down infrastructure and means for survival,of which doctors are a very important part of that. It’s a means to an end in the ‘grand plan’.

Interesting article here on the wealth of information Israel has on Palestinians through the digital control they have.

Shows how there should be no need for children to be targeted in any way because they do know who and where the bad guys are.

Thanks Marty. We’ve heard in the news about these ‘blackouts’ before. What I didn’t appreciate was that it is concidered yet another breach of International Human Rights Law.

I could have told you that you would have been wasting your time, Forges.

The more facts you provide, the more abuse you will get. The pro Pals don’t want you providing yet more evidence that what you say is factually correct. You irritate them greatly it seems with your knowledge and I noticed that you were even criticised for having a degree in Genocide Studies. There is no evidence in the world that you could provide that would make a difference to what some people choose to believe.

As my mother in law says to me (she’s a strong Christian, I’m atheist) “I don’t need facts, I’ve got faith”.

DrPrunesqualer · 17/07/2025 02:45

What is it with this thread and the inability to have a conversation without suggesting posters must be terrorist supporters just because they don’t tow the Israeli line. By the threats and accusations made on this thread it must therefore mean most of the International community are either terrorists or supporters of Hamas because READ the news guys it’s not going to plan

Goodness. Don’t you read any of the news. Targeting Palestinian children has been going on for years. What about the kids playing football on the beach shot at from a boat by the IDF even before this war. Then the babies left to die in incubators when the doctors were marched out of the hospital at gun point. We saw their images on TV at the time. Here’s a more articles. If you can’t find anything with a quick Google you are clearly not even bothering to back up
s word you say. Stop the lies! We all see them for what they are and the world sees them every day. Why do you think so many countries are meeting to discuss sanctions and actions against Israel.

Any evidence of this or are you quoting Hamas propaganda again?

Almost two years. and probably close to millions if not more, of SM videos coming out of Gaza but not one getting a frame of the IDF deliberately targeting children and they are apparently doing it so often someone must have caught it.

I had read of Hamas forcing children to fight because their adult operative numbers have been reduced so much by the IDF eliminating them.

This is what the people who have supported Hamas as ‘resistance fighters’ and refused to call for them to surrender are supporting FFS!

Who is “you people”?

I must have hit a nerve asking for a stats citation. It took more than 10 seconds to write that reply, if you’re concerned about your time, why not just reply with the link to the report evidencing what you have said, if it only takes 10 seconds. Three people on this thread have asked you now.

If you wish to uphold integrity or veracity, include your sources, and stop expecting people to do the work or take your word for it.

You have said you are subject matter expert, with both international NGO work and lived experience, dosing MN with fact about this conflict, @ForgesOfEmpires. It’s apparent some of the views you have presented are biased and misinformed by biased outlets - the telegraph and honest reporting, specifically.

Regards me going looking to evidence your claims, I’ve done it twice now on this thread and proved them inaccurate or false. I didn’t think it was a waste of time, but a learning opportunity for me, if not you, or other people on this thread. Still, you’ve not lived your own honour code and withdrawn them or apologised in either case. Instead you’ve just tried to demerit me by saying I’m quoting UNRWA figures, when I did no such thing. You’ve also accused me lying on this thread.

So why you demand an apology or no challenge to your claims is unreasonable. If you come to the internet and make statements, you’re not owed trust or entitled to remain unchallenged.

Simply, if you’ve every confidence in what you say, then you wouldn’t mind a challenge - you would welcome it.

As for the rest of your answer, it’s a prime example in diversion and uniformed rage. Take a moment to realise you’re making an argument to cover head count of murdered children.

Truly excellent post.

The camps in question include activities like arts and crafts, kayaking, Hebrew lessons, team-building games, and even toasting marshmallows. They're designed to build confidence, identity, and community, not militarise children.

Israeli Pre-Army Leadership Camps are for teens aged 16–18, typically lasting 1–2 weeks. They focus on discipline, leadership, citizenship, physical fitness, and teamwork. There is no combat training and no use of weapons by minors. These programs are educational and civic in nature, overseen by the Ministry of Education, not military indoctrination.

What I find revealing is that while you're scrambling to draw a false equivalence between the army of a democratic state and a terrorist organisation, you're also unwittingly exposing your willingness to minimise Hamas's crimes against children.

The tragedy for the children of Gaza isn’t just the war, the loss, or the hardship—it’s that their so-called “defenders” around the world downplay the fact that Hamas exploits them. These children aren’t just caught in crossfire—they’re handed rifles, taught to kill, and told that their highest calling is to die while murdering innocent Jews.

That’s child abuse. And your inability—or refusal—to condemn it speaks volumes.

You people follow the same pattern every time: demand evidence, and then when it's provided, either ignore it or shift the goalposts.

The Telegraph article I cited includes a clear reference to official Hamas figures. This wasn’t some obscure claim - it was a widely reported global story, covered by dozens of major outlets. You can verify it yourself with a 10-second Google search. Are you seriously suggesting that Hamas is manipulating its own casualty data to make it look like fewer women and children were killed? Can you offer a single reason as to why they would do that?

As for the UN Secretary-General’s statement on child soldiers, again: public record. The use of child fighters by Hamas and other Palestinian factions has been documented for years — by the UN, Human Rights Watch, and Amnesty. It's not some fringe claim, it's standard knowledge in human rights reporting.

After days of running in circles with the same denialist tactics and bad-faith responses, I’ll make this simple:

If I take more time out of my day to dig up the original reports, primary source links, and direct quotes - not just summaries in articles - then here’s my ask in return:

You acknowledge that you were wrong to question my integrity, apologise for wasting my time, and admit two basic realities:

First, that the casualty figures clearly reflect a high proportion of fighting-age males, not primarily women and children which in turn is a pretty obvious indicator that Israel is targeting combatants.

Secondly, Zthat Hamas uses child soldiers, and any honest conversation should include a clear condemnation of that fact as well as its likely impact on the number of injured or dead children.

If you're willing to do that, fine - I’ll put in the time because educating someone on their bias snd getting to an honest picture is worth that investment.

If not, then I'm not indulging 5 seconds on you. Believe whatever you like. Uninformed rage is your perogative.

Who is “you people”?

Israel have military themed summer camps also.

As does Britain. The difference os, neither of those uses child soldiers, straps suicide bombs to kids, glorifies martyrdom or tells young people they should commit acts of terror by murdering civilians (for their race no less).

Are you quoting the telegraph here re: the 72% as solid evidence for this statistic?

Or a have you got UN verified publication to cite? Link the report please if want anyone to take heed of this statistic.

This is the exact, authoritative wording from the UN, naming Hamas by name and citing “recruitment and use of children” as a grave violation.
Again, add the link please so people can read the full statements instead of half sentences.

Very few mention this when duscussing the terrible loss of childrens lives in Gaza. How curious.

Why do you think that would be prioritised for a mention when the IDF are happy blasting multiple machine gun rounds in to the chest of a trapped 5 year old girl? Or sniping 3 years old playing outside their home? Or forcing clinical abandonment of pre-mees, leaving them starve to death and rot in hospital beds.

You need to give this over. You can still support Israel and not the government’s policy. Stop backing them. This is backing the policies of war criminals.

https://www.unwomen.org/en/news-stories/news/2025/05/un-women-estimates-over-28000-women-and-girls-killed-in-gaza-since-october-2023

This report from Un women in May indicates 28,000 of the dead are women and children which is around 50% of the total deaths accounted for so far. Now we would most certainly presume of the circa 28000 males killed not all will be members of Hamas.

If Hamas is still a significant threat- what exactly has Israel achieved over the last 2 years?

The solution does not lie in breaking international law, which will isolate Israel further regionally and globally.

Not sure if this article has been quoted as yet:
Israeli scholars are raising concerns that the current plans would constitute a war crime:

“Last week, 16 Israeli scholars and lecturers at Israeli law faculties wrote a letter to Katz and Zamir, with copies sent to the attorney general and others, to warn against “the clear and explicit illegality inherent in the plan to concentrate the population of Gaza.”
Implementing it, they said, would constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity.”

They called the camp a “detention camp” created for the purpose of ethnic cleansing:

“In our view, should this plan materialize, it would not be an evacuation in the legal sense, but rather the establishment of a mass detention camp, the primary purpose of which is ethnic cleansing and expulsion,” the academics wrote.“

The also raise concerns that the camp would risk the crime of extermination of the population.
